Marie Simmons

Marie Simmons, 88, of Center Line, died Sunday, April 16, 2000, at Providence Hospital, Novi. She was born April 19, 1911, in Henry County, Tenn.

Mrs. Simmons is survived by her daughters, Dorothy (Myron) Murto and Kay White; sister, Sarah Roberts of Bruceton, Tenn.; grandchildren, Deborah (Tim) Warner, David (Kathie) Murto, Jason White and Jeffrey (Kelley) White; and great-grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Jonathan, and Rachel. She was predeceased by her husband, Nolen "Dud" Simmons.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 23919 John R, Hazel Park, with the Revs. Wayne Crist and Rob White officiating. Burial will be in Oakview cemetery, Royal Oak.

Visitation is 3-9 p.m. today and 1-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Kidney Foundation.

Floyd Skinner

Floyd Skinner, 83, a 43-year Clinton Township resident, died Tuesday, April 4, 2000, in Dade City, Fla. He was born Aug. 4, 1916, in Lapeer.

Mr. Skinner was an avid boater who spent his winters in Zephyrhills, Fla., for 20 years. He was also a U.S. military veteran and a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

He is survived by his wife, Rose (nee Eitel); children, Katherine Martin, Randy L. (Deborah), Cheryl and Mark Bunarek; brother, Earl (Shirley) Maxfield; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Frank J. Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 E. 15 Mile Road, Sterling Heights, with the Rev. Chester Dundas officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Pasco, 13933 17th Street, Dade City, Fla., 33525.

Visitation is 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday.

Allan E. Vinson

Allan E. Vinson, 70, of Warren, died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at New Port Richey, Fla. He was born June 22, 1929, in Detroit.

Mr. Vinson retired in 1988 from Michigan Bell after 42 years as a switchman. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and enjoyed traveling and music.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughters, Cheryl (Jerry) Parr, Margo (Kevin) Lovelace, and Renae (Gilbert) Keysmith; sons, David (Carol) Vinson, and Daniel (Donna) Vinson; and 15 grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Warren Woods Church of the Nazarene, 14300 E. 13 Mile Road, Warren, with the Rev. Dennis Wegner officiating. Burial will be in Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, Clinton Township.

Visitation is 1-8 p.m. today at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, Warren, 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Macomb Christian School and Warren Woods Church of the Nazarene School.

Troy V. Blackwood

Troy V. Blackwood, 74, a resident of Warren for 32 years, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at St. Anthony's Nursing Home, Warren. He was born May 9, 1925, in Dallas, Texas.

Mr. Blackwood retired as a maintenance worker from Ford Motor Co.'s Van Dyke plant. He was a member of Menge VFW Post 6756 Center Line and was a veteran of a U.S. Navy Construction Battalion (Seabees) and served in World War II. He also enjoyed woodworking.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene M.; daughters, Bonnie (Thomas) Rissane of Hazel Park, Nancy (Bill) Diamond of Madison Heights; sons, Timothy of Prescott Valley, Ariz., and Daniel of Warren; sisters, Imogene Nuss of Hanceville, Ala., Shirley Gill of Huntsville, Ala.; brothers, James C. of Hayden, Ala., and Benny (Sandra) of Hanceville; and eight grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Ashley-Scott Funeral Home, 340 E. Nine Mile Road, Hazel Park. Burial will be in Johnson cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home, with a 7:30 p.m. VFW service.

Betty R. Creagh

Betty R. Creagh, 75, of St. Clair, died, Saturday, April 29, 2000, at River District Hospital, St. Clair. She was born March 28, 1925, in Detroit.

Mrs. Creagh is survived by her son, Jeffery K. (Rene) Creagh; and five grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward K. Creagh.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Gilbert Funeral Home, 1422 Michigan St., Algonac, with Sister Helen Williams officiating.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ruth V. Galloway

Ruth V. Galloway, 82, a resident of St. Clair Shores for 50 years, died Sunday, April 30, 2000, at Henry Ford Continuing Care, Roseville. She was born Nov. 9, 1917, in Webster Grove, Mo.

Mrs. Galloway was a retired dental assistant who worked for Charles R. Schmidt, D.D.S., for 25 years.

She is survived by her daughters, Sheila (James) LeTourneau, Maureen Galloway, Kathleen (Paul) Banner, Karon (Lou) Szczap, Peggy Galloway S.S.J., Joan (Sam) Licavoli, Ellen (Russell) Nagorsen and Therese (Keith) Konnie; sons, Brian (Jeanne) Galloway and Kevin (Jayne) Galloway; brothers, Ray (Dorothy) Clinard and Ken (Caroline) Clinard; sister, Jean (Al) Douras; 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, George; and son, Michael.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson, St. Clair Shores. Visitation is 3-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Neal E. Jacobson

Neal Elmer Jacobson, 72, a resident of Harrison Township for 12 years, died Sunday, April 30, 2000, at St. Joseph's Mercy of Macomb Hospital, Mount Clemens. He was born Feb. 10, 1928, in Iron Mountain.

Mr. Jacobson retired in 1983 after 32 years of service as a teacher with Van Dyke Public Schools. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Anne; daughter, Connie Richardson of Algonac; son, Mark (Valerie) Jacobson of St. Clair; grandchildren, Erin Hill, Adrian, Erin and Amy Richardson and their father Terry Richardson of Algonac.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot, Mount Clemens, with the Rev. Clifford Jordan officiating. An additional service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at the Grand Marais Methodist Church, Grand Marais.

Thomasine E. Jenuwine

Thomasine E. Jenuwine, 58, a resident of Armada Township for 42 years, died Sunday, April 30, 2000, at her home. She was born Nov. 21, 1941, in Detroit.

Mrs. Jenuwine was a farmer, a 4-H leader in the Ray Community 4-H Club, member and former board member of Macomb County Farm Bureau, and member of the Mount Clemens Farmers Market and St. Clement Catholic Church, Romeo.

She is survived by her husband, Dale; son, James (Joan) of Armada Township; daughters, Mary Jenuwine of Armada Township, Jo Ellen (John) Clark of Ray; grandchildren, Katherine and John N. Clark IV; brothers, William (Karen) Leto of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Lawrence (Jane) Leto of Delton, James Leto of Macomb Township, Timothy Leto of Coldwater and John Leto of Anchor Point, Ala.; sisters, Angela Brownstein of Mount Clemens, Mary Supp of Rochester and Kathleen Germaine of Birmingham.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Clement Catholic Church, 343 S. Main St., Romeo with the Rev. Stephen Reckker officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery, Clinton Township.

Visitation is 4-9 p.m. today and 1-9 p.m. Tuesday with a 7 p.m. rosary at Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, 11280 32 Mile Road, Romeo.

Memorial contributions may be made to Macomb County Crippled Children Fund.

Adolph M. Konopka

Adolph M. Konopka, 92, a resident of Sterling Heights for 20 years, died Friday, April 28, 2000, at Henry Ford Continuing Care Center, Roseville. He was born Jan. 12, 1908, in Scranton, Pa.

Mr. Konopka was a professional bowler who bowled for the Chrysler All-Stars and the Stroh Brewery Team. He was a member of the St. Edmund Senior Citizen Club and enjoyed dancing, singing, fishing and traveling to Florida.

He is survived by his daughters, Nancy (Paul) Cherry and Elaine (Ted) Dobski; grandchildren, Susan, Paula (Dave) Koch, Jeffrey and Christine; great-grandson, Harrison; and sisters, Lillian Wenderski and Ruth Rowley.

Funeral services will be held at 9:45 a.m. today, at D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover, Warren, 10:30 a.m. at St. Edmund Church 14025 12 Mile Road, Warren. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery, Clinton Township.

James W. Middleton

James William Middleton, 71, of Fraser, died Sunday, April 30, 2000.

Mr. Middleton is survived by his sons, Gordon (Donna), Paul (Diane); daughters, Marilyn (Spence), Julie (Doug); grandchildren, Todd, John, Jason, Tara, Holly, Heather and John Jr.; great-grandson, Anthony; brother, Clarence; and sisters Thelma and June. He was predeceased by his sister, Betty.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica, Fraser. Burial will be in St. John cemetery, Fraser.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today and 5-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ralph D. Moroni

Ralph D. Moroni, 78, of Roseville, died Friday, April 28, 2000, at Mount Clemens General Hospital. He was born March 17, 1922, in Detroit.

Mr. Moroni retired as a line supervisor from Chrysler Corp. He was awarded five Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart for his service in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a member of VFW Post 2358.

He is survived by his wife, Rose; sons, David, Gerald (Mari-Lynne) and Joseph (Janis); daughters, Pamela (Jerry) Kraft and Mary (Blaine) Gignac; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson, St. Clair Shores. Burial will be in Sacred Heart cemetery, Roseville.

Visitation is 2:30-9 p.m. today at the funeral home, with a 6:30 p.m. VFW Post 2358 ritual service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Capuchin Monastery.
