Schrock, Kenneth Ray
April 4, 1928 - July 22, 2002

Ken was born in Riverdale, Michigan to Otis and Nellie Schrock. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Amy Helen, brothers Otto and Arthur, brother-in-law Charles McMacken and granddaughter Angela Schrock.

Ken served his country two years during World War II in the Navy as a cook, stationed in Asia. He was a lifetime member of the Borley Hanel VFW Post 3303 of Mt. Pleasant.

As a young man, Ken was a milk deliveryman for the Sealtest Company. He founded Mt. Pleasant Fence Company in 1956, and later expanded the business to become Mt. Pleasant Fence, Sash and Door, which has served the community for 46 years.

Ken was a charter member of the Civitans and a former member of the Jaycees. He was also a charter member of the Remodlers Council of Central Michigan, member of the Central Michigan Home Builders Association, and the Mt. Pleasant Chamber of Commerce. He served on the Mt. Pleasant City Commission, (he was the youngest member to be elected at that time) and served as manager of the Isabella County Fair for several years.

Ken faithfully served Mt. Pleasant as a Volunteer Firefighter for 35 years.

Ken was an avid racecar fan and was a mere 6 years old when he listened to his first Indy race on the radio. In those days, races lasted 8 hours and Kenny’s parents let him run down the radio batteries so he could enjoy the race. That was the beginning of a yearly tradition. As an adult, he attended the Indy time trials for nearly 30 years.

Ken is survived by his wife Bonnie (Tupper) of 39 years, a son Bruce (Sandy) Schrock of Mt. Pleasant, four daughters, Marcia (Kevin) Collins of Port Huron, Judy (Tupper) and her husband Mike McCrackin of Mt. Pleasant, Connie (Tupper) Latham of Weidman, Debora (Tupper) and her husband Don Parnell of St. Simons Island, Georgia, 11 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, sisters Florence McMacken of Shepherd and Treva (Frank) McNeal of Riverdale, sisters in law Vera and Annabel Schrock, and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has already taken place according to his wishes.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the family, at his wishes. Envelopes will be available at the memorial service.

A memorial service celebrating Ken’s life will be held at the Clark Funeral Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 27th with Mr. David B. Schrock officiating.

John, Ellen L.
December 20, 1901 - July 21, 2002

Ellen L. John, age 100, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility on July 21, 2002.

Funeral Services for Ellen will be held on Thursday, June 25, at 11 a.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel with Jason Constantine officiating. Interment will follow in the Chippewa Township cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 24, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Countryside United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Ellen was born December 20, 1901, to David Bird and May M. (Cleveland) Goodnough-Foutch. She graduated from MPHS in 1919 and CMNS (now CMU) in 1921. She taught art until her marriage to Maurice E. John on December 23, 1925, in Muskegon. She painted flowers on furniture in a Grand Rapids furniture factory. In 1930, the depression caused big changes so she and her family moved to the farm on East Broadway where they lived for 42 years. She was a farmer’s wife and homemaker until Maurice retired in 1972. They liked to travel and a highlight was the People to People Goodwill Tour of Europe, including Russia in the early 60’s. Some of their trips here in the U.S. were tracing family history. She spent hours on genealogy and leaves extensive family records going back over nine centuries.

Ellen was an active member of the Countryside UMC for many years. She taught Sunday School, was a member of the United Methodist Women, and served the church in many ways.

Ellen is survived by a son, Maurice (Patricia) John, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter, Elna Mae (John) Whiting of Charlotte; daughter-in-law Valerie Fern John-Lower; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Maurice, in 1989; son, David in 1963; an infant daughter; parents and 2 sisters.

Liston, Robert K.
March 16, 1928 - July 21, 2002

Robert K. Liston, 74, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2002, at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility.

Funeral arrangements are pending.

Gould, Dorothy Jean
April 13, 1921 - July 21, 2002

Dorothy J. Gould, age 81, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Sunday, July 21, at Tendercare of Mt. Pleasant.

A Memorial Service for Dorothy will be held on Wednesday, July 24th, at 11 a.m. at the Clark Funeral Chapel. Rev. John Boley of the First United Methodist Church will officiate.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 24th, from 10 a.m. until time of service at the Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Tendercare of Mt. Pleasant or to the church of donors choice envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Dorothy was born April 13, 1921 in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of William R. Collinson and Marion V. (Vasold) Collinson. Dorothy graduated from Midland High School in 1939. She married Don F. Gould December 7, 1941, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dorothy was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church, a proud member of the Mary Martha Circle, a member of the Groovy Granies Golf Group, served on the Central Michigan Hospital Auxillary, and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Zonta Club.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Don F. Gould of Mt. Pleasant; children, Pirscila (William C.) Adams, Emily (David) Goffnett, both of Mt. Pleasant and William F. (Delores) Gould of Beal City; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Mary Peterson of Tallahassee, Florida.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son, James A. Gould III, and 1 brother John Collinson.

Wilson, Larry G.
July 18, 1949 - July 15, 2002

Larry G. Wilson passed away Monday, July 15, 2002, at his home in Saginaw.

Larry worked for Romanoff Company at Dow Chemical in Midland. He served in the U.S. Navy. He loved to dance, and in 1974 was a dance instructor for the Fred Astaire Studio in Saginaw. Larry was a loving father, son and brother, and was kind to all around him.

Larry was born July 18, 1949, son of Gerald L. Wilson and Mary E. Tyler. He is survived by his daughter Lona and her husband Mike Rose of New Bern, NC; mother Mary E. Tyler and stpefather Richard Tyler of Weidman; stepmother Betty Wilson of Mt. Pleasant; brother Robert L. Wilson (Mary) of Canton, MI; stepsister Linda L. Wight (Richard) of Weidman; stepbrother John J. Tyler (Laurie) of Mt. Pleasant, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his father Gerald L. Wilson and maternal and paternal grandparents.

Neeland, Mary Jane
April 13, 1921 - July 11, 2002

Mary Jane Neeland, 81, of Bloomfield Hills, formerly of Rosebush, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2002, at the Bloomfield Hills Care Center.

Funeral Services for Mary Jane be held on Monday, July 15, at 1 p.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel with Rev. Richard Fulkerson of Central Michigan Free Methodist officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodland cemetery in Rosebush.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 15, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Mary Jane was born April 13, 1921, in Rosebush, the daughter of Edwin and Mildred (Loomis) Neeland. She had been employed at St. Elizabeth Briarbank in food service where she resided since the 1960s. Mary Jane attended Rosebush Methodist Church when she was younger.

Mary Jane is survived by her brother Frank Neeland of Rosebush, her sisters Florence Adams and Agnes Neeland, both of Mt. Pleasant, 2 nieces and 2 nephews, Nita Edgerly of Flint and Ruth Messer of Gladwin and Robert Neeland of Rosebush and Tom Adams of Wheeler, and great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents.

Sisco, Wayne Myrl
July 12, 1924 - July 10, 2002

Wayne Myrl Sisco, 77, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at Tendercare in Mt. Pleasant with his family by his side.

Funeral Services for Wayne will be held on Sunday, July 14, at 2 p.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel with Pastor Marvin Eldridge officiating. Interment will follow in North Brinton cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 12, from 7 until 9 p.m. and on Saturday, July 13, 2002, from 4 until 9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Tendercare of Mt. Pleasant or a church of donor’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the Clark Funeral Chapel.

Wayne was born July 12, 1924, in Isabella County, the son of Orie and Margaret (Darnell) Sisco. He married Lilah Terry on January 18, 1946, in Mecosta Co. They celebrated their 56th anniversary this year. Wayne was the Deputy Sheriff, retiring after 24 years of service. He worked as a groundskeeper at the State Home Regional Center. Wayne served in WWII as a Marine, Private 1st Class. He was a member of the Weidman V.F.W. and F.O.P (Fraternal Order of Police).

Wayne is survived by his wife Lilah Sisco of Lake; two daughters, Julie Lassen of Lake and Arlene (Douglas) Elias of Beal City; two sons, David Sr. (Colleen) Sisco of Lake and Robert (Susan) Sisco of Weidman; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Virgil (Emma) Sisco of Lake; a sister, Gertrude Sperry of Mt. Pleasant.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.

Miller, Brody Michael
January 28, 2002 - July 10, 2002

On January 28, 2002 a beautiful, precious baby was born to Amanda Miller and Jeremy Dashner, and his name was Brody Michael.

We celebrated his life for just five short months and on July 10, 2002, our little angel went back home to heaven.

Dear little Brody, we thank you for sharing time with us. We love and miss you. Your grandparents Michael and Marnie Miller, Pam Dashner and Brian Curtis, Rick Dashner, great grandparents Mary Barrett, John and Gladys Miller, Emma David, Dick and Barb Dashner; Aunts and Uncles Andrea, Andy and Dawn.

Brody, you’ll also be missed by many great aunts and uncles and lots of cousins.

Mommy and Daddy will miss you little peanut. Love you always.
Your time with us was short but you’ll live on forever in our hearts.

For all of Amanda and Jeremy’s family and friends who have lent support and followed Brody’s progress, we will have a visitation at the Clark Funeral Chapel on Saturday, July 13th, from 5–8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be greatly appreciated.

Dagwell, Esther Jane
November 5, 1913 - July 9, 2002

Esther Jane Dagwell, 88, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Midland, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2002, at the Wooden Rocker in Mt. Pleasant with her family by her side.

A Funeral Mass for Jane will be held on Thursday, July 11, at 11 a.m. from St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Rosebush with Fr. Jeffrey Donner and Sr. Mary Ellen McDonald co-officiating. Interment will follow in St. Henry’s cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 11, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Rosebush. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or a charity of donor’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the church or Clark Funeral Chapel.

Jane was born November 5, 1913, in Clare, the daughter of John and Helen (Coots) Doherty. She married Theron “Ted” Dagwell on June 30, 1950, in Clare. Jane graduated from Marquette University with a degree in journalism. She had worked as a journalist for the Midland Daily News for 25 years. Jane lived most of her life in Midland. She was a long-time member of Blessed Sacrament Church.

Jane is survived by her sister-in-law Frances Doherty of Milwaukee, WI and her nieces and nephews.

Jane was preceded in death by her father John Doherty in 1952; her mother Helen Doherty in 1966; her husband Ted in 1986; 3 brothers, Dr. Wendell Doherty, Michael Doherty, Robert Doherty; and one sister Mary Helen McConnell.

Werner, Drew Clinton
September 14, 1949 - July 3, 2002

Drew Clinton Werner, 52, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on July 3, 2002.

Cremation has taken place.

Snider, Dale Allen
January 2, 1956 - July 3, 2002

Dale Allen Snider, 46, of Rosebush, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw as a result of a motorcycle accident.

Funeral Services for Dale will be held on Saturday, July 6, at 10 a.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joe Wentworth of Central Assembly of God officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 5 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Dale was born on January 2, 1956, in Reed City, the son of Rayfield and Margarie (Brown) Snider. Dale married Coralee Shaner in Big Rapids on June 14, 1973. He was self-employed as an auto mechanic in Dale’s Body Shop. Dale loved his grandbabies. He enjoyed snowmobiling and riding his Harley motorcycle.

Dale is survived by his wife, Coralee Snider of Rosebush; his children Clifford Randall (LeeAnn) of Clare and his grandchildren Klista, Cody, Dana, Randall; his mother Margarie Snider; his brother James Snider of Mt. Pleasant, his sister Judy Scheid (Ron) of Mason; his Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Doyle Brown; his 29 nephews and nieces and 33 great nephews and nieces.

Dale was preceded in death by his father Rayfield Snider; his brothers Tom, Ed, and Ford Snider; his sisters Janet Parker, Mary Herriff, and Peg Sharp.
