Pastor William Francis Foldesi
August 11, 1952 - April 7, 2007

Pastor William Francis Foldesi, age 54, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at Central Michigan Community Hospital in Mt. Pleasant.
Pastor Bill was born on Monday, August 11, 1952 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, the son of Julius S. and Imogene Mary (Walker) Foldesi. On Friday, December 10, 1976, he married Deborah Weston in Mt. Pleasant. He was a lifetime area resident.
Pastor Bill was a United Methodist Minister, serving many churches in the area. He was currently appointed to the North Star United Methodist Church, the Pompeii United Methodist Church, the Perrinton United Methodist Church, and the Middleton United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and his collection of ducks and pigs. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors of Pastor Bill include his wife, Deborah, and his son, Andrew. He was also survived by two brothers, Robert (Nancy) Foldesi and James (Shari) Foldesi both of California; two sisters, Sally Weide of Grand Rapids and Susan (Peter) Bierschbach of Midland; a brother-in-law, Dennis Schafer, a sister-in-law, Denise Noyes, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pastor Bill was preceded in death by both of his parents, his mother and father-in-law, Kenneth and Shirley Weston, his sister-in-law, Donna, and his brothers-in-law, Rick and Dale
Funeral Services were held on Thursday, April 12, 2007 at 11 a.m. from the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant with Dr. William D. Dobbs, Rev. John Boley, and Rev. Melody Olin officiating. Interment followed the funeral service in Coomer cemetery, Isabella County, Michigan. Friends gathered with the family at the Helms Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant on Tuesday, April 10 from 6-8 p.m., on Wednesday, April 11 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday, April 12 from 10 a.m. until service time at the First United Methodist Church. The family suggested memorial contributions in Pastor Bills memory be made to a church of the donors choice, or to the Neurofibromatosis Foundation.

Colleen A. Barnett
April 8, 1926 - April 3, 2007

Colleen A. Barnett, age 80, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, April 03, 2007 at Tendercare Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Helms Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with Rev. Natalia Walsh of the Living Word Church of Midland officiating. Interment followed the service in Riverside cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, beside her husband, Newt. Friends gathered with the family on Friday, April 6 from 5-8 p.m. and again on Saturday, April 7 from 10 a.m. until service time.
Memorial contributions were suggested to the Perry W. Barnett Welding Scholarship Fund, Paul D. Camp Community College, 100 N. College Drive, Franklin, Virginia 23851
Colleen was born on April 8, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of William L. and Mabel (Cook) Masterson. She married Newton E. Barnett on June 21, 1947. Newt preceded her in death on February 2, 2002. She was a resident of Mt. Pleasant for many years, and was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and was known for her generosity and compassion for others in the community. The family would like to thank the staff at Tendercare and her special friends, Bernice and Pat.
Colleen was survived by her niece, Laura (Tim) Corcoran and their son, Craig; grandchildren: Jenniffer, Aleise, Max and Zek Barnett, plus many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Newt on February 2, 2002, her son Perry on March 7, 2007, her son Paul on March 2, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Raymond, Gilbert, Walter and Emmett Masterson, and two sisters, Audrey Albin and Arline Masterson.

Hazel Marie Gibson
July 11, 1925 - March 17, 2007

Hazel Marie Gibson, age 81, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Country Place Senior Center, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
Private memorial services will be held for the family at a later time.
The family has suggested memorial contributions in Hazels memory to Hospice of Central Michigan. Envelopes are available at the Helms Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.
Hazel was born on Saturday, July 11, 1925 in Mesick, Michigan, the daughter of Leslie and Lily Daisey (Parker) Stearns. She married Leslie Gibson, who preceded her in death. For twenty years, Hazel was employed as a caretaker at the Mt. Pleasant Regional Center. She enjoyed reading and playing cards.
Survivors include her children: David Sniff of Oceanside, California, Marvin Sniff of Escanaba, Michigan, Kathleen and Glen Matis of Ypsilanti, Michigan, and Janice Bauman of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a sister, Jessie Krause of Okemos, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie, both parents, two brothers, one sister, and a grandson, Michael Dougherty.

Ardath E. Maxon
April 21, 1914 - March 15, 2007

Ardath E. Maxon, 93, died Thursday, March 15, 2007 in Mt Pleasant. She was born in Rupert, Idaho on Tuesday, April 21, 1914 and came to the Mt Pleasant area as a small child.
She married Thomas H. Maxon on February 11, 1937 and they spent 57 happy years together. On Toms retirement from the Detroit Police Department they returned to Mt Pleasant and built a home in Deerfield Township where they resided fifteen years until Toms death in 1994. She remained in their home for another seven years until relocating to Maplewood, Assisted Living. Ardath loved the woods and rural living in Deerfield and was devoted to her family and friends. In her later years she enjoyed visiting with CMU students and was known as an interesting authority on local history.
Ardath is survived by her son, Brent P. Maxon, (Jeanne); her grandchildren, Dawn E. Maxon (Anthony Grabowski) and Brent P. Maxon, Jr. (Michelle). She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Eric T. Maxon, Jason M. Maxon, and Alexander J. Grabowski.
Visitation was held at Helms Funeral Home in Mt Pleasant on Sunday, March 18th, from 3 to 6 p.m., followed by memorial services at 6 p.m. with Rev. Melody Olin of the Winn United Methodist Church officiating. Interment took place in Broomfield Township cemetery, Isabella County, Michigan. Memorial contributions were suggested to Hospice of Central Michigan in lieu of flowers.

John Christopher Yount
April 11, 1962 - March 9, 2007

John Christopher Young, age 44, of Amelia, Ohio, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 9, 2007 in Cincinnati, Ohio after a brief illness.
John was born on Wednesday, April 11, 1962 at Wurtsmith Air Force Base, Oscoda, Michigan. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. He understood the importance that computers were going to play in our future, and pursued further education at Devry University of Columbus, Ohio.
After receiving his Bachelors degree, he worked in the legal and insurance industry. He was a loyal, hardworking and dependable employee. For the last fourteen years, he worked with the same people as the business had been reorganized, relocated or purchased three times from Columbus, Ohio to Louisville, Kentucky, and finally to Cincinnati, Ohio.
John very much enjoyed time with his friends. He enjoyed gambling and bowling. He enjoyed puzzles, such as the rubix cube, which he could do with ease. He enjoyed working with his hands. Upon relocating to Cincinnati, he had purchased his first home, an accomplishment of which he was immensely proud. He also collected comic books and baseball cards.
John always had aquariums as an adult and at the time of his death, he had two very large tanks of beautiful fish. Whatever John did, he did seriously and methodically within his means and on his terms. He was a kind and decent man.
John is survived by his parents, Charles and Eunice Yount of Mt. Pleasant; brothers, Charles Yount, Jr. of Flint, Michigan, Michael Yount of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, and Joseph Yount of Ann Arbor, Michigan; sister, Diana Yount of Lansing, Michigan. Nieces, Sonya, Amber, Crystal, Amanda, Allison, and Megan Yount. John spent many hours entertaining his nieces playing cards and board games. Johns godparents are Betty Lutz and Alice Eschenbacher, both of Bay City, Michigan. John had many aunts, uncles, cousins, and more friends than can be listed.
The family would like to thank the staff at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio Neuro-Intensive Care Unit and the kind people at Western and Southern Life Insurance Company for their generosity and support during this difficult time.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Samuel Reith officiating. Interment took place in Memorial Gardens, Mt. Pleasant following the funeral service. A luncheon followed at the church.
Memorial contributions were suggested to Good Samaritan Hospital, Neuro-Intensive Care Unit, 375 Dixmyth Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220.

Dale L. Joslin
June 6, 1928 - March 05, 2007

Dale L. Joslin, age 78, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan passed away on Monday, March 05, 2007 at Tendercare of Mt. Pleasant, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
Funeral services were held on Friday, March 9, 2007 at 11 a.m. from the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. John Boley officiating. Interment followed the service in Riverside cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.
Friends gathered with the family on Wednesday, March 7 from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday, March 8 from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. at the Helms Funeral Home and again on Friday, March 9 from 10 a.m. until service time at the First United Methodist Church.
The family suggested memorial contributions in Dale memory to the First Untied Methodist Church or Hospice of Central Michigan.
Dale was born on Wednesday, June 6, 1928 in Clare, Michigan, the son of Roy E. and Mamie (Schlafley) Joslin. He married the former Janet Sills on June 21, 1947 in Clare. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in June. Dale was a resident of Mt. Pleasant since 1955. Dale was a plumber and co-owner of Mid-State Plumbing for 50 years. He was a member of the Plumbers Union Local #85 in Saginaw. Memberships included the Elks Club in Naples, Florida, the Mt. Pleasant Moose Lodge, the Wabon Masonic Lodge #305 F&AM in Mt. Pleasant, and the Vacation Wonderland Shriners. He was a big supporter of the CMU Chippewa Club and CMU sports. Dale enjoyed spending winters and walking on the beach with Janet in Naples, Florida.
Survivors include his wife, Janet; three children: Judy and H. Thomas Berryman of Battle Creek, Michigan, Diane Joslin-Gould and Dan Gould of Bath, Michigan, and Andrew and Merry Joslin of Rocklin, California; grandchildren: Kim Martin, Emily Kahn, Sean Kubik, Sam Joslin, Joe Joslin, Chelsea Gould, Ariel Gould, Stephanie Alsaro, Megan Berryman, Amelia Hall, and Eva Vicari; a brother, James Joslin of Mt. Pleasant; along with many loving nieces and nephews.
Dale was preceded in death be his parents, and three brothers: Leo, Neal and Rex Joslin.

Thomas Lloyd Keelean
January 22, 1947 January 25, 2008

Thomas Lloyd Keelean, age 61, 0f Blanchard, Michigan, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2008 at his home.
Tom was born on Wednesday, January 22, 1947 in Cadillac, Michigan, the son of Lloyd and Frances (Brimmer) Keelean. He spent most of his life in the area.
Tom, having never married , took great pleasure in his extended family of nieces, nephews, and their off springs. He thoroughly enjoyed family gatherings especially when all the little ones were in attendance. He enjoyed summertime and his yard which was always planted with flowers and summertime plants. Tom could always be counted on by the family when situations arose and had his own special way of letting them know he was there for them. Tom was the used equipment manager for Morbark, Inc. having worked there for 39 years. He enjoyed his job and the fellow employees he worked with and had no plans to retire any time soon. Tom was a veteran of the US Army having served in Germany from 1966 to 1967.
Survivors include seven brothers and sisters, Patricia (Louis) Fox of Venice, FL, Roger (Vera) Keelean of Aston, WA, Norma (Larry) Burkholder of Bradenton, FL, Barbara (Dan) Heanke of Blanchard, Rosalie (Keith) Woodruff of Lake Isabella, and Kitty Lynch (sister in law) of Dearborn; and sixteen nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jim, sister Becky, and nephew Kevin Heanke.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 11 a.m. from the Helms Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Mr. Jeff Gritton officiating. Interment took place in Union cemetery, Winn, Michigan following the funeral services. Friends gathered with the family on Tuesday, January 29 from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions in Toms memory were suggested to the Juvenile Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association, or the Kidney Cancer Foundation

Mary E. Lind
July 4, 1909 - January 25, 2008

Mary E. Lind, 98, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2008, at Tendercare Mt. Pleasant where she had been residing since August 2005.
Funeral Services were held at Coomer Methodist Church, 5410 S. Vandecar Rd., Mt. Pleasant, MI on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Melody Olin officiating. The family received friends from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral service. Graveside services and burial were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at the Potomac cemetery, Potomac, Illinois.
Mary was born July 4, 1909 to Charley F. and Mabel (Biedemann) Wyman in Danville, IL and lived on her familys farm on Eight-Mile Prairie near Jamesburg, IL until her fathers death in 1929. Her family then moved to Danville. Mary trained as a teacher at Illinois Normal and taught in local schools in the rural area for about nine years. She was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Auxillary for years and did part-time work at the U.S. Post Office at Christmas time over a period of several years. She also served as an election judge in the Danville area.
Mary was married to Samuel A. Lind on January 15, 1938. They had three children: Sally (Lawrence) Foote of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Nelda Williams (Joseph, deceased) of El Paso, TX and John C. (Kelley) Lind of Ulm, MT. She had eight grandchildren: Will E. (Candace) Foote of St. Paul, MN, Lt. Col. Wade A. (Carla) Foote of West Point NY, Karl W. Foote of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Ellen (A.J.) Hacker of Indianapolis, IN, Joelle Pratts of El Paso, TX, John (Julie) Williams of Kalamazoo, MI, Joshua Lind of Great Falls, MT and Jerrica Lind of Bozeman, MT. There are 10 great-grandchildren; Dylan and Emma Foote of St. Paul, MN, Beth, Matt and Anne Foote of West Point, NY, Sara and Rachel Hacker of Indianapolis, IN, Chelsea Pratts of El Paso, TX, Zoie and Samantha Williams of Kalamazoo, MI.
Mary enjoyed traveling with her children and their families. She left Danville in 1995 and made her home with her daughter, Nelda Williams, in El Paso, TX. In 2003 she moved to Mt. Pleasant, MI to live with her oldest daughter, Sally Foote, followed by a move to Tendercare in August 2005.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Mildred (David) Wilson, and her husband. Memorials to Mary Lind may be made to the Coomer Church in Mt. Pleasant.

Dale E. McDonald
July 19, 1919 - January 24, 2008

Dale E. McDonald, 88, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at his home.
Following Dales wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial luncheon was held on Sunday, January 27, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Black Creek Conservation Club.
Dale was born on Friday, July 11, 1919, the son of Elwood and Marie (Kirkey) McDonald. In 1940, he married the former Marjean Bunker. She passed away in 1990. In 1999, he married Laura Petrie.
Dale was a lifetime area resident. After graduating from Sacred Heart Academy, he worked for his uncle, Dutch Kirkey. He then worked in the oil field for Roosevelt Oil, before going to work for CMU, retiring in 1982 after 22 years of service. He enjoyed his woodshop, playing cards, fishing, hunting, and traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Laura, a step-son, Douglas (Heather) Kirk; granddaughter, Stephanie Weigold; a sister, Frances Jones; three special nephews, Mike and Joe Jones, and Harold (Doris) McDonald Jr.; many other nieces and nephews; his good friends, Ed and Doris Zuker, Kim and Roy Hibbs, Sheila Denslow, and Ron and Kim Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marjean, two brothers, and two sisters.

LewElla Freida Swan
December 25, 1932 - January 24, 2008

LewElla Freida Swan, age 75, of Sanford, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2008, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center, Midland, Michigan
Funeral services were held on Sunday, January 27, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Helms Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Dr. Frederick Weaver of the North Point Ministries officiating. Interment followed the funeral service in Memorial Gardens cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Friends gathered with the family on Saturday, January 26 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and again on Sunday, January 27 from 1 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions were suggested to the needs of Zach Swan, LewEllas grandson. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
LewElla was born on Sunday, December 25, 1932 in Oil City, Michigan, the daughter of Bernard Liston and Susie (Grubb) Blizzard. On January 20, 1951, she married William Lester Swan in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. She was a resident of the Sanford area since 1953.
LewElla called herself a domestic engineer, and cleaned houses for other people. She was a member of the North Point Ministries. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, sewing, antique dolls, and her cats. She was the type of person people enjoyed being with, and drew people, especially children, to her for her warmth and friendship.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, William; two children, Mike and Chris Swan of Midland, and Michelle and Glen Wilmes of Minnesota; seven grandchildren, Teryn, Zach, Garret, Dylan, Michael, Shawn, and Naomi; three brothers, Liston and Katie Blizzard, Mike and Ruth Blizzard, and Donnie and Vickie Blizzard, and a sister, Catherine Morrison. She was preceded in death by a son, Bernard William Swan, three daughters, Susan Kay, Linda Lou, and Gwendolyn, her mother and father; three brothers, Junior, Bill and Louis Tiney; mother-in-law: Wreatha Cowell; mother and father-in-law, Gladys and Lester Swan; and two brother-in-laws, Robert and Francis Swan.
