Bean, Robert G.
August 27, 1925 - November 15, 2004

Robert G. Bean, age 79, of Rosebush, surrounded by loved ones went to be with his Lord on Monday, November 15, 2004 at the Mid Michigan Medical Center in Midland.

Funeral services for Robert will take place on Friday, November 19, 2004 at 2 p.m. from the Rosebush United Methodist Church. Pastor Brian LaMew will officiate. Burial will take place at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, Nov. 17th from 7-9 p.m. Thursday from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and also on Friday from 1 p.m. until time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Rosebush United Methodist Church Building Fund or to the Big Brother/Big Sister of Isabella County. Envelopes will be available at the Clark Funeral Chapel.

Robert was born August 27, 1925 in Venango Co., Pennsylvania. The son of Harry and Ruth Bean. On February 17, 1950 Robert married Verda House in Otsego, Michigan. Robert was a lifelong farmer and was active in politics. He served as Vernon Township Supervisor and 12 years as Isabella County Drain Commissioner. Robert was also an active and proud Republican where he was a recipient for the Constance Stegman Republican Award. Robert was a member of the Rosebush United Methodist Church. Robert dearly loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his wife Verda of Rosebush, children; Kelly (Denise) Bean of St. Johns and Jeff (Lee) Bean of Rosebush; grandchildren; Keegan and Eathan Bean of St. Johns, Todd Bean of Mt. Pleasant, and Lindsay (Lee) Harsh of Coleman; a great-granddaughter Abegail Harsh of Coleman; brothers; Dale (Wenna) Bean, John (Gail) Bean, and Paul (Janet) Bean; sisters; Martha (Elwood) Shreckengost, Margaret Dunn, and Ruth Ann Stahlsmith; sister in-laws; Virginia Bean, Charanne Bean, Melanie Bean all of Pennsylvania; cousin; Richard (Pam) Bean of Mt. Pleasant. Robert is further survived by his in-laws; Dale (Nina) House, Arlo (Barb) House, Gary (Shirley) House, Morval (Theda) LaLone, Enid Nestle and Wellington Funnell along with many family, special friends and nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ruth Bean, brothers; Clark, Clair, Harry, and Lawerence Bean, along with his sister Charlotte Shreckengost.

VonDoloski, Edward D.
October 7, 1916 - November 14, 2004

Edward D. VonDoloski, 88, of Mt. Pleasant went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 14, 2004, at the Shamrock Manor Assisted Living in Clare.

A Mass of Christian burial for Edward will be Thursday, November 18, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Calvary cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 16, from 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday, November 17, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Edward was born on October 7, 1916, in Wyandotte, MI., the son of John and Albertatina (Hivadicuk) VonDoloski. Edward served in the U.S. Army in WWII. He was a pipe insulator for the Local 47 for 30 years. Edward was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman.

Edward is survived by his nephew, Martin (Sherry) VonDoloski of Mt. Pleasant and neice, JoAnn (Donald) Wilson of Clare along with many other nieces and nephews.

Edward was preceded in death by his brothers; John, Alex and Walter VonDoloski and sisters Mary Overfield and Lottie Guthrie.

The family would like to express their appreciation and thanks to Shamrock Manor and Mid Michigan Hospice for the compassion and care given to Edward and his family.

Reihl, Edward Alex
December 3, 1921 - November 8, 2004

Edward Alex Reihl, 82, of Beal City passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, November 8, 2004.

A Funeral Mass for Edward will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Beal City with Father John Cotter officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph the Worker cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 10, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph the Worker Catholic School or church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and the church.

Edward was born on December 3, 1921, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Leo Matt and Anna Catherine (Bierschbach) Reihl. He married Gloria Jean Feldhauser on August 11, 1951 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Edward worked as a cattle and cash crop farmer all of his life. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and the Beal City Knights of Columbus. Edward was an outdoorsman that loved fishing, hunting and woodworking. He will be remembered for his joke telling and great sense of humor.

Edward is survived by his wife, Jean of Beal City; one daughter, Sherry (Scott) Theisen of Mt. Pleasant; granddaughters, Lindsay and Brittany Theisen both of Mt. Pleasant; one brother, Raymond (Pat) Reihl of Beal City and sisters, Katie (Art) McCoy, Anna Wohlscheid and Bernice (Charles) Grinzinger all of Mt. Pleasant and sister-in-law, Mary Reihl of Mt. Pleasant.

Edward was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Reihl and sisters, Lorraine Fox, Helen Shaw, Rosie Courser and Eileen MacDonald.

Halfman, Jean Marquise
December 16, 1925 - November 8, 2004

Jean Marquise Halfmann, 78, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Monday, November 8, 2004, at Central Michigan Community Hospital.

A Memorial Service for Jean will be held Wednesday, November 10, at 4 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel with Father Jeffrey Donner officiating. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Michigan or Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Jean was born on December 16, 1925 in Logan, Ohio, the daughter of Ervin and MaryLou (Dessler) Sargent. She married William Halfmann on August 26, 1944 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Jean was employed by A&P as an office manager. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Jean is survived by her husband, William; children, William R. (Billie) Halfmann of Greenville, Carol A. Althouse of Taylor and Richard (Doni) Halfmann of Plymouth; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and sister, Mary Reihl of Mt. Pleasant and sister-in-laws, Joyce Sargent of Mt. Pleasant, Geraldine Sargent of Mt. Pleasant and Dode Sargent of California.

Jean was preceded in death by her brothers, Lyle, Densel, Paul and Vecro Sargent.

Linville, Kenneth Scott
August 8, 1958 - November 5, 2004

Kenneth Scott Linville, age 46, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Friday November 5 at his residence.

Funeral services for Ken will take place on Tuesday November 9, 2004 at 11 a.m. from the Clark Funeral Chapel in Mt. Pleasant. Rev. Ronald Vredeveld will officiate. Burial will take place at the Salt River cemetery in Shepherd. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Chapel on Monday Nov. 8th from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m.. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Michigan or to the National Liver Foundation – envelopes will be available at the Clark Funeral Chapel.

Ken was born August 8, 1958 in Boone Co., West Virginia. The son of Robert Linville and Alice (Miller) Linville. Ken served in the United States Army from 1977 until 1978. He worked in the Construction Industry. He married Ronda Turner of Mt. Pleasant.

Ken is survived by his wife Ronda of Mt. Pleasant, special companions Harley and Baby.
Mother in law, Lauretta Turner of Mt. Pleasant. Brother, Terence Linville and a sister Rose Blizzard of Mt. Pleasant.

Ken was preceded in death by his father in 1996.

Prewett, R. Michael
February 11, 1937 - October 30, 2004

R. Michael Prewett, 67, of Shepherd went to be with his Lord on Saturday, October 30, 2004, at home with his family by his side.

Funeral services for Michael will be Wednesday, November 3, at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Community Church with Pastor Scott McKee officiating. Interment will take place in Greenmound cemetery in Beloit, Kansas, at a later date. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 2, from 4-8 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel and on Wednesday, November 3, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Mt. Pleasant Community Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Community Church or Hospice of Mid-Michigan. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Michael was born on February 11, 1937, in Salina, Kansas, the son of Ralph and Mary (Washington) Prewett. He married Jeanette Garinger on August 30, 1959, in Salina, KS. Michael served as a Captain in the U.S. Army. He received a master’s degree in engineering from Kansas State University and was self-employed for 31 years in Michael Engineering, Ltd.. Michael was a member and elder of the Mt. Pleasant Community Church. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Lions Club. Michael loved woodworking, sailing, and farming as a hobby.

Michael is survived by his wife, Jeanette; his children Ralph (Marcille) Prewett, Eric (Leah) Prewett, Elizabeth (Charles) Kepner, all of Shepherd; 12 grandchildren; and a sister Patricia Seaman of Liberal, KS.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Ron Seaman.

Ervin, Ronald Stanley
September 20, 1923 - October 29, 2004

Ronald Stanley Ervin, 81, of Mt. Pleasant passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 29, 2004, at his home.

A Funeral Mass for Ronald will be on Tuesday, November 2, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Mt. Pleasant with Fr. Robert Byrne officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 31, from 2-5 p.m. and Monday, November 1, from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel and also on Tuesday, November 2, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Sacred Heart Church. There will be a prayer service Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Isabella County Commission on Aging. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Ronald was born on September 20, 1923, in Rosebush, Michigan, the son of Stanley and Edna (Clevenger) Ervin. He married Frances Beltinck on March 1, 1941. He was a lifelong resident of Mt. Pleasant and a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his winters in Florida, and his summers at his cottage on Goose Lake in Lake City. He was a kind, compassionate and generous man, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a very strong patriarch of his family.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 63 years, Frances Ervin of Mt. Pleasant; four children, Richard S. (Jane) Ervin of Mt. Pleasant, Robert L. (Linda) Ervin of Mt. Pleasant, Ronald S. (Kathy) Ervin of East China, Michigan, and William T. (Carol) Ervin of Mt. Pleasant; 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, his sister Maxine (Douglas) Wiltsie of Dowagiac; and good friend Norm McCann.

Ronald preceded in death by his parents.

Connors, Evelyn Mae
July 16, 1920 - October 26, 2004

A Memorial Mass to celebrate the life of Evelyn Connors will be held on Monday, November 1, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Mt. Pleasant.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 31st from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel, 114 S. Bradley Street, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.

Her family and friends are invited to share this memorial with her daughter, Connie; sons, Thomas and Timothy; and granchildren, Rene', Donald and William; her sisters, Shirley Chapman, Mary Lou Zimmerman, Barbara Pappas and Beverly Loomis. Fr. Robert Byrne will celebrate the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Hospice of Central Michigan, Inc.

Evelyn, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away in Shepherd, MI. She was a 1939 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. She worked at Sacred Heart School cafeteria for ten years; and retired in 1981 from fifteen years in food service at Central Michigan University. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Veterans of Foreign Wars-National Home, and St. Paul's Catholic Church, Onaway, MI.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, to whom she was married for 65 years; son, Robert Connors; her mother and father, Gladys King Lawther and Thomas Sikkenga; and one sister, Geraldine Sheredy.

Pung, Scott
October 13, 1955 - October 25, 2004

Scott Pung, 49, of Mt. Pleasant passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 25, 2004, at his home.

Funeral services for Scott will be Saturday, October 30, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel with Dr. Joe Frankenfield officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside cemetery in Alma. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 28, 2004, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, October 29, 2004 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Scott was born on October 13, 1955, in Alma, the son of Mark and Gaylene (Huff) Pung. He graduated from Alma High School in 1974 and attended Northwood University. Scott married Donna Kukla on December 7, 1997 in Las Vegas. Scott worked for M&M Chevrolet, Lobdell Refinery and Hicks Construction before becoming co-owner of Scott Pung Auto Sales 9 years ago. He was a member of the Safari Club International and enjoyed golf, hunting and snowmobiling.

Scott is survived by his wife, Donna of Mt. Pleasant; Children, Marc J. Pung of Mt. Pleasant, Katie I. Pung (Tony McDonald) of Mt. Pleasant and Mathew McClarren of Grand Rapids; mother, Gay Pung of Mt. Pleasant; mother and father-in-law, John and Donna Kukla of Florida; brother, Jeffrey (Susan) Pung of Alma and sister, Tracey (Robert) Castillon of Alma.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Mark Pung in 1971 and his brother, Christopher Pung in 1988.

Hader, Zelta Jean
March 10, 1930 - October 25, 2004

Zelta Jean Hader, 74, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Monday, October 25, 2004, at her home.

Funeral services for Zelta will be Friday, October 29, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel with Tom Shephard officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 29, 2004 from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral chapel.

Zelta was born on March 10, 1930, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Thomas and Frances (Jacob) Blake. She married Alex Hader on June 6, 1970 in Saginaw. Zelta was employed at Wendel's Furniture Store for 6 years.

Zelta is survived by her husband, Alex of Mt. Pleasant; brother, Thomas Ollin (Mary Alice) Blake of Traverse City and sisters, Ada June Blake, Norma Doris Blake and Martha Jane Blake.

Zelta was preceded in death by her parents.

Swain, Ethel
November 6, 1907 - October 23, 2004

Ethel Swain, age 96, of St. Louis formerly of Mt. Pleasant died on Saturday, October 23, 2004, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw.

Funeral Services for Ethel will be held on Tuesday, October 26, at ll a.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel with Rev. Michelle LaMew officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 25, from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gratiot County Humane Society, Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Ethel was born November 6, 1907, in Natural Dam, Arkansas, the daughter of Sank Riddle and Willie (Hill) Riddle. She married Thomas Power on March 5, 1927, and he preceded her in death in 1949. She later married Edmund Swain in 1963, and he preceded her in death. Ethel was employed for 18 years as housemother to the Zeta Sorority and was made an honorary member in 1980.

Ethel is survived by her daughter, Sandra Stiven of Flint, grandchildren, Suzan Wenzlick, Penny Zaleski, Terry Spence, Margie Bors, and Vickie Gebue; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Dorothy Mecomber of Texas, and several nieces and nephews.

Ethel was preceded in death by both of her husbands; 1 son James Wilbur Power; 3 sisters Sammy Riddle, Ada Gallagher, and Lorene Stonecipher; and 1 brother Howard Riddle.

Smith, Robert M.
July 28, 1940 - October 19, 2004

Robert M. Smith, 64, of Weidman passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at his brother’s home.

Cremation has taken place per his wishes. Memorial Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Robert was born on July 28, 1940 in Derry, Pennsylvania, the son of Steven and Mary (Kennedy) Mehalic. He graduated from high school and attended college before serving in the Navy as First Class Petty Officer during Vietnam. Robert worked for the Gallatin County Newspaper in Bozeman, Montana from 1970 until 1998. He also worked for Slot Machine Company in Bozeman, Montana. Robert was a member of the American Legion, Fraternal Order of Eagles and a former member of the V.F.W.

Robert is survived by her brothers, Michael (Carolyn) Smith of Weidman, John (Joan) Mitchell of Pensacola, Florida and Ronald (Laura) Lukovich of Aurora, Colorado and sister, Ellen (Bill) Atkinson of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
