Jeaneen Lou De De Sheets
May 25, 1936 - October 16, 2005

Jeaneen Lou De De Sheets, 69, of Lakeland, Florida passed away Sunday, October 16, 2005 at Savannah Cottage.
Funeral services were held on Friday, October 21, 2005 at 1 p.m. from the Helms Funeral Home with Deacon Larry Fussman officiating. Interment followed the funeral service at Memorial Gardens cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. The family suggested memorial contributions to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Jeaneen was born on Monday, May 25, 1936 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan to Robert and Luella (Kohler) Swindlehurst. She married Dick E. Sheets in January 1959 and was a lifetime resident of the Mt. Pleasant area until her move to Florida six years ago. DeDe and her husband owned and operated Dick and DeDes Bar for 13 years. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Women of Moose.
Jeaneen is survived by her son: Ricky Lee (Laura) Sheets of Lakeland, FL; mother: Luella Swindlehurst of Mt. Pleasant; brothers: Richard (Lisa) Swindlehurst, and Lelland Swindlehurst both of Mt. Pleasant; grandsons: Jason Lee Sheets and Trevor Michael Sheets; granddaughter: Rickie Leigh Sheets; nieces and nephews: Richie, Brandon, and Cara.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; and her father Robert Swindlehurst.

N. Eileen Harkins
August 18, 1918 - October 16, 2005

N. Eileen Harkins, 87, of Rosebush, died Sunday, October 16, 2005, at her home, Rosebush Manor.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Thursday at the Helms Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant with Dr. Stephen Shugert officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 19th and 10-11 a.m. on Thursday. Memorials are suggested to Rosebush Manor, the First Presbyterian Church organ fund, or Hospice of Central Michigan. Envelopes are available at Helms Funeral Home.
Eileen was born Sunday, August 18, 1918, in Surrey Township, Clare County, Michigan, the daughter of Elmer and Anna Schofield. She was the seventh of ten siblings. She married Richard H. Harkins on October 8, 1938. They were married 58 years. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1997.
Eileen attended Central Michigan University and worked for McClanahan Oil Company. She volunteered for many years for the American Red Cross and served as an executive director of the organization. She also volunteered at Central Michigan Community Hospital serving as a gray lady and at one time managed the blood bank. She was an avid golfer and a member of Mt. Pleasant Country Club for many years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Pleasant and served on many committees.
Eileen is survived by a son John R. (Constance) Harkins of Mt. Pleasant, a daughter, Ann (John) Harkins Walker of Lake Isabella; a sister-in-law, Beatrice Leonard of Lake City, one brother, Raymond Schofield, two sisters, Doris Walsh of Alma, and Carol Jean Barber of Farwell. Eileen leaves behind her grandchildren Sheryl Cleary, Lauryl (Robert) Beeckman, Mark M. (Stephanie) Scott, Elizabeth H. (Richard) Meade, Christina A. (David) Hitesman, John M. Harkins, Gregory (Janet) Walker and Suzette M. Parks. She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren.

Audrey Christina (Putrill) Farison Bandurske
January 13, 1925 - October 15, 2005

Audrey Christina (Putrill) Farison Bandurske, age 80, of Greendale Township, Midland County, passed away at Tendercare of Mt. Pleasant on Saturday, October 15, 2005. Audrey was born on Tuesday, January 13, 1925 to George and Hazel (Jackson) Purtill in Greendale Township. Audrey was a cosmetologist, and owned two beauty shops in Midland, including Dixons Beauty Shop. She married James Elmer Farison on June 29, 1941, he preceded her in death on September 18, 1959. She married Leonard Bandurske on July 3, 1964, he passed away on April 29, 1989. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Georgena Mae Purtill, and Dorothy Little; brothers: Raymond Eugene Purtill, Richard Alford (Louella) Purtill and Dale Leroy (Joan) Purtill. She is survived by her children: James (Elizabeth) Farison of Greendale Township, Larry (Linda) Farison of Greendale Township, Linda (Robert) Geeseman of Brooklyn, Michigan, and Dan Bandurske of Beverly Hills, Michigan. She is also survived by six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Audrey will be sadly missed by her family and several nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors. Per Audreys wishes, there will be no funeral service. Graveside services will be held at Riverside cemetery in Mt. Pleasant on Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations in Audreys name be made to a charity of the donors choice. Betty Ann Gilbert
September 19, 1929 - October 5, 2005

Betty Ann Gilbert, age 76, of Lake, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at the Northwoods Nursing Center, Farwell, Michigan. Betty was born on Thursday, September 19, 1929 in Marion, Michigan, the daughter of William and Pearl (McLaughlin) Phelps. She was a resident of the Lake area for the past 10 years, moving to Lake from Grand Blanc, Michigan, where she had lived for 30 years.
Betty was a home maker who enjoyed cooking, cake decorating, sewing, making ceramics and doing crafts. She was a former member of the Eagles Lodge.
In following Bettys wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are planned.
Survivors include her two children, Troy Gilbert of Lake, MI, and Tracy Gilbert of Kissimmee, FL; a granddaughter, Kaylie Jones of Alpena, MI; four brothers: Jack Phelps of Flushing, MI, Stanley and Donna Phelps of Bluff Lake, MI, Clayton and Janet Phelps of Mt. Pleasant, MI, and Harry and Mary Phelps of Rosebush, MI; three sisters: Helen Henry of Lake, MI, Daisy Allen of Farwell, MI, and Maxine Travarrow of Kentwood, MI; a sister in law, Josephine Phelps.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers: Bob, Joe, Dennis, Thomas, Clifford Phelps, and Lyle Henry; three sisters: Maude Bowers, Virginia McBride, and Marge Phelps.

Jessie May Dunavant
January 30, 1924 - October 1, 2005

Jessie May Dunavant, age 81, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2005 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Jessie was born on Wednesday, January 30, 1924 in Bay City, Michigan, the daughter of Gilbert Ward and Ethel Emma (Nellis) Clark.
Jessie was buried in Memorial Gardens cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility for the residents and staff.

Gregory Joseph Sawmick
November 2, 1955 - September 22, 2005

Gregory Joseph Sawmick, age 49, of Suttons Bay, Michigan passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2005 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 26, 2005 at 1 p.m. at the Chippewa Indian United Methodist Church Tabernacle with Rev. Owen White-Pigeon and Rev. Joseph Sprague officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service at Denver Township cemetery.
Friends may gather with the family at the Chippewa United Methodist Church on Saturday beginning at 4 p.m. with a Wake Service at 7 p.m. and again on Sunday beginning at 4 p.m. with a Wake Service at 7 p.m.
Gregory was born on Wednesday, November 2, 1955 in Traverse City, Michigan the son of George A. and Elsie (Wasaqum) Sawmick.
Greg was a resident of Suttons Bay for nine years. He worked as a Laborer for Spectrum.
He is survived by his soul mate: Robin Raphael; children: Christina (Charles) Benz, Gregory (Patty) Sawmick, Amanda (Chris) Sawmick, Summer Raphael, Rick Raphael, Mike Raphael, Andrew Bear (Valerie) Raphael, Simone Raphael; many many grandchildren; brothers: Ralph (Kathy) Sawmick, Daniel (Margo) Sawmick, Samson (Helga) Sawmick, Jeremy (Shawn) Sawmick and Zachary Sawmick; Sisters Yvonne (Bruce) Dyer, Gladys Sawmick, Michelle (Jose) Pema; Aunt Dorothy Netmop; and former wife Christine Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Elsie Sawmick; a sister: Ramona Rodriguiez; a niece Alexandria Sawmick; and a grandson Charles Henry Benz III.

Ronald Lee Cottrell
May 17, 1937 - September 16, 2005

Ronald Lee Cottrell, age 68, of Oil City, Michigan passed away Friday, September 16, 2005 at Tendercare of Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 19, 2005 at 11 a.m. from the Helms Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Richard Thompson, Jr. of the New Life Family Worship Center in Traverse City, Michigan. Interment will follow the service in Kelly cemetery, Midland County, Michigan.
Friends may gather with the family on Saturday, September 17 from 6-8 p.m. and on Sunday, September 18 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Helms Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.
Friends considering a memorial contribution in Rons memory may wish to consider the Mid-Michigan Visiting Nurses Association. Envelopes are available at the Helms Funeral Home.
Ron was born on Monday, May 17, 1937 in Oil City, Michigan Preceded in death by Roscoe and Pearl (Foster) Cottrell.
Ron married Madilyn Conklin on December 31, 1958. Madilyn passed away in 1991. He was a lifetime area resident. Ron worked as a welder in mobile home manufacturing. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1956 until his discharge in 1959. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing his guitar, and visiting with his grandchildren.
Ron is survived by his children: Cindy (Keith) Ames, Ronald Cottrell, Jr., Vickie (Mark) Hyde, Patrick (Terri) Cottrell, Dave (Kati) Cottrell, and Steve (Josi) Cottrell; ten grandchildren: Shannon, Bryan, Amber, Ashley, Kelsey, Jessica, Alexandrea, Tyler, Tristan, and Bailey. Brothers: Clyde (Donna) Cottrell, Richard (Ellen) Cottrell, and Marvin (Charlene) Cottrell; a sister, Bonnie (Harry) Honeycutt.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Madilyn; a brother, Roscoe; and both parents.

Hazel L. Fortin
December 28, 1917 - September 12, 2005

Hazel L. Fortin, age 87, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan passed away on Monday, September 12, 2005 at Isabella County Medical Care Facility.
Funeral service were held on Thursday, September 15, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. from Helms Funeral Home with Deacon Larry Fussman officiating. Interment followed the service at Calvary cemetery, Mt. Pleasant
Friends gathered with the family on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
She was born on Friday December 28, 1917 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, the daughter of John Leslie and Lesta Olive (Blakely) Rufner.
She married Leonard J. Fortin in January 1935. Hazel was a lifetime resident of the Mt. Pleasant area. She worked at Mt. Pleasant Country Club as a cook. She enjoyed cooking.
Hazel is survived by her children: John J. Fortin of Clio and Leonard Gene (Cindy) Fortin of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren; Lynne, Ryan, Rae Ann, and Jeannine (Blair) Kelly; great granddaughter Kerra
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, on August 5, 1972, her parents, a brother, two sisters, and daughter-in-law Mary.

Esther Ruth McNeal
February 28, 1919 - September 11, 2005

Esther Ruth McNeal, age 86, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2005, at Central Michigan Community Hospital.
Memorial services were held on Thursday, September 15, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Samuel Reith officiating. Interment of the cremated remains will take place at Zion Lutheran cemetery, Isabella County.
Memorial Contributions were suggested to the wishes of the family, envelopes were available at the church and at Helms Funeral Home.
Esther was born on Friday, February 28, 1919 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Stanley W. and Ruth (McGowan) Ostrander
She had been a resident of the Mt. Pleasant area for 32 years. Esther was a teacher in Parochial Schools, and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, and also a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant.
She is survived by her children: Ethel Mae Kellum, JoAnn (Al) Bucco, and Ron (Linda) Smades; 12 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren; a brother Ward and a sister Lois.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Shirley and a brother Clark

James Floyd Green, Sr.
May 20, 1929 - September 11, 2005

James Floyd Green, Sr., age 76, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2005 at his home.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 17, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. from the Helms Funeral Home in Mt.Pleasant with Rev. James Reamsma officiating. Interment followed at Chippewa Township cemetery in Isabella County.
Friends may gather with the family at Helms Funeral Home on Thursday and Friday, September 15 and 16, 2005 from 5-8 p.m.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the wishes of the family.
James was born on Monday, May 20, 1929 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to William Floyd and Malinda Louise (Pontiac) Green.
He married Annie Lena Luchene. James was a resident of the Mt. Pleasant area since 1995. He was a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe and was self employed as a musician.
James is survived by his children: Jo Anne Green, Helen (Larry) North, Violet Linda Green, Donna Marie (Dan) Willems, Mary Kay (Sylvester) Green-Mott, James Floyd Green, Jr., Anna Marie (James) Roney, Loyce Ann Green, William Thomas (Dawn) Green; step-children: Albert, Martha, and Grace; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters Opal Ramsey, Violet Zeeryp, Beatrice Hale, Robert (Laurie) Hinmon, Bruce (Vera) Hinmon, Celia (James) Osawabine; Many Nieces and Nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, of more than 50 years, Annie in 2001; his parents; sisters: Mary Ann and Wanetia; brothers Thomas Green and LeRoy Hinmon; granddaughter Belinda Ann Green; grandson Thomas James Green; great granddaughter Marticella Green.
