Klumpp, Robert E.
September 6, 1924 - August 12, 2003

Robert E. Klumpp, 78, of Weidman, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2003, at his home.

A Funeral Mass for Robert will be held on Thursday, August 14, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Church with Fr. John Cotter officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph the Worker cemetery in Beal City.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 13, from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel. There will be a prayer service Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph the Worker Building Fund or the Beal City Athletic Association. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Robert was born September 6, 1924, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Otto and Mable (McDonald) Klumpp. He married Renelda Schafer on June 18, 1949. Robert served during WWII from 1942-1945 in the United States Navy. He worked as an electrician for Hope Electric and then IBEW 692 until his retirement in 1986. Robert was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church and the Beal City K of C #3651. He also was a member of the VFW. Robert enjoyed woodworking and golfing. He was an avid fan of his grandchildren’s sporting events and school activities.

Robert is survived by his wife Renelda; children, Douglas Klumpp, Richard (Shar) Klumpp, Ted (Kathy) Klumpp, Dottie (Greg) Bunting, Sandy Klumpp, Penny (Steve) Gross, Greg (Rhonda) Klumpp and Karen (Kim) Rogers; 28 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brother Alfred (Ruth) Klumpp, and sisters Sofie Stowell, Viola (Norm) Schafer, Katherine Dickey, Alice Faber, and Bonnie Zingery.

Robert was preceded in death by brothers George, Randy, Russ and sisters Helen, Marjorie and Dorothy.

Dennis Sr., Russell Ray
July 28, 1945 - April 1, 2004

Russell R. Dennis Sr., 58, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2004, at his home.

Funeral services for Russell will be held today, Saturday, April 3, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Obrecht officiating.

Russell was born on July 28, 1945, in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, the son of Cecil F. and Bernice E. (Ludwig) Dennis I. He married Barbara Kripa on June 23, 1973 in Mt. Pleasant. Russell was a currier for Isabella Bank and Trust for 35 years, retiring in 2000. He loved his grandchildren and liked talking about hunting.

Russell is survived by his wife, Barbara Dennis of Mt. Pleasant; his children, Russell R. (Kristi) Dennis Jr. and Robin (C.J.) Hart both of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Hunter, Wyatt, McKenzie and Caleb; mother, Bernice Dennis of Mt. Pleasant; brother, Roger S. (Joyce) Dennis of Mt. Pleasant.

Russell was preceded in death by his father, Cecil F. Dennis I and brother, Cecil F. Dennis II.

Campbell, Vivian Lucille
May 3, 1921 - March 30, 2004

Vivian Campbell, 82, of Rosebush, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away after a long and courageous battle on Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at the Cleveland Clinic Medical Facility with her family by her side.

Funeral Services for Vivian will be held on Saturday, April 3, at 11 a.m. from the Clark Funeral Chapel in Mt. Pleasant with Reverend Mary Anne Evans-Justin and Reverend Alec Brooks officiating. Interment will follow at the Riverside cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 2, from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday, April 3, from 10 a.m. until time of service at Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rosebush Presbyterian Church, Rosebush Manor or Donor’s choice. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Vivian was born May 3, 1921, in Rosebush, the daughter of Floyd and Lois (Connor) Graham. She married Albert Campbell on July 21, 1944 in Rosebush. Vivian and Albert celebrated 59 years of marriage together. After graduating from high school she began working for Joe Schueller at Farmers Mutual Insurance Co. In 1955 Vivian took over her father-in-laws insurance business where she began selling out of the home. Later Vivian was the Rosebush Village Treasurer for many years. Vivian was a member of the Rosebush Presbyterian Church, where she played the organ and piano for over 60 years and was involved in many of the church activities. Vivian was a wonderful cook with many “special” recipes. She loved watching birds, squirrels, playing games, traveling or simply spending time with family and friends. She was always caring and devoted towards others. Vivian’s open arms, hugs and kisses will be deeply missed by all.

Vivian is survived by her husband Albert Campbell of Rosebush; her children, Ted Sr. (Trudy) Campbell of Mt. Pleasant, Helen Campbell of West Bloomfield, MI; grandchildren, Shellie (Paul) Wilson of Midland, Ted Jr.(Kristy) Campbell of Wixom, MI and Amanda Campbell of Mt. Pleasant; Great-Grandchildren Larissa and Codey Wilson of Midland; brother, Dale (Bernice) Graham of Mt. Pleasant; sister Marian Schleder of Ithaca; sister-in-law, Pauline Graham of Rosebush along with many nieces, nephews and special friends.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Lois Graham and her brother; Ivan Graham.

Fischer, Annabelle
February 20, 1915 - March 27, 2004

Annabelle Fischer, age 89, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2004, at her residence.

Funeral services for Annabelle will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at 11 a.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel with Rev. Richard Fulkerson officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 29, from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, March 30, from 2–4 & 7–9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mid-Michigan VNA Hospice or to the Central Michigan Free Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Annabelle was born February 20, 1915, the daughter of Frank Howay and Anna (Billington) Howay. Annabelle attended and graduated from Mt. Pleasant Schools, class of 1934. She married Frank G. Fischer who preceded her in death on June 6, 1976. She was a member of the Central Michigan Free Methodist Church, active in Girl Scouting for many years, and life member of the V.F.W. Post 3033 Auxiliary. Annabelle and her husband were instrumental in the development of the Airport Community Center (now Jameson Park).

Annabelle is survived by her 5 children, Carol (Jim) Ruthruff of Weidman, George (Suzanne) Fischer of Caledonia, Pauline Fischer of Midland, Ralph Fischer of Mt. Pleasant, and Annatta Marshall of Midland; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; her 3 sisters, Sedena McReavy of Mt. Pleasant, Ruth Rock of Mt. Pleasant and Katherine Tiedeman of Clare; sister-in-law, Hazel Howay of Harrison, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 sister Eleanor Feltman, and 5 brothers, Earl, George, Lyle, Charles and Russell Howay.

Annabelle was a Loving Mother and Grandmother who will surely be missed by her family and friends.

Wheeler, Roger Ray
December 9, 1952 - March 24, 2004

Roger Ray Wheeler, 51, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on March 24, 2004 at Central Michigan Community Hospital.

Funeral Services for Roger will be held on Saturday, March 27, at 2 p.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bill Heath officiating. Interment will follow in the Chippewa Township cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 25, from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, March 26, from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Roger was born December 9, 1952, in Isabella County, the son of Gordan and Helen (Fair) Wheeler. Roger is survived by his brothers, Gordan “Bill” Wheeler, Ronald (Mary Anne) Wheeler and Rolland (Janet) Wheeler all of Mt. Pleasant; Sisters Betty (Roy) Trussell of Charlotte, Florida and Violet Harris of Mt. Pleasant and many nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Randy Wheeler and Sister-in-law, Barb Wheeler.

The family would like to give a special thanks to McBrides Adult Foster Care Home and their staff.

Utterback, Helen Gertrude
January 10, 1917 - March 23, 2004

Helen Gertrude Utterback, 87, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at her home.

Funeral Services for Helen will be held on Saturday, March 27, at 11 a.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel with Rev. Donald Kevern officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 26, from 3-9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Michigan or Friends of Isabella Seniors. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Helen was born January 10, 1917, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Charles E. and Helen Josephine (Oathout) Craft. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1935. Helen married Chelsea Utterback on December 24, 1935. He preceded her in death after 62 years of marriage. She worked as a state wide conveyor for the Michigan Crippled Children for 10 years and Union Township Clerk for 8 years. Helen was involved in CMCH Auxillary and spent many years with the Girl Scouts. She was instrumental in moving the Girls Scouts Cabin. Helen also helped her husband, Chelsea with construction projects in the community, including the building of Community Stadium.

Helen is survived by her children, Imogene Pilarski of Utica, MI, Eugene “Chum” (Ruth) Utterback of Mt. Pleasant, Charlene (Gary) Priest of Shepherd and Terry (Alison) Utterback of Charlotte, NC; Fifteen Grandchildren; Eighteen Great-Grandchildren; One brother, Ivan (Edith) Craft of Lansing, MI; Brother-in-law, Kenneth “Red” (Mildred) Utterback of Mt. Pleasant and Sister-in-law, Kathryn Utterback of Mt. Pleasant.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Chelsea and son-in-law, Regis Pilarski.

Denney, Geraldine L.
February 12, 1921 - March 18, 2004

Wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Geraldine L. Denney, 83, of Mt. Pleasant died on Thursday, March 18, 2004 at her home. A memorial service for Geraldine will be held on Saturday, April 17 at 11 a.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel with officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Cancer Services or Hospice of Central Michigan.

Geraldine was born February 12, 1921, the daughter of Ernest and Hattie (Smith) Derry in Gratiot County. She married Robert Denney on June 21, 1940. Geraldine was employed by Central Michigan Community Hospital for 30 years before retiring in 1985. She enjoyed bowling, golf and was a devoted Tigers fan, avid reader and loved playing cards.

Geraldine is survived by her husband, Robert of Mt. Pleasant; children, Douglas (Paula Fortino) Denney of Greenville, Pamela Miller of St. Charles, Cathy (Richard) von Reichbauer of Mt. Pleasant, Kimberly (David) Yost of Shepherd and Roxann (Randy) Ellis of Dimondale, Michigan; Grandchildren, Robin, Jeremy, Vicki (Tom), Jason (Lisa), Krystal, Katie, Audra and Dane; Great-Grandchildren, Kennadi, Justen, Jaksen, Khayman, Madelyn, Ella, Derry and Konnor; brothers, Jack (Beverly) Derry of Shepherd and Earl Derry of Florida and one sister, Phyllis Derry of St. Louis.

Interment will be in Memorial Gardens later in the spring.

Grecu, Phyllis
July 24, 1921 - March 10, 2004

Phyllis Grecu, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at her residence.

Private family services have taken place.

Stinson, Donald
February 23, 1916 - March 9, 2004

Donald Stinson passed away on March 9, 2004 at the Veterans Administration Nursing Home facility in Battle Creek, MI. after a lengthy illness. He was 88 years old.

He was born to G. Jay and Mary Lou Stinson on February 23, 1916 in Mt. Pleasant, MI. He attended Mt. Pleasant Public Schools and graduated in 1934. On February 1, 1939, he married Lorraine Ledebuhr of Capac. They moved to Detroit in the fall of 1939 where he attended the Wayne State School of Mortuary Science. After graduating, he worked for the Stinson Funeral Home (as it was known at that time) in Mt. Pleasant. A few years later he bought the Charles Durfee Real Estate firm, renaming it the Stinson Agency, and worked along with his brother, Harold, in both real estate and insurance. Later he joined the General Agency and established General Realty Co. He was also an independent real estate appraiser for area lenders and Central Michigan University. He was a charter member of the Gratiot-Isabella Board of Realtors, and was named Realtor of the Year in 1977.

Donald was a member of the First United Methodist Church for over 70 years. He was a former member of the Mt. Pleasant Country Club where he was an avid golfer. He was a 32nd degree Mason. He earned his degree at the Bay City Consistory. He was a World War II veteran.

Donald leaves his wife of 65 years, Lorraine of Haslett; three sons, William (Denise) of Rock Hill, SC; David (Janet) of Lansing; Thomas (Sharon) of Escanaba; six grandchildren, Andrew (Claire) of Lugoff, SC; Tracy (Andrew) Ziegler of Myrtle Beach, SC; Elizabeth and Daniel Stinson of Lansing; Paul (Stephanie) Stinson of Mt. Pleasant; and Emily Stinson of Escanaba. He also leaves three great-grandchildren, Luke, Hannah and Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Arthur and Russell Stinson.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 20, at 12:00 noon at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant with The Reverend Robert H. Roth, Jr. of East Lansing officiating. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:30 a.m. Alternative condolences may be shared at www.clarkfuneralchapel.com.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant, Alzheimer’s Association of Mid-Michigan or the Battle Creek VA Medical Center and designate Palliative Care Unit. Envelopes will be available at the church or Clark Funeral Chapel.

Bellinger, Lillian Lucille
June 7, 1921 - March 8, 2004

Lillian L. Bellinger, 82, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Monday, March 8, 2004 at her home.

A memorial service for Lillian will be held on Friday, March 12 at 11 a.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Ronald Thompson officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, March 11, 2004 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Central Michigan or to the First United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Lillian was born June 7, 1921, the daughter of Lawrence and Lydia (Caszett) Recker in Lincoln Township. She married Cecil Bellinger on February 22, 1938 in Shepherd. Lillian worked as a cook at Central Michigan University before retiring in 1985. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed flowering, crocheting and traveling.

Lillian is survived by her children, Marvin (Sally) Bellinger of Mt. Pleasant, Dean (Lynn) Bellinger of Bellingham, WA and Bonnie (Ronald) Green of Pinebluff, NC; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Larry (Yulon) Recker of Shepherd; sisters, Phyllis Jean Eckert of Flint and Beverly Ann (Robert) Jones of Shepherd.

She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil on June 26, 2003; her parents and a sister Dorothy McDonald.

Baker, Isabelle
December 18, 1911 - March 3, 2004

Isabelle Baker, 92, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility.

Funeral Services for Isabelle will be held on Monday, March 8, at 11 a.m. from Blanchard Pine River United Methodist Church with Pastor Dale Golden officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine River cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 7, from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Isabella County Medical Care Facility or Wooden Rocker Nursing Home. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Isabelle was born to Ida and Dorr McBride on December 18, 1911 in Sheridan, MI. She married Bernard Baker on December 19, 1931. She was a hard working, gentle, loving farmers wife most of her life. She worked at Ore Ida Foods in Greenville for a few years in the late 60’s.
In 1994, she moved from their farm in Blanchard, where they had resided for 55 years, to the Wooden Rocker in Mt. Pleasant. She has called this home for the last 10 years. She became ill in January and was at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility in Mt. Pleasant until her death. She was a member of the Pine River Church in Blanchard. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Isabelle is survived by her daughter, Mary (George) Brown of Muskegon; her son, Don Baker of Chico, TX; Five Grandchildren; 14 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Isabelle was preceded in death by her husband Bernard, sister Margorie, brother Howard and both parents.

VanConant, Mona Marie
July 8, 1911 - March 3, 2004

Mona M. Van Conant, 92, of Weidman, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at her home.

Funeral Services for Mona will be held on Saturday, March 6, at 10 a.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel with Pastor Diane Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 4, from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, March 5, from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Commission on Aging or Hospice of Central Michigan. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Mona was born July 8, 1911, in South Branch, MI, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Davison) Rush. She was a member of New Life Fellowship in Weidman and loved playing bingo.

Mona is survived by her special friend Harold Harrington of Barryton; her children, George Jones of Beaverton, Alice Jones of Beaverton, Ruth Ann Estes of Beaverton, Shirley Patterson of Weidman, Bonnie Reeves of Barryton and David Jones of Jackson; two step-sons, Harvey and Leon Van Conant of Ionia; Daughter-in-law, Marilyn Neeley of Balding; Two Sister-in-laws, Myrtle Van Conant of Greenville and Florence Eaton of Flint; Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Mona was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, John Jones, Henry Neeley, Cleo Maxon and Lawrence Van Conant, children, Jimmy W. Jones, Donald Jones, Beatrice Van Conant, Junior Neeley and Margaret Yaeger, half brother Clarence Wheeden and half sister, Eunice Thayer.
