Davis, Raymond E.

Raymond Davis, age 63, of Winn, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2003 at his home.
Funeral Services for Raymond will be held on Saturday, January 25, at 3 p.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel in Mt. Pleasant. Interment will follow at the Union cemetery in Fremont Township.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25, from 12 noon until time of service at Clark Funeral Chapel.
Raymond was born on May 26, 1939 in Riverdale, MI the son of Howard and Charlotte (Greer) Davis. He married Carol Beltnick on October 30, 1959 in Mt. Pleasant. Raymond retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service. He also retired from Lobdell Emery in 1997. Raymond was a former member of the VFW Post in Shepherd.
Raymond is survived by his wife Carol Davis, daughter, Rhonda (Matt) Walrath of Shepherd, sons, Raymond Davis Jr. and Ross (Jackie) Davis both of Shepherd; grandchildren, Linsay, Brittany, Sydney, Melissa, Raymond III, Morganne and Shawn Davis, Matthew and Ryan Walrath; brothers, Howard Davis Jr. of Riverdale and Terry Davis of Grand Rapids.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Earnest, Jack and Robert Davis.
Janes, J. Paul
May 11, 1929 - January 20, 2003
J. Paul Janes, 73, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, passed away January 20, 2003, in Naples, Florida.
Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Paul attended the University of Detroit where he majored in Psychology and received a Bachelor of Philosophy Degree. Following graduation he entered the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon his discharge from the Army he attended Wayne State University Law School and obtained a Juris Doctorate Degree.
In 1961 Paul moved to Mt. Pleasant and established himself as a well-respected attorney. He was admitted to practice before all Michigan State and Federal Courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States. He represented numerous clients and was counsel for Isabella Bank & Trust and Central Michigan Inns. He was also a life-time member of the Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed golfing at his home in Naples, Florida and snow skiing with his family in Michigan. Paul’s fondest memories were of times spent at his cottage on Torch Lake.
A devoted family man, Paul married Mary Ellen (Mullett) on December 28, 1954. Paul is survived by Mary Ellen; his children, Michael (Denise) of Gross Pointe Woods; Douglas of Mt. Pleasant; Eric (Patricia) of Mt. Pleasant; Mark (Linda) of Rochester Hills; Joseph Paul (Melissa) of Grand Rapids; Maura (William) Race of Grand Rapids; Julie Janes of Mt. Pleasant; and 15 grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Robert, and sisters, Jacqueline and Evelyn. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Gregory Paul, and his parents, John and Evelyn.
Family and friends may pay their respects at Clark Funeral Chapel in Mt. Pleasant on Wednesday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A scripture vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening. There will be visitation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, January 24, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Byrne officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the J. Paul Janes Memorial Fund, in care of the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation.
Pandori, Thomas L.
February 23, 1943 - January 20, 2003
Thomas L. Pandori, age 59, of Weidman, loving husband, son and precious friend passed away on Monday, January 20, 2003 at his home.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 22 from 12 noon until time of service at the Weidman Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services for Thomas will be held on Wednesday, January 22, at 2 p.m. from the Weidman Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jeff Hill, Pastor Frank LaLone, Pastor Kevin Jackson, and Pastor Robert Pego officiating.
Thomas was born February 23, 1943, in Detroit, MI, the son of Luigi and Mary (Nannini) Pandori. He married Bonnie Compeau on June 28, 1980 in Alpena, Michigan. Thomas was a member of the Weidman Church of the Nazarene and the Promise Keepers.
Thomas is survived by his wife Bonnie Pandori, his mother Mary, a brother Lido (Nancy) Pandori, a sister Ann DeMarce, several loving nieces and nephews
Thomas was preceded in death by his father, a brother Roger Pandori.
Reedy, Jeffrey Bryan
August 15, 1953 - January 19, 2003
Jeffrey Bryan Reedy, age 49, of Mt. Pleasant died on Sunday, January 19, in Newberry, Michigan, as the result of a snowmobile accident.
Funeral Services for Jeff will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2003, from the United Methodist Church of Rosebush at 3 p.m. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 21, from 2-5 & 7-9 at Clark Funeral Chapel, 114 S. Bradley St., Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, January 22, at the United Methodist Church of Rosebush from 12 noon until time of Service. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church of Rosebush Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available atClark Funeral Chapel.
Jeff was born August 15, 1953, in Lansing, Michigan, the son of Howard M. and Rhoda J. (Antcliff) Reedy. Jeff graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and attended Central Michigan University. He married Rhonda (House) Reedy on May 18, 1974, in Mt. Pleasant. Jeff was owner/operator of Crawford Contracting, Inc. in Alma and had been with Crawford Contracting for 20 years. Jeff served as Board President of A.U.C. (Assoc. Underground Contractors) for the year 2002. He was a current board member. Jeff attended the Rosebush United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Pere’ Marquette Hunting and Fishing Club. Jeff’s hobbies included drag racing, snowmobiling, golfing, playing with his grandkids, cooking turkeys and hanging out with his safety group. He was an avid hunter.
Jeff is survived by his wife Rhonda Reedy of Mt. Pleasant, his daughter Andrea (Kevin) Wetherbee of Mt. Pleasant, his son, Bryan (Kris) Reedy, 4 grandchildren, Austin and Alex Wetherbee, and Jayme and Rikki Riley; parents Howard and Rhoda Reedy of Florida, in-laws Arlo “Pete” and Barbara House of Rosebush, Michigan; grandmother Freda Phillips of Rosebush, MI; 2 brothers, Robert (Caroline) Reedy of Trufant, MI., Kenneth (Carolyn) Reedy of Pinckney, Mi.; brothers-in-law Greg House and Sally Brown of Rosebush and Derrick House and Fiancee’ Terrie Cole of Rosebush.
Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents, sister-in-law JoAnn House, and uncle Bill Phillips.
Denison, Rollie George Roland
June 14, 1919 - January 13, 2003
G.R. “Rollie” Denison, age 83, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Monday, January 13, 2003, at Central Michigan Community Hospital.
Funeral Services for Rollie will be held on Sunday, January 19, at 3 p.m. from the First United Methodist Church, with Rev. John Boley officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 18, from 2-4 and 7-8 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church-Organ Fund or CMU Development Fund. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.
Rollie was born June 14, 1919, in Westboro, Ontario, Canada, the first child of Dalton and Winifred Denison. He married Olga Jones on August 30, 1941. Rollie served in the United States Navy. He was the president of Lease Management from 1959 until 1996. He was President and Owner of Denison & Associates, Inc.
Rollie is survived by his wife Olga of Mt. Pleasant, children, Spencer T. Denison of Denver, Colorado, Diane Denison Dahnke of Birmingham, Michigan and Daniel R. Denison of Ann Arbor, Michigan; and also 5 grandchildren.
Merritt, Alberta L.
February 21, 1913 - January 12, 2003
Alberta L. Merritt, 89, of Mt. Pleasant died peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2003, at Central Michigan Community Hospital.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2003, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Patricia Green officiating. Graveside Services will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2003, in the Oak Grove cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of service on Friday, January 17, at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Alberta was born on February 21, 1913, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Olin and Nellie (Mallory) Ladwig. Alberta had worked as a registered nurse. She married Rev. Otto Lavern Merritt who preceded her in death on October 16, 1996. Alberta loved her family and enjoyed singing, nature, and observing the world from her window.
Alberta is survived by her children, Mary (Harold) Cook of Mt. Pleasant, Dr. Paul Merritt of Southfield, Martha Merritt of Detroit, and John (Jane) Merritt of Hastings; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; a brother Olin A. (Norma) Ladwig, Jr. of Washington, IA.
Alberta was preceded in death by her husband and both parents.
Long, Jack
January 29, 1915 - January 11, 2003
Jack Long, age 87, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2003, at the Gratiot Community Hospital in Alma.
Funeral Services for Jack will be held on Wednesday, January 15, at 11 a.m. Clark Funeral Chapel in Mt. Pleasant. Rev. Terry I. Nordheim of Immanuel Lutheran Church will officiate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 14, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Chapel. A Masonic Lodge Memorial Service will be held Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Crippled Children’s Hospital in Chicago or to the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.
Jack was born January 29, 1915, in Rudy, Arkansas, the son of John W. Long and Della (Henderson) Long. Jack served in the United States Army from 1934 to 1937. He served with the Battery A 1st Field Artillery. He married Kathleen V. (Shultz) Long on September 18, 1938, in Shepherd, Michigan. Jack worked in the oil fields for the Pure Oil Co. in 1937. In 1947 he started the Long and Wetzel Corporation where he worked for many years as an Oilfield Contractor.
Jack was a member of the Democratic Party, he enjoyed all sports and politics. He was supportive of boys and girls area sports. In 1998 he was nominated and elected to the Mt. Pleasant High School Athletic Hall of Fame Humanitarian Award. Jack was a member of Wabon Lodge 305 F & AM, Royal Arch Masons #111, Blue Lodge, Shriner of Saginaw, and Royal Arch of Alma. He was a 32nd degree Mason and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite and belonged to the Mt. Pleasant Moose Lodge and was also a life member of the Michigan Oil and Gas Assoc.
Jack is survived by his wife Kathleen Long, 3 sons, Jack (Markeita) Long Jr., David (Bridget) Long, Robert (Jeanne) Long, all of Mt. Pleasant, 7 daughters, Sandra (Robert) Kullman of Mt. Pleasant, Sharon (Robert) Picken of Grand Blanc, Susan (Ronald) Langworthy of Mt. Pleasant, Pamela (Glenn) Williams, Patricia Long and Kathy VanZoren, Nancy (Joseph) Lauer, Kathryn Long and Brian Trisel, all of Mt. Pleasant; 23 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by his son James W. Long, his parents, his 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
The Long family would like to thank Great Lakes Renal Network of Mt. Pleasant and Alma, Dr. Fuente, Central Michigan Community Hospital Emergency Room, Gratiot Community Hospital 2nd Floor nurses and Rehab. Center for the excellent care and love shown to the Jack Long Family.

Marion J. Thorsen, age 90, of Mt. Pleasant died on December 31, 2002 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:30 p.m. at the Maplewood, 1945 Churchill Blvd. in Mt. Pleasant on Saturday, January 11.
Marion was born December 7, 1912, in Yonkers, New York, the daughter of William Topping and Minna (Kuster) Topping. She married Stanley Thorsen who preceded her in death in November 1980. Marion worked as an elementary school teacher for Vanderbilt and Wolverine Schools. Marion was a member of the Vanderbilt Community Church, the Volunteer Center of Gaylord, and the Michigan Retired Teachers Association.
Marion is survived by her children, John (Cathie) Thorsen of Mt. Air, VA, Jean Murray of Mt. Pleasant; 4 grandchildren, Eric (Julie) Thorsen of Fallchurch, VA, Shantal (Phillip) Medlrum of New York , NY, Annick Thorsen of New York, NY, and Christine (Richard) Rutherford of Ludington, MI; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Marion was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and 1 brother William Topping.
Marek, David Ray
August 18, 1960 - December 30, 2002
David Ray Marek, 42, of Remus, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2002, in Medina, Ohio, as a result of a trucking accident.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 2, from 4-8 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel, 114 South Bradley Street, Mt. Pleasant. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
David was born August 18, 1960, in Livonia, the son of Melvin and Oliveen (Johnson) Marek. He graduated from Alpena High School in the Class of 1978. David married Patsy Oakley on May 20, 1981, in Traverse City. He was employed as a truck driver for Equity Transport out of Grand Rapids. David enjoyed fishing.
David is survived by his wife Patsy and his children Jessica Ann Marek, Mandy Lynn Marek, Joann R. Marek, Audrey Marie Marek, all of Remus; his parents Melvin Marek of Sebewaing and Oliveen Marek of Alpena; his inlaws William J. Oakley (Cornelia) of Lake Isabella and his grandmother Estelle Millard (Howard) of Lansing; brothers Randy Marek (Patty) of Alpena, Terry Marek (Sue) of Alpena, Mel Marek of Colorado, Jimmy Marek (Andrea) of California, and Danny Marek of Eaton Rapids; sister Sherry Bradbury (John) of Alpena.
David was preceded in death by his sister Audrey Marek.

Sandra Jeanne Body, age 62, of Weidman, passed away on Thursday, December 26, at the Laurels of Mt. Pleasant.
A Memorial Service for Sandra will be held on Sunday, December 29, at 5 p.m. at the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home in Highland. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 29, from 1-5 p.m. at the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home.
Sandra was born April 5, 1940, the daughter of Murray and Jonnelin (Leasare) Rayner. Sandra resided in the Weidman area. She worked as a direct care aide. She enjoyed gardening, word searches, TV, taking care of the elderly, and sitting by a fire on a starry night.
Sandra is survived by her children, Terilyn (Joseph) Fraczek of Weidman and Thomas (Sue) Body of Waterford; grandchildren, Heather Fraczek, Katie Body and Lewis Body; and a sister, Barbara (Ralph) Forbes.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents.
Husted, Raymond C.

Raymond C. Husted, 85, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Monday, December 23, 2002, at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility.
Funeral Services for Raymond will be held on Friday, December 27, at 2 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel with Pastor Richard Fulkerson of the Central Michigan Free Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Salt River cemetery in Shepherd.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 26, from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday, December 25, from 7-9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Michigan Free Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chaple.
Raymond was born September 6, 1917, the son of J.C. and Loma (Thayer) Husted. Raymond married Vera E. Hatt on September 14, 1941, in Mt. Pleasant. He worked as a cheese maker at the Kraft Company in Clare for over 30 years until he retired in 1979. He also worked as a farmer and milking cows. Raymond and Vera attended the Central Michigan Free Methodist Church. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and woodworking.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Vera (Hatt) Husted; sisters, Violet (Russell) Wright of Lake, Isabelle (Ken) Tupper of Mt. Pleasant, Erma Goodwill of Saginaw, Rozena Merrihew of Kalkaska; several nieces, nephews and in-law.
Raymond was preceded in death by his son Richard Raymond Husted in 1948; parents; brothers Donald Husted, Ronald Husted, Gerald Husted, and sister Gladys Rausch.
