Frank Souza III, age 32, of Winn passed away on October 5, 2003.

Funeral Services for Frank will be held on Wednesday, October 8th, at 7 p.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel. Pastor Dan Siedlecki of Central Michigan Christian Church will officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral chapel on Tuesday October 7th from 7-9 p.m.

Frank was born April 6, 1971 in Honolulu, Hawaii, the son of Frank Jr. and Florence Souza. He worked at Maeder Sawmill in Weidman.

Frank is survived by his fiancée, Darlene M. Moore; son, Frank Ikaika Souza; mother, Florence Souza; fiancée step daughter, Monique S. Toth; brother, Karl (Kehau) Kahoone; sisters, Sherrie Veriato and fiancé Rick Kappler and Jaynel A. (Pancho) Aldana; nephew, Rickie A. Kappler II; nieces, Tanya, Tiffany and Tiare Kahookei and Jaydilynn Veriato.

Frank was preceded in death by his father, Frank Souza Jr.

Smith, Margaret Grace
March 24, 1942 - October 2, 2003

Margaret Grace Smith, 61, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of East Tawas, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2003 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility.

A Memorial Service for Margaret was held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4th at Clark Funeral Chapel in Mt. Pleasant with Mark Christian and Jeff Gritton officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Michigan.

Margaret was born March 24, 1942 in Sarnia, Canada, the daughter of Howard Murray Clarke and Patricia (Fox) Clarke. Margaret retired August 1, 2003 after 16 years as Executive Director of Eastern National Forests Interpretive Association.

Margaret is survived by her father, Howard (Verna) Clarke of Mesa, AZ; children, Michael R. (Carrie) Smith of Mt. Pleasant and Scott C. (Dawn) Smith of Paradise Valley, AZ and grandchildren, Zachary and Kara Smith of Mt. Pleasant and Natalie Smith of Paradise Valley, AZ.

Margaret was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Clarke

Rhode, Ernest Carl
May 3, 1919 - October 2, 2003

Ernest Carl Rhode, age 84, of Weidman, passed away on October 2, 2003 at the Tendercare Nursing Home in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral Services for Ernest will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. from the Clark Funeral Chapel. Deacon Larry Fussman will officiate. Interment will follow at the Riverside cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Visitation will be held at the funeral chapel on Saturday, October 4, 2003 from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Donors Choice. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Ernest C. Rhode was born May 3, 1919 in Broomfield Twp., Isabella Co., the son of Otto C. Rhode and Ida (Schupach) Rhode. Ernest worked as a dairy farmer in Isabella Co. for many years.

Ernest is survived by his sister-in-law, Beatrice Rhode of Lake; Nieces, Ruth Ann Wright of Midland and Betty (Mark) Schulte of Weidman and several great-great nieces and nephews.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, beloved stepfather, Sylvester Dole and his brother Elmer J. Rhode.

Lienhardt, Elizabeth "Betty" M.
August 26, 1939 - September 28, 2003

Elizabeth “Betty” M. Lienhardt, 64, of Weidman passed away on September 28, 2003 at the Ingham Medical Center in Lansing.

Funeral Services for Elizabeth will be held on Thursday, October 2 at 11 a.m. from the Clark Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dean Willard officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview cemetery in Weidman. Visitation will be held at the funeral chapel on Tuesday, September 30th from 7-9 p.m and Wednesday, October 1 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Weidman Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Elizabeth was born August 26, 1939 to Harry and Mildred (Schmitz) Bottorff. Elizabeth married Telford Lienhardt on November 22, 1957 in Taylor, Michigan. She worked as a bank teller and was a member of the Weidman Baptist Church. Elizabeth enjoyed reading, ceramics, stained glass, gardening, country crafts and baking.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Telford; sons, David L. Lienhardt of Sewalls Point, FL, Dennis A. (Florence) Lienhardt of Riverview, MI and Darrin M. (Margaret) Lienhardt of Potterville, MI; 9 grandchildren; Brothers, Harry (Lois) Bottorff of Taylor, MI, Robert (Wanda) Bottorff of Virginia and Clyde (Nancy) Bottorff of Dearborn Heights, MI; Sisters, Judy (Tommy) Howell of Plainville, GA and Karen Bottorff of Taylor, MI.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents.

Martin, Kenneth A.
July 5, 1917 - September 26, 2003

Kenneth A. Martin, age 86, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Friday, September 26, ,2003 at the Sparrow Hospital in Lansing.

Funeral services for Kenneth A. Martin will be held on Tuesday, September 30, at 11 a.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel, 114 S. Bradley St. Mt. Pleasant, Michigan with Rev. Jana Lynn Almeida of the Countryside United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the McBride cemetery in McBride, Michigan.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 28, from 7-9 p.m. and Monday, September 29, from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Countryside United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Kenneth was born July 5, 1917, in Montcalm County, the son of Simeon Paul and Ruby Mildred (Andrews) Martin. Kenneth worked as a farmer for 15 years. He also worked for the Road Commission for 26 years in road maintenance. Ken enjoyed working on equipment, reading, automobiles, and traveling.

Ken is survived by 3 sisters Doris Brown of Southfield, Michigan, Louise (Lyle Jr.) Braman of Crystal, Michigan, and Lois (Neville) Pitcher of Ithaca and many nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his first wife Leola Martin, his second wife Lydia Martin, his parents, 3 brothers Simeon Jr., Josiah, and Melvin.

Wendt, Margaret Jean Thurston
April 19, 1925 - September 22, 2003

Margaret Jean Thurston Wendt, age 78, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on September 22, 2003 at the Tendercare Nursing Home in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral Services for Margaret will be held on Saturday September 27th at 11 a.m. from the Clark Funeral Chapel. Dr. Stephen Shugert and Fr. Jeffrey Donner will officiate. Interment will follow at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Visitation will be held at the funeral chapel on Friday September 26th from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. The V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary will hold a memorial service Friday evening at the funeral chapel at 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Michigan. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Margaret was born April 19, 1925 to William and Ina Thurston of Mt. Pleasant. Margaret graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1943 and attended Central Michigan University. Margaret married Howard Wendt on July 2, 1946 in Shelbyville, Kentucky. Margaret was a Red Cross volunteer at the Central Michigan Community Hospital blood bank. She served as PTA president at Fancher Elementary and PTA Council President. She was active with the Womens Assoc. at the First Presbyterian Church, she also served as a Deaconess. Margaret was a member of the First Presbyterian Church for 62 years. Margaret was a member of the Borley Hanel VFW Post 3033 Aux. for over 55 years, and became a life member of the VFW National Home. She held many offices in the Auxiliary, and was very proud to be a supporter of Desert Shield and also wore a bracelet for a Vietnam POW. Margaret had worked as a sales representative for Memorial Gardens cemetery.

Margaret is survived by her daughter Janice and son Tom.
2 grand daughters, Renee’ and Susie, 4 great grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard in 1985, an infant sister Helen Mae, and twin grandsons.

Stenman, Janet Rose
July 1, 1935 - September 19, 2003

Janet Rose Stenman, 68, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Friday, September 19, at her home.

A Funeral Mass for Janet will be held on Monday, September 22, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Byrne officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 21, from 3-5 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel and Monday, September 22, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Isabella Community Soup Kitchen, Commission on Aging, Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Hospice of Central Michigan. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Janet was born on July 1, 1935 in Racine, WI the daughter of Charles and Rose (Daleski) Kesser. She worked as an administrative assistant at the Oil and Gas News. For many years Janet volunteered at the Isabella County Soup Kitchen where she was a member of the board. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and working on crossword puzzles.

Janet is survived by her children Jennifer (Larry) Kemp, Sarah (Thomas) Torpey, Thomas (Cheryl) Stenman, Mary Alice Stenman, and Stephanie (Casey) Prout; 12 grandchildren; brothers Charles (Joann) Kesser, Robert (Germaine) Kesser, and James (Sharon) Kesser, her sister Judith Kesser and sister-in-law Pat Kesser.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Kenneth.

Corsaut, Jane Ann
July 18, 1929 - September 18, 2003

Jane Ann Corsaut, age 74, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2003 at the Central Michigan Community Hospital.

Funeral Services for Jane will be held on Monday, September 22nd, at 11 a.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. John Boley of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will take place in Riverside cemetery.

Friends may call at Clark Funeral Chapel on Sunday, September 21st, from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Donald Corsaut Memorial Scholarship, in care of the Saginaw Community Foundation. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Jane was born July 18th, 1929, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Paul Clabuesch and Marie (Fuller) Clabuesch. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School class of 1947. Jane attended University of Michigan, and graduated from Ferris State University Pharmacy School. She had worked as a registered pharmacist.

Jane is survived by her brother, John Clabuesch – Pontiac, Michigan, her sister Elizabeth (Gerald) Losee – Saginaw, Michigan, also several nieces and nephews, Aunt Ella Steede of Lansing.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her son Donald Corsaut, and her brother, Paul “Fred” Clabuesch.

Rondy, Tracey Marie
March 29, 1971 - September 13, 2003

Tracey Marie Rondy, 32, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Saturday, September 13, at Central Michigan Community Hospital.

A Funeral Mass for Tracey will be held on Tuesday, September 16, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with Fr. Robert Byrne officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 14, from 2-5 p.m. and on Monday, September 15, from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel and Tuesday, September 16, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Sacred Heart Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tracey Rondy Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Tracey attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and Mt. Pleasant High School, graduating in 1989. During High School she was involved in many activities such as Junior Achievement, Student Senate, pom pon squad, and the interior design of the Mt. Pleasant High School vocational house. She attended CMU and majored in interior design. During college she was a member of the American Society of Interior Design, Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and worked at Goodies to Go. She won a contest in which she named the Down Under Food Court at CMU’s Bovee University Center. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church. During recent years, Tracey’s passion was making custom-made flower arrangements. She was a member of the Headstrong Support Group in Alma and the Summit Clubhouse in Mt. Pleasant. She loved to play cards and board games, ride her bike, swim, go shopping, and especially play darts and horseshoes with her dad. She enjoyed spending time with her special friend Ron Finch. She was loved by so many people and will be deeply missed by her friends and family.

Tracey is survived by her parents Maureen and Gary Rondy of Mt. Pleasant, her sister Tara Rondy of Plymouth, grandparents Edward and Sally Rondy of Lansing, and many aunts, uncle, cousins and friends.

Tracey was preceded in death by her grandparents, Tom and Ruth Murphy.

Staveley, Donald
October 11, 1938 - September 12, 2003

Donald Staveley, 64, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Friday, September 12, at the Laurels of Mt. Pleasant.

A Funeral Mass for Donald will be held on Monday, September 15, at 11 A.M. at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Rosebush with Fr. Jeffrey Donner and Rev. Lorraine McGuinness officiating. Interment will take place in St. Henry’s cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 14, from 2-5 p.m. and also from 7-9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel. There will be a prayer service Sunday evening at the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Foundation. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Donald was born October 11, 1938, in Rosebush, the son of John and Margaret Staveley. Donald worked for Borden, Morris LaLone, and Rod Tyler milk routes for many years. He also worked as a watchman for Central Michigan University.

Donald is survived by his four children, Mark (Pam) Staveley of Elkhart, IN, Susan (Dan) Haddock of Elkhart, IN, John Staveley of Union, MI, and Lisa Wilson of Shepherd, MI as well as his grandchildren MacKenzie, Alyssa, Wendy, Kelly and Kyle; his mother, Margaret Staveley of Rosebush; his brother Doug Staveley of Rosebush; his sister Phyllis Bonstelle of Gladwin, and his niece Sara Staveley of Rhode Island.

Donald was preceded in death by father John in 1972, his two sisters Janice Bierschbach in 2001 and sister-in-law Connie Staveley in 1999 and also by his brother Billy in 1952.

Tyburczyk, David Wayne
April 12, 1952 - September 8, 2003

David Wayne Tyburczyk, 51, of Weidman, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2003, at his residence.

A Memorial Service for David will be held on Saturday, September 13, at 2 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.

David was born April 12, 1952, in Detroit, the son of Ed and Kathleen (Heathcoat) Tyburczyk. He had worked for 30 years for the Chrysler Corporation as an Hi-Lo operator until his retirement in 2002. David married Delores Usher on October 30, 1998, in Toledo, OH. He enjoyed boating and fishing and was an avid TV watcher.

David is survived by his wife, Delores; his father Ed Tyburczyk of Dearborn Heights and mother-in-law Annie Usher of Detroit; brothers John Tyburczyk and Charles Tyburczyk; sisters Rose Pero, Norma Tyburczyk, and Sheryl Cox (Rosevelt); and many nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his mother.
