Wheeler, Joshua George
March 4, 1986 - May 28, 2005

Joshua George Wheeler, a.k.a. Joshie, Wheels, Wheeler, Brudder, Big Boy, died Saturday, May 28, 2005 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Josh graduated from Beal City High School in 2004 and attended Central Michigan University part-time his freshman year. For the past five years, he worked with his great grandma and uncle at Chaffee’s Farm Service. He enjoyed his work; when he wasn’t throwing apples to keep the bulls away or bottle feeding calves, he worked as a tractor mechanic. Josh loved anything that had an engine. He spent many hours with his grandpa fixing up a wrecked 1999 Camaro for his first car and was very proud of the finished result, refusing to drive it on any stretch of gravel road. He also loved jet-skiing, snowmobiling, boating, and any other sport considered even remotely dangerous. Josh loved to tell stories; sometimes the same stories at least two or three times. From the time he was very young, Josh accidentally (and a bit annoyingly) memorized books and movies, most notably the book-on-tape “It Zwibble the Star-Touched Dinosaur” when he was five, and movies like Speed and Bad Boys. Josh could make friends wherever he went. He loved being with “his girls” and having fun with all his buddies. In his spare time, he enjoyed making brief phone calls to friends in order to say one special word, as well as sleeping, quoting lines from Napoleon Dynamite, bumping the bass in his car at approximately a million decibels, and running.

Visitation will be held at Clark Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, May 31, from 6-9 p.m. and Wednesday, June 1 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. The funeral will be held at Clark Funeral Chapel on Thursday, June 2 at 2 p.m. and will be followed by burial and a dinner at Sherman Township Hall.

Memorial contributions may be made in order to build a scholarship in Josh’s name.

Josh is survived by his parents Mark and Deana Wheeler, his sister Shena, and his maternal grandparents Allan and Pat Marshall, all of Farwell, his maternal great grandmother Aletha Chaffee of Weidman, his uncle Darrin Marshall of Lake, his grandmother Loraine Wheeler of Mt. Pleasant, his uncle Scott Wheeler of Mt. Morris, his uncle Lance (Alice) Wheeler of Blanchard, and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends
