December 31, 1928 - June 7, 2005

Lois J. Foutch, age 76, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at Mid Michigan Regional Medical Center, Midland, Michigan.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 10, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Helms Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Stephan Shook of the Alma Church of the Nazarene officiating. Internment will take place in Chippewa Township cemetery, Isabells County, Michigan.
Friends may gather with the family on Thursday, June 9 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Helms Funeral Home.
Lois was born on December 31, 1928 in Chippewa Township, Isabella County, Michigan to Everett and Viola (Smith) Bernard. She married Ross Foutch on October 13, 1947 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. She was a lifetime area resident. Lois was self employed as a housekeeper for many years.
Lois is survived by her husband, Ross; a daughter, Sharon J.and Richard Grass of Shepherd; an granddaughter: heather (Grass) and Richard Woodworth of Oil City; and a grandson Richard Grass of Pennsylvania; Two great grandchildren Kyle Woodworth and Breanne Grass; five sisters: Betty West of Mt. Pleasant, Peggy and Carl Wing of Riverdale, Nina Hitchcock of St. Louis, Helen and Bob Juhas of Breckenridge, and Erma Hamilton of Alma.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Dorothy Donley.

Caden Luc Washington
November 30, 2004 - June 6, 2005

Caden Luc Washington, age 6 months, son of Faith Washington of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, died on Monday, June 6, 2005 at home. A gathering of friends was held on Tuesday at Helms Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.

Charles Stanley Post
July 24, 1919 - June 6, 2005

Charles Stanley Post, age 85, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan passed away on Monday, June 6, 2005 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility. Charlie was born July 24, 1919, in Elwell, Michigan. He served in the 8th Army Air Corps in England during World War II. He retired from Local 706 Carpenters Union in 1985, and was a charter member and Commander of the Shepherd VFW Post 8215. Charlie was a member of the Mt. Pleasant First United Methodist Church. An avid fisherman and outdoorsman, he held all his children and grandchildren very close to his heart.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Phyllis of 59 years; four daughters, Ann (Edward) Hill of Norfolk, Virginia, Wendy (Robert Don) Kirby of Coldwater Lake, Michigan, Linda (Gerard) Poe of Tipton, Michigan, and Dora (Edward) Ennen of Holt, Michigan; seven grandsons; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, three sisters, and a granddaughter. Per Charlies wishes, there will be no funeral service, only a private family prayer service on Wednesday. Cremation has taken place. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church. Envelopes are available at the Helms Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.

Seymour Lester Brownie Brown
July 31, 1913 - June 5, 2005

Seymour Lester Brownie Brown, 91, of Mt Pleasant passed away on Sunday June, 5, 2005 at Oak Crest Health Care Center in Holland, Michigan.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday June 8, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Helms Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Ron Vredeveld officiating. Interment was at Memorial Gardens cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Friends gathered with the Family on Wednesday from 12 noon until time of the services at the funeral home. The family suggested memorial contributions be directed to the Alzheimers Association or to Hospice of Holland. Envelopes were available at the Helms Funeral Home.
Brownie was born on Thursday, July 31, 1913 in Consort, Alberta Province, Canada, the son of Charles Herbert and Bertha Lovica (Mallory) Brown. He married Ada Lorene Francis on November 20, 1942 in Dearborn, Michigan. Lorene preceded Brownie in death on February 11, 1997. He was a resident of Mt. Pleasant since 1937. He worked for U.S. Steel Corporation for over 41 years as a supervisor. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a member of the usher group. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and swimming.
Seymour is survived by his daughter, Cathy and Rich Arendsen of Holland, Michigan; two grandchildren, Troy (Jill) Inman and Matt (Stephanie) Inman; five great grandchildren, Kaley, Trevor, Bryce, Isaac, and Katelyn Inman; and a sister Medora E. Brown of Olean, New York.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lorene Brown on February 11, 1997; a son, Charles Brown; and a brother, Gerald Brown.

Thomas Dewey Brink, Sr.
July 15, 1928 - June 2, 2005

Thomas Dewey Brink, Sr., age 76, of Weidman, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2005 at Central Michigan Community Hospital in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. He was born on Sunday, July 15, 1928 in Highland Park, Michigan, the son of Clifford and Mary Inez Vrogendewey. He married Norma Jean Watt on June 30, 1951.
Tom was a resident of the Weidman area since 1998. He was retired from the United States Armed Forces, serving in both the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army as an airplane mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Jean; children: Charles, Mary, Carol, Tom Jr., and Samantha; also grandchildren: Dawn, David, Brandon, Terry, Tamara, Allen, Robert Jr., Kevin, Aaron, Ashley, Bryan, and Alyssa; eight plus great grandchildren; two sisters: Nan and Bobbie; and his special pets: Neko, Arwen, Louis, Goblin, and Pawz.
Memorial services were held on Monday, June 6, 2005 at 3:30 p.m. from the Helms Funeral Home with Pastor Craig L. Adams of the Weidman United Methodist Church officiating. Memorial contributions were suggested to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.

Jean Rae Gallagher
November 23, 1919 - June 1, 2005

Jean Cantello Gallagher, age 85, was the fourth of five daughters born to Isabel Mercy Fay and George Frank Cantello of Marlborough, Massachusetts.
Jean was reared and educated in Massachusetts and was married there to the late Edward F. Gallagher. They moved to Saginaw in 1956. Jean is survived by her three children, Fay Wilder of Mt. Pleasant and her adult children, Tiffany, Matthew, Christopher, Daniel, and Russell; Brent Gallagher of Saginaw and his adult children, Nickolas and Ross; and Paula Glass of Concord, California, who is an aunt to all; and nine great grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will take place on Sunday, June 5, 2005 from 1-6 p.m. at Jeans grandsons home, Christopher Wilder, 845 Caravelle, Skyway Subdivision, Carrolton, Michigan.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Helms Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.

Robert Lee Stickler
May 4, 1944 - June 1, 2005

Robert Lee Stickler, 61, of Shepherd died Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at his home peacefully, but unexpectedly.
Robert was born on May 4, 1944 in Lakeview to John E. and Ellen (Rose) Stickler. He married Donna Rae Smith of Mt. Pleasant on July 22, 1967. He was a lifetime resident of the area.
Robert was a dedicated father for more than 35 years and a devoted and loving husband for more than 38 years. He was a member of Local 67, UAW and worked at Lobdell-Emery / Oxford in Alma, for over 35 years. He was a longstanding board member at Gratiot Community Credit Union, and a Volunteer Fireman for Fremont Township. He was a graduate of Remus High School and Mid Michigan Community College, A Vietnam veteran, and affiliated with many different associations in the area. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family and his closest friends. Robert loved working, hunting, fishing, negotiating, tinkering around the house, working outside in the garden, and cooking. He loved to talk about his three boys and his grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his three sons and their wives, Michael and Vantresa of Annapolis, Maryland, David and Scheneithia of Novi, Michigan, and Jason and Angela of Shepherd; four grandchildren Jourdan, Rhemya, Dayana, and Aliyah; one brother, Richard (Joyce) Stickler of Lakeview; and two sisters, Delores (William) Raglin of Blanchard and Carol (Jeff) Childers of Sheridan.
His wife, Donna, and his parents preceded Robert in death.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 6, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Helms Funeral Home. Internment was in the Union cemetery in Winn. Memorial contributions were to the desires of the family.

Eunice E. Harlow
March 23, 1947 - May 25, 2005

Eunice Eloanor Harlow, age 58 of Weidman, passed away on Wednesday, May25, 2005 at The Laurels of Mt. Pleasant in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, June 5 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 14660 N. M-66, Remus, Michigan with Elder Jeff Galla officiating.
Eunice was born on Sunday, March 23, 1947 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan to Eli and Esther (Torres) Ramirez. She married Lon Harlow on October 11, 1969 in Midland, Michigan. Eunice was employed at AAA as an Assistant Manager in the Mt. Pleasant and Midland offices for 36 years. She was a member of the Jehovah's Witness in Remus. She collected porcelain dolls, beanie babies, and enjoyed shopping. She was very dedicated to her family.
Eunice is survived by her husband, Lon; a son Mark and his wife Teresa of Farwell; four grandchildren: Akayahia, Nikayli, Szajen, and Xavier; a brother Joseph and Mary Ramirez of Spartansburg, South Carolina; two sisters: Lois Schroeder of Ovid, MI, and Ruth and Harold Eberhart of Ann Arbor, MI; two nieces: Brooke and Monika; and two nephews: Matthew and Matt.
Eunice was preceded in death by both parents and two brothers, Enoch and Abel.

Theodore Ted Clayton Smith
September 3, 1923 - May 19, 2005

Theodore Clayton Smith, age 81, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2005 at Central Michigan Community Hospital in Mt. Pleasant. Ted was born on Monday, September 3, 1923 in Weidman, Michigan, the son of Clayton and Clara (Havaland) Smith. On March 30, 1979, he married Ealnor Van Orden in Mt. Pleasant.
Ted was retired from the Mt. Pleasant Regional Center as a Supervisor, with 27 years of service. He enjoyed gardening, working on his lawn, camping, and going to the casino. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Pacific Theater in the 720th Military Police Battalion during World War II. He was a Life Member of the Weidman VFW Post.
Ted is survived by his wife, Ealnor; children: James and Sue Smith, William and Sue Durfee, and Lujean and Oscar Marin; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two brothers: Ray and Bea Smith and Wayne Smith. He was preceded in death by a son, Roger, both parents, one brother, Virgil, and a ½ sister, Melisa.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at 2 p.m. from the Helms Funeral Home with Rev. Doyle Perry officiating. Interment took place in Riverside cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.

Edwin Kaler McIntosh
May 9, 1917 - May 17, 2005

Edwin Kaler McIntosh, age 88, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at his home. Ed was born on Wednesday, May 9, 1917 in Carllinville, Illinois, the son of James William and Sadie Maud (Kaler) McIntosh. On June 18, 1949, he married Kathleen Downhour in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Ed was a resident of the Mt. Pleasant area since 1932. He worked for a period of time in the oil fields as a roustabout and truck driver. In 1933, Edwin and his father planted what would become McIntosh Orchard. During World War II, Ed served as a 1st Lieutenant in the 177th Engineer General Service Regiment. In 1946, Ed returned to Mt. Pleasant and operated the Orchard until his death. In addition to participation in Township and Isabella County government, Ed was a lifelong Rotarian, a Paul Harris Fellow, and a 32nd Degree Freemason.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen McIntosh, his children: James, Nancy, and Andrew McIntosh; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters: Dorothy Zelleke and Janet Keil. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at 11 a.m. from the First United Methodist Church with Rev. John Boley officiating. Interment followed in Riverside cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. The Family requested that memorial contributions be directed to Hospice of Central Michigan, the Salvation Army, or a charity of ones choosing

Perry C. Cain
February 2, 1925 - May 14, 2005

Perry C. Cain, age 80, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2005 at his home. Perry was born on Monday, February 2, 1925 in Smithfield, West Virginia, the son of B.B. and Zona (LeMasters) Cain. On April 12, 1947, he married Betty Kendall in Smithfield. Betty preceded Perry in death on October 28, 1992. They moved to the Mt. Pleasant area in 1960.
Perry worked in the area oil fields for several different oil companies, retiring from the Long and Wetzel Company. He enjoyed gardening, deer hunting, long drives in the country. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren, often playing dominos with them. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II in Africa and Italy. He was wounded in action in both areas, receiving Purple Hearts for both wounds.
Survivors include his children: Survivors include his children: Calvin and Raylene Cain of Shepherd, Fran Yarnell of Mt. Pleasant, Alvin and Keitha Cain of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Alan and Tracy Cain of Mt. Pleasant; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Thurman Cain of Lorain, Ohio; and a sister, Lois Alheit of Elyria, Ohio. His wife, Betty; a grandson, Anthony Scott Cain; a great granddaughter, Tiffany Joy McDonald; three sisters; and four brothers. Perry was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; a grandson, Anthony Scott Cain; a great granddaughter, Tiffany Joy McDonald; three sisters; and four brothers.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at 1 p.m. from the Helms Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Merritt Bongard officiating. Interment took place in Memorial Gardens, Mt. Pleasant. The family had suggested memorial contributions in Perry's memory to Hospice of Central Michigan.
