Cook, Caroline Sophie
December 3, 1919 - July 2, 2005

Caroline Cook, 85, of Mt. Pleasant passed away from this life to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 2, 2005 at her home.

Funeral services for Caroline will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at 1 p.m. from the New Hope Methodist Church in Mecosta. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. The family will also receive friends on Tuesday July 5, 2005 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Chapel in Mt. Pleasant. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Central Michigan or the Wheatland Church of Christ in Remus. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and the church.

Caroline was born on December 3, 1919 to her parents George Lindley Norman and Irene (Todd) Norman. She married her husband Jay Allen Cook on November 25, 1941.

Caroline is survived by her daughters, Sharon H.(Cook) Peters of Mt. Pleasant and Janice M. (Cook) Fleming and her husband Alvin both of Mt. Pleasant. Her grandchildren are Robert and Karen Steib of Royal Oak, Renee’ and Ken Read of Mt. Pleasant, Robert Peters of Mt. Pleasant, and Shannon and Brenda Peters of Mt. Pleasant, as well as Lee Fleming of Mt. Pleasant and Tyrone Fleming of Remus. She had 16 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Caroline was preceded in death by her loving husband Jay Allen, parents George and Irene, sisters Paula Harris, Maxine Hargo, and her brother Alvin Norman.

Neff, Linda Lou
January 1, 1943 - July 1, 2005

Linda L. Neff, 62, of Mears, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2005, at home.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 2, 2005 at Clark Funeral Chapel from 2-4 p.m.

Linda was born January 1, 1943, in Owosso, MI. the daughter of Leonard and Betty (Ordway) Matthews. She married Edward Henry Neff on May 12, 1961. Linda was active with the VFW and loved playing bingo.

Linda is survived by her husband Edward Neff of Mears, children; Jamie (Jeff) Wheeler of Mt. Pleasant, Julie (Dan) Zalinov of Naples, FL, Mark (Cathy) Neff of Naples, FL, Mike (Drota) Neff of Naples, FL, and Cassie (Lucino) Bome of Naples FL. Linda is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson and her sister, Kathy (Vic) Turk of Owosso.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Leonard, and 2 brothers Ken & Butch Matthews.

Laurence Connelly, 67, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2005 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. Cremation has taken place.

Cook, Wells F.
May 20, 1928 - June 30, 2005

Wells F. Cook, 77, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2005 at Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit.

Funeral services for Wells will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at 11 a.m. from the First United Methodist Church with Rev. John Boley officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church or Central Michigan University. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and the church.

Wells was born on May 20, 1928 in Ovid, MI the son of Wayne and Beatrice Cook. He served in the Unites States Army. Wells married Lois Anderson on June 20, 1952 in Indian River. He received his PHD from Michigan State University in 1973. Wells life long career was teaching. He taught at Owosso High School, Army Clerk School at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, Fenton High School, Dondero High School in Royal Oak, at then Central Michigan University where he taught as a professor of business education. Wells retired from CMU December 12, 1997. He was an active member and past president of MBEA (business teachers), performed accreditations visits for ACICS, participated in the MEA, was a registered parliamentarian, and was a member and officer for the Michigan Registered Parliamentarians. He authored “Meetings: Agendas and Minutes” for the Michigan Municipal League. Wells was a member of First United Methodist Church where he played in the hand bell choir, sang in the chancel choir, served as chair of the Staff-Parish Relations Committee, and was a certified lay speaker.

Wells is survived by his wife Lois; children, Natalie (Phillip) Hermes of Clyde, Texas, Annette Cook (Cheryl Paterson) of San Francisco, CA and Wayne Cook of Grand Rapids; grandchildren Keith and Alice Hermes; brothers Norman (Ellen) Cook of Arizona and Douglas (Eloise) Cook of St. Johns; and sister Diane (Charles) Hazle of St. Johns.

Wells was preceded in death by his sister, Jane Squires.

Allbee, Delbert E.
July 29, 1933 - June 30, 2005

Delbert E. Allbee, 71, of Remus, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday, June 30, 2005.

Funeral services for Delbert will be held on Sunday, July 3, 2005 at 2 p.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ricky Brooks officiating. Visitation for Delbert will begin on Saturday July 2 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the chapel.

Delbert was born July 29, 1933, in Farwell, MI, the son of Julius and Lucille (Wixson) Allbee. He married Carol Doty on October 31, 1979 in Farwell. Delbert served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed hunting. Delbert was very family oriented and loved his children and grandchildren.

Delbert is survived by his wife, Carol of Remus; children, Carol (Greg) Vest of Vestaburg; Leon Lyon Jr. of Oil City; Sandra (Ralph) Kenworthy of Weidman; Sharon (Matthew) Howell of San Angelo, TX; Delbert (Andrea) Allbee II; Julius (Tammy) Allbee and Carl Allbee all of Mt. Pleasant, grandchildren, Kathena; Luke; Mercede; Ralph II; Hunter; Dekota; Trittiany; Valecia; Derek; Ricky; Bryce and Juliua, sisters, Lois Shea of Clare and Judy (Ron) Boyd of Weidman.

Delbert was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Pappas, Barbara "Tiny" J.
November 14, 1932 - June 29, 2005

Barbara “Tiny” J. Pappas, 72, of Rosebush passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at Mid Michigan Medical Center in Midland.

A Funeral Mass for Tiny will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2005 at 10 a.m. from St. Henry’s Catholic Church with Father Jeffrey Donner officiating and Lorraine McGuinness co-officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Henry cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 30, 2005 from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, July 1, 2005 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. with a prayer service at 8 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association or Michigan Stroke Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and the church.

Tiny was born on November 14, 1932 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of William and Gladys (King) Lowther. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School, class of 1951. Tiny married Thomas Pappas on June 26, 1954 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She worked for the Mt. Pleasant Center as Domestic Housekeeping Lead Worker for 23 years and as ward clerk for CMCH for 12 years prior. She was a member for St. Henry’s Catholic Church and was a former member of the Alter Society at St. Henry’s. Tiny participated in golf leagues in Michigan and Florida. She loved camping, bingo and playing cards.

Tiny is survived by her husband, Thomas; children, Mary Beth Pappas, Patricia Pappas, Nancy Ann Pappas, Thomas (Jamee) Pappas all of Rosebush and Gus (Sue) Pappas of Clare; grandchildren, Colleen, Jared, Augustus, Kyra and Jillian and sisters, Shirley Chapman of Lakeland, FL, Mary Lou (Bill) Zimmerman of Clio and Beverly (Leroy) Loomis of Elwell.

Tiny was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Evelyn Connors and Geraldine Sheredy.

Davis, Richard Leroy
June 4, 1933 - June 29, 2005

Richard Leroy Davis, 72, of Harrison passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at Gratiot Community Hospital. Cremation has taken place.

Dennis, Bernice E.
March 21, 1920 - June 27, 2005

Bernice Emeline Ludwig-Dennis, 84, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Monday, June 27, 2005 at Gratiot Community Hospital.

Funeral services for Bernice will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2005 at 1 p.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel with Deacon John Wilberding officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday, June 30, 2005 from 11 a.m. until time of service at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Cancer Services. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Bernice was born on March 21, 1921 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Cretsinger) Ludwig. She married Cecil Dennis in June 1939. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1970. Bernice managed Deerfield Village Apartments and Downtown Drugs. She enjoyed fishing, hunting pheasant, snowmobiling, bingo, cards, gardening flowers and reading.

Bernice is survived by her son, Roger (Joyce) Dennis of Mt. Pleasant and daughter-in-law, Barb Dennis of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Frank (Linda) Dennis, Becky (Rob) Warn, Julie Dennis, Rusty (Kristi) Dennis, Jake Dennis and Robin (C.J.) Hart; great-grandchildren, Jimi, Phillip, Hunter, Makenzie, Wyatt, Hannah, Caleb, Amber and Aaron; Marion (Lena) Ludwig Sr. of Mt. Pleasant; numerous nieces and nephews and beloved dog, Bobby Dennis.

Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Dennis; sons, Cecil Dennis, Jr. and Russell Ray Dennis Sr.; Granddaughter, Patricia Ann Dennis; brother, Leonard Ludwig; sister, Nora Ludwig and her parents.

Bridget, Eleanor Isabelle
July 23, 1920 - June 26, 2005

Eleanor Isabelle Bridget, 84, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2005 at Thornapple Manor in Hastings, Michigan.

Funeral services for Eleanor will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at 11 a.m. from Trinity Wesleyan Church with Pastor Wayne Boughan officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine River cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 28, 2005 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel and on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Wesleyan Church or Barry County Hospice. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel and the church.

Eleanor was born on July 23, 1920 in Cheboygan, MI, the daughter of Frank and Emiline (Oben) Jodway. She married Gerald Richard Bridget on January 30, 1943 in Mt. Pleasant. He preceded her in death in 1979. Eleanor was a member of the Trinity Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed gardening, puzzles and crochet.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Shirley (Joseph) Lezan of Lansing, Donald (Theresa) Bridget of Mt. Pleasant and Barbara (Bernie) Smith of Woodland, MI; eight grandchildren; Twenty great-grandchildren; brothers, Virgil Jodway of Indiana and Roy Jodway of Nebraska and one sister, Bernice Gothup of Fremont, MI.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Paul, Raymond, Alphonse, Leo, Victor and Lawrence and sisters, Ella Wood and Delores Davis.

Winchell, Suzanne R.
September 13, 1931 - June 26, 2005

Suzanne R. Winchell, 73, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2005, at her home. Cremation has taken place.

Davidson, Michael R.
January 2, 1987 - June 25, 2005

Michael Ray Davidson, 18, of Weidman passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2005 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Funeral services for Michael will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at 1 p.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mark Terry officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will available at the funeral chapel.

Michael was born on January 2, 1987 in Pontiac, the son of William Walters and Debra Marie Davidson. He played basketball for the Special Olympics sports program in Alma. Michael played center and was nicknamed “too tall.” After his death, Michael continued to help people by donating his organs.

Michael is survived by his parents, William Walters and Debra Perna; brothers, David (fiancee’ Starr) Davidson and John Davidson; sister, Erica Perna; niece, Makayla Davidson; uncles, John (Pat) Davidson and Bill (Renee) Davidson and his aunt, Shawnee Miles.

Michael was preceded in death by his grandmother, Carmen Theresa Davidson.

Fuller, Edwin C.
June 10, 1916 - June 23, 2005

Edwin C. Fuller, 89, of Mt. Pleasant went to be with his Lord on Thursday, June 23, 2005 at Tendercare Nursing Home in Mt. Pleasant.

Memorial services for Ed will be held on Monday, June 27, 2005 at 3 p.m. from Immanuel Lutheran Church. In lieu for flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association. Envelopes will be available at the church and Clark Funeral Chapel.

Ed was born on June 10, 1916 in Conneaut, Ohio, the son of Clifford and Mabel (Hall) Fuller. He served in the United States Army as a medic during World War II. Ed married Bernice R. Bargert on June 15, 1946 in Monroe. He worked as sales manager for Crest Manufacturing for 38 years before retiring in 1979. Ed was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Senior Citizens Group and Food with Friends. He enjoyed golfing and in his later years, he loved to mow the lawn.

Ed is survived by his wife, Bernice; children, Suzanne C. (Kenneth) Smith of Canton and Gary (Donna Jane) Fuller of Mt. Pleasant; five grandchildren; Eleven great-grandchildren and two brothers, Bert (Florence) Fuller of Kentucky and Robert Lee (Margaret) Fuller of Arizona.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents and twin sister, Edna Molner.

Ertman, Pauliene L.
August 6, 1920 - June 22, 2005

Pauliene L. Hertman, 84, of Harrison passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at TenderCare in Clare.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held on Friday, June 24, 2005 at 6p.m. from the Trinity Christian Life Center in Harrison.

Losey, Gerald "Jerry"
February 21, 1931 - June 19, 2005

Gerald “Jerry” Losey, 74, of Weidman died, Sunday June 19, 2005, at his home with his family at his bedside.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 26, at 2 p.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel in Mt. Pleasant. Friends may call at the funeral chapel on Sunday, June 26, from 1 p.m. until time of service.

Jerry was born on February 21, 1931, to Charlie and Hattie (Dutcher) Losey at the Losey Homestead, west of Weidman. On July 30, 1950, he married Marilyn (Gross) of Weidman. Together they raised their five children next door from where Jerry was born. He graduated from Weidman High School with the class of 1949. Jerry went to work at Fischer Body in Lansing for 2 ½ years. Not caring for factory work, he returned back to the farm where he worked with his father, farming. Jerry’s love for the out-of-doors drove him to driving heavy equipment. He went to work at Lake Isabella helping build roads and shaping the greens on the golf course. He ended his working career at Hubscher & Son, Inc. in August 2004. His interests included hunting, golfing, camping, and family get-togethers.
Jerry was very devoted to his family and grandchildren, whom he loved dearly and taught them many things about the tools of life.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn; 1 son, Gary (Brigitte) Losey; 3 daughters, Sue (Bruce) Chapman, Beth (Roger) Flaugher, all of Weidman, and Patti (Jamie) Burkholder of Rosebush; 11 grandchildren, Chad (Rachel) Chapman, Jason Chapman, Callie and Lindsey Burkholder, Jessica and Jared Losey, Meagan and Eric Flaugher, Ryan (Andrea) Dunn, Jeremy Dunn, and Cody Evans, two great grandchildren , Makenzie Chapman and Charlie Dunn; 1 brother, Harold (Lois) Losey; and 1 sister, Ardis (Theron) Merrihew of Mt. Pleasant.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Nancy Dunn.
