Walter A. Murray

Walter A. Murray, 45, a resident of Clinton Township for three years, died Saturday, April 29, 2000, at Bon Secours Hospital, Grosse Pointe. He was born Nov. 8, 1954, in Grosse Pointe Farms.

Mr. Murray was an iron worker and a member of Iron Workers Local 25.

He is survived by his wife, Jane; daughters, Sally (Bob) Balabuch of Shelby Township and Bridget Murray of Clinton Township; brothers, Jim and William Coburn; sister, Katherine Robson; and mother, Mary McFarland of Roseville.

A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Valerie of Ravenna Church, 23300 King Drive, Clinton Township with the Rev. Richard Cavellier officiating.

Visitation is 4-9 p.m. Tuesday, at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot, Roseville. Additional visitation is 9-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Margaret F. Sisk

Margaret F. Sisk, 73, a resident of Roseville for 40 years, died Saturday, April 29, 2000, at her home. She was born April 8, 1927, in Anderson, Ind.

Mrs. Sisk was a retired hostess for Riveria Restaurant and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 2292, St. Clair Shores.

She is survived by her sons, Lawrence (Mary Ann) Sisk and John (Beth) Sisk; daughters, Sherida (Ian) Brown and Hollis (Roy) Landskron; grandchildren, Erin, Lawrence Jr., Melissa, Megan, and Vernon James Sisk, Amber and Trevor Brown and Marsha Landskron; brother, John (Pauline) Gwin; sisters, Sharon (Bill) Sininger and Francis Gwin; and mother, Blanche Gwin. She was predeceased by her husband, Vernon.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot, Roseville, with the Rev. Dale Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, Clinton Township.

Visitation is 4:30-9 p.m. today and 2-9 Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southeastern Michigan.

Geraldine M. Transit

Geraldine Marie Transit, 68, of Clinton Township, died Saturday, April 29, 2000, at William Beaumont Hospital, Troy. She was born Feb. 14, 1932, in Detroit.

Mrs. Transit was a photographer and member of the Altar Society at Sacred Heart Church and St. Paul of Tarsus Catholic Church. She enjoyed painting, traveling and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Robert) Greening; sons, Fred (Karen), Robert (Susan), Roy (Roxanna) and Leo (Karen); brothers, Jack (Pat) and James (Geri); sisters, Marilyn (Lawrence), Jane (John); and sister-in-law, Agnes; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick and brother, Roy.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Paul of Tarsus Catholic Church, 41300 Romeo Plank, Clinton Township. Burial will be in Sacred Heart cemetery, Roseville.

Visitation is 3-9 p.m. Tuesday with a 7:30 p.m. rosary service at Kaul Funeral Home 35201 Garfield, Clinton Township. Additional visitation is 10-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Dorothy Bryant

Dorothy Bryant, 73, of Sterling Heights, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at William Beaumont Hospital, Troy. She was born Sept. 14, 1926, in Aurora, Ind.

Mrs. Bryant was a registered nurse for 45 years. She retired from Macomb Hospital Center after 22 years in 1994. She practiced nursing in New York, Ohio, Kentucky and Michigan. She graduated from the Jewish Hospital Nursing College in Cincinnati.

She is survived by her children, Dolores Bryant Harkins of Casco Township, Karen S. Falvo of Oakland, Donald E. Bryant of Eastpointe, Carol A. Bryant of Sterling Heights, James E. Bryant of El Paso, Texas, and Thomas E. Bryant of Macomb Township; 15 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Francis L. Falvo; second husband, Thomas C. Bryant; son, William L. Bryant; brothers, Donald and Ralph Tullis; grandson, Jeffrey Bryant; and great-grandson, Alex Milewski.

A funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Frank J. Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 East 15 Mile Road, Sterling Heights, with the Rev. Rik Cryderman officiating. Visitation is 2-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Ruth Emerson

Ruth Emerson, 73, of Warren, died Sunday, March 12, 2000, at home. She was born Sept. 19, 1926, in Dresden, Tenn.

Mrs. Emerson was a homemaker.

She is survived by her children, Joann (Howard) Baker and Phillip (Norma) Emerson; brother, Robert (Valerie) Surber; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Joe, in 1997.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ford Funeral Home, 26560 Van Dyke, Center Line, with the Rev. Harvey Cavender officiating.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today and 2-9 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Cadillac Memorial Gardens East cemetery, Clinton Township.

Mario Onorio Fusciardi

Mario Onorio Fusciardi, 73, of Clinton Township, died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at St. Joseph's Mercy of Macomb hospital, Clinton Township. He was born Aug. 1, 1926, in Casalvieri, Italy.

Mr. Fusciardi was a mason contractor.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine (nee Izzi); sons, Elio (Lisa) and Raffaele (Carrie); brother, Elviro (Anna); sister, Domenica Ianucci; and grandchildren, Aaron, Jason, Ashley and Mario. He was predeceased by his parents, Raffaele and Elia; and sister, Nancy DiMaio.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons funeral home, 36900 Schoenherr, Sterling Heights, with the Rev. Dominic Rossi officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery, Clinton Township.

Visitation will be 2-9 today, with a rosary recital at 7 p.m.

John R. Grabowski

John Raymond Grabowski, 77, a 29-year resident of North Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Mount Clemens, died Friday, March 10, 2000, following an extended illness. He was born Oct. 28, 1922, in Hamtramck.

Mr. Grabowski served in the Merchant Marine during World War II. He was past master of Noah Masonic Lodge 357 F&AM;, member of Araba Shrine Temple, member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Fort Myers, a former fire commissioner of the Bayshore Fire Department, and a member of VOICE of Lee County for many years.

He is survived by his children, John Grabowski of Algonac, Julie Ann Frescura of Valrico, Fla., Rick Rockel of South Point, Ohio, Lynn Grabowski of North Fort Myers, Fla., and Edmund Grabowski of North Fort Myers, Fla.; grandchildren, Angela Smith, Heather Grabowski, Jessica Charles, Daniel Charles, Beth Frescura, Brian John Frescura, Debbie Dixon, Dustin Dixon, and Alex Grabowski; great-grandchildren, Destinee Nicole Charles, and Olivia Smith; sister, Wanda Newood of Fort Myers, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Cora Lee Grabowski, in 1982.

Entombment will be at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens cemetery.

Visitation is 1-9 p.m. Tuesday with an 8 p.m. Masonic Memorial Service at Harvey-Engelhardt-Metz Funeral Home, 1600 Colonial, Fort Myers, Fla. Memorial contributions may be made to the Noah Masonic Lodge, 41 Willis Road, North Fort Myers, FL 33903.

Otto C. Herling

Otto Carl Herling, 89, a lifelong resident of Warren, died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at his home. He was born April 30, 1910, in Detroit.

Mr. Herling owned Otto's Standard Service Station in Warren from 1950-68. He was a mechanic for Schuster's Service Station in Warren from 1968-78, and a customer assistant at Lutz Hardware in Warren from 1978-93.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita; son, L. Wayne (Wanda) Hendrix of Arkansas; daughters, Nadra (Richard) Mitchell of Gladwin, and Laura (Albert) Addis of Clinton Township; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his daughter, Beverly Hanes.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Lyle Elliott Funeral Home, 31730 Mound, Warren, with the Rev. Steve Woodhouse, Parkview Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be at Cadillac Memorial cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Southeastern Michigan.

Doris M. Krowl

Doris M. Krowl, 73, a lifelong resident of Roseville, died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at her home. She was born Feb. 7, 1927, in Roseville.

Mrs. Krowl was a homemaker.

She is survived by her children, Guy (Nancy), Gordon, Glen (Bunny), Gregory, Gene, Gina (Steve) Shaw, Gail (Rick) Melanshek, Garolyn Brown, Janell (Jeremy) Olesky, and Sara Krowl; sisters, Agnes Dillenbach, Sylvia Platte, Violet Dicker, Sharron Zawierucha, Linda Gracin, Carlotta Quinlan, Colleen Mox, and Mary Costa; brothers, Jay, Robert, Charles and Lawrence Payne; 23 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, William B., in 1999; and sons, Gary, G. Michael, and Gerald.

A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church in Roseville, with the Rev. William Bonnici officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart cemetery in Roseville.

Visitation is 3-9 p.m. Tuesday with an evening rosary service at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot, Roseville. Additional visitation is 8-9 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Virginia A. Lehner

Virginia A. Lehner, 81, of Roseville, died Sunday, April 12, 2000, at St. John Macomb Hospital Center in Warren. She was born April 24, 1918, in Detroit.

She is survived by her children, Nancy (Wilbert) Teise, Karen (William) Hinkle, Thomas (Ellen Dobiesz), and Barbara (Thomas) Combs; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Daniel, Michael, Sadie, Jeremy and James; great-grandchild, Berk; and sister, Marion Poskitt. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at St. Donald Catholic Church, 16300 12 Mile Road, Roseville, with the Rev. Michael Donovan officiating. Call (810) 293-8030 for time. Burial will be at Resurrection cemetery in Clinton Township.

Visitation is 2-9 p.m. Tuesday at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr, Warren.

David R. Nowicki

David R. Nowicki, 69, of Warren, died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at home. He was born Nov. 15, 1930, in Detroit.

Mr. Nowicki recently retired after 25 years with BASF Corp. of Southfield as a paint formulator. He was a member of VFW Bruce Post 1146 in St. Clair Shores. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine "Dolores"; children, Debbie (Dave) Redys and Mark (Anne) Nowicki; brothers, John (Hazel), William (Bernice) and Tom (Sharon); and grandchildren, Taylor, Shelby and Ethan. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Clement Church, 25320 Van Dyke, Center Line, with the Rev. Ron Victor officiating.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. today and 2-9 p.m. Tuesday at Ford Funeral Home, 26560 Van Dyke, Center Line. Additional visitation will be Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will be in St. Clement cemetery, Center Line.

Marie Antoinette Palazzolo

Marie Antoinette Palazzolo (nee Cuillo), 84, a resident of Mount Clemens, died Friday March 10, 2000, in Mount Clemens. She was born Feb. 29, 1916, in Italy.

Mrs. Palazzolo was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Peter Church.

She is survived by her sons, Jerome Palazzolo and Joseph (Sharon) Palazzolo; daughters, Catherine (Raymond) Balagna, Jacqueline (Stephen) Croaker, Josephine (Lawrence) Ouimet and Grace Tilelli; 20 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons funeral home, 36900 Schoenherr, Sterling Heights. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery, Clinton Township.

Visitation is 3-9 p.m. today and 1-9 p.m. Tuesday with a 7 p.m. rosary.
