McFADDEN, CALVIN R.; age 68; of Holly; died Sunday, September 21, 2008. He was born in Detroit on February 6, 1940; the son of Calvin and Beatrice (Deittrick) McFadden. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1957, and then served in the US Army. He was a former employee of Soltis Plastics and enjoyed bowling and golfing. He is survived by two sons, Tim McFadden of Orion and Mark McFadden of Holly; brothers and sisters Connie House of Milford, Judy McGee of Highland, Terry Engender of Fenton, Claudette Grabowski, Cynthia Pelletier, Cheryl Mannarino, Carl McFadden, the late Rachel Sutton, Christopher McFadden, and Peter McFadden; many nieces and nephews; and companion and dog, Princess. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at the Dryer Funeral Home Holly. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

McKOWN, DAIN R.; age 79; of Troy; died September 13, 2008. Loving husband of Joyce; father of Patrick (Jean) of Allegan, MI, Stephen (Nancy) of Douglas, MI, Kevin (Nancy) of Madison, Wisconsin, Scott (Lori) of Mentor, Ohio; grandfather of Shawn, Meghan, Brendan, Trevor, Caitlin, Rebecca and Scott; great grandfather of Audrey; brother of late Anita Kraus. Mr. McKown served in the post W.W. II Army and received a BA and MA from Michigan State University. He retired in 1986 from Michigan Bell Telephone Company as a District Manager; Services will be private. Beloved mother of Jeffrey Johnson; dear daughter of John (Donna) Hudson and Carol (Dennis) Bennett; sister of John (Kari) Hudson and David Hudson; aunt of Hunter; girlfriend of Peter Manolakas. Funeral Service Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Coats Funeral Home, Waterford. Family will receive friends Tuesday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

GLAZER, MURRAY; age 64; of Davisburg; passed away September 27, 2008; surrounded by his loving family. Murray is survived by his loving wife Nancy; his dear children Steven (Rhonda) Glazer, Corrie (Greg) Catarra and David Glazer; he is the proud grandfather of Nicholas, Jayden and Catie; brother of Marcia (Tim) Donatti and Kathleen (Mike) Gignilliat; and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was employed at Lafontaine Automotive Group. Murray had many hobbies. He loved woodworking. He had a passion for traveling and going up North. He spent many hours of enjoyment restoring his classic cars. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 5481 Dixie Highway, Waterford. The family will receive visitors on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. at the Highland Chapel of The Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Rd., Highland. Mr. Glazer will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in All Saints cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart or Cancer Society.

WATSON, BARBARA (BIGGS); age 69; of Holly; died Monday, September 29, 2008. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 2008, at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Rev. Faith Timmons officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Watson was born in Pontiac on Dec. 6, 1938, the daughter of John and Amy (Clevenger) Biggs. She was a local Holly girl all her life. She graduated from Holly High School in 1956 and was employed by Holly Spring for 18 years. She and her husband, Walt, owned their own business, The Holly Tree Flowers and Gifts, on Saginaw St. in Holly, for the past 25 years. She loved her family, flowers, friends, Red Hat Retro Rubies and animals. She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Walter "Walt" Watson; very special aunt, Louise Smigelski of Lapeer; brothers and sister-in-law, Jim and Bertha Watson of Holly, Carl Watson of Holly, Janette and Raymond "Pat" Patterson of FL; cousins, Butch and Priscilla Watson of Alba; nephews, Frank (Janet) Watson of Brighton, Paul Watson of TX, and Bobbie Patterson of FL; special friends, Cheryl Francis and Evie Gudith, both of Holly; and her dog and companion, Lucy. She was preceded in death by her parents and half brothers, Elvis and Howard Biggs.

JONES, VANCE C.; age 68; of Ferndale, formerly of Rochester; passed away August 31, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred C. and Leona Jones, of Mt. Vernon, along with his brother, Paul Jones, of Rochester. He leaves behind his dear friend, Diane Benavides; his brother, F. Bruce (June) Jones, of Mt. Pleasant; and his sister, Linda Nicholls, of Rochester; he is also survived by his nephews, Jeffrey (Bethany) Jones, Christopher (Cynthia) Jones, Timothy (Jill) Jones, Dr. James (Deborah) Jones, Mitchell (Kimberly) Jones and Ian Nicholls; and niece, Aimee (Joseph) Pico. In addition to many cousins and longtime friends, Vance had 16 great nieces and nephews. Mr. Jones attended Michigan State University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Vance will always be remembered for his love and knowledge of thoroughbred race horses. A Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Drive, in Rochester, followed by inurnment in Mt. Vernon cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church in Washington, MI, or the Salvation Army Church in Royal Oak.

KREUZKAMP, GEORGE D.; age 95; September 22, 2008. Beloved husband of the late Anita; loving father of George and Richard; brother of Lincoln (Barbara) Kreuzkamp and Elizabeth (Austin) Walsh. He was preceded in death by his brothers August and Paul. George lived in Rochester Hills, Michigan for 54 years. George and Anita Mense were married in Chicago, on June 24, 1944 and they spent 41 loving years together. As a life long dedicated Agricultural Engineer George was involved with the development of farm machinery with The International Harvester Company, The Oliver Company, and Ford Tractor and Implement. His work put him in direct contact with farmers throughout the country, which is what he treasured the most about his career. Living 54 years in the same neighborhood made George someone everybody could depend upon for his help, advice and trust. His love for his neighbors and his pets will be missed. George is also survived by his 5 cats, Ace, Fuzz Buzz, Bits, Van Gogh, and Whitey. No Memorial Service is planned at this time.

BIANCHI, MARION; of Waterford; October 7, 2008; age 75. Wife of the late Artemio Bianchi; loving mother of Mary (Aart), Sherry (Dave), Robin (Curt), David (Brenda) and Brian (Lynn); dear sister of Roland (Ilene) Schwalb and the late Ann Schwalb; also cherished by 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Mrs. Bianchi was a saleswoman at the Marianne Store at the Summit Place Mall. Memorial Service will be Friday, October 10, 2008, 11 a.m. at the Riverside Chapel, Simpson-Modetz Funeral Home, 5630 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford. Officiating Rabbi Marla Hornsten. NORTH, BROOKS L.; of Waterford; passed away October 6, 2008 after fighting a battle with Diabetes; age 39. Beloved son of Lyle and Rose North; dear brother of Troy (Geana) North, Shauna North and Trisha (Donald) Fischer; beloved grandson of Pauline North, Donna Wilson and Robert Wilson; special companion of Missey Partridge and good friend of Dave Wade; Godson of Jim Klomp; special uncle of Lucas; also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Brooks was a 1987 graduate of Waterford Kettering High School. Memorial Service will be Monday, October 13, 2008, 2 p.m. at the White Lake Presbyterian Church, 4805 E. Highland Road, White Lake. PHELPS, LEONA M.; of Waterford, Bradenton, FL and Presque Isle Harbor, MI; October 8, 2008; at 84 years of age. Loving wife of the late Frank Joseph Phelps, Sr. (Feb. 3, 2008); devoted mother of David (Barbara) Phelps, Carol Spencer, Larry (Karen) Phelps, Mary (Paul) Whitener, John (Pam) Phelps and the late Frank Joseph (the late Mary Ann) Phelps, Jr.; sister of the late Evelyn Velzy; also survived by 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Mrs. Phelps retired from Campbell-Nelles CPA. She was a member of the Sigma Beta Psi Sorority. In State Saturday, October 11, 2008 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church until the time of Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Interment following at All Saints cemetery, Waterford. WALLACE, LANEY FRANK ; of Waterford; went peacefully to the Lord October 9, 2008; at 73 years of age. He was born April 25, 1935 in Dover, TN to the late Elias and Eva Wallace. Beloved husband of Edna Wallace for 52 years; dear father of Richard (Barbara) Wallace, Carolyn (Keith) Vandenkieboom and David (Kathy) Wallace; grandfather of Richard, Aaron, David, Lindsey, Shelby and Kaitlyn Wallace, Case and Brittany Vandenkieboom; great grandfather of Jaden Wallace. Frank retired from GM Cadillac in December, 1987 after 32 years of service. He was a member of the UAW Local 22 and the Masonic Lodge #475. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 to 9 p.m. at COATS FUNERAL HOME, Waterford. Funeral Service will be held in Murray, KY at Imes-Miller Funeral Home. KING, MARGARET E.; of Clarkston; October 7, 2008; age 90. Preceded in death by her husband Oris King and her daughter Kathleen Houston. Loving mother of Nancy (Ken) Davidson and David (Fritz) Jackson; grandmother of Janet (Chip) Rascher, Jeff (Lisa) Davidson, Gary Todd (Kristen) Failla, Jennifer (Kevin) Morris, Holly (Jimmy) Choi and Missy (David) Tinkis; step-grandmother of Jackie (Jeff) Mason, Patrick (Denise) Herta and John (Renee) Itoney; sister of Lyle Walker, Dorothy Crawford, and Marilyn (Chet) Romatowski; also survived by six great grandchildren and eight step-great grandchildren. HAZELETT-RETTIG, EMMER LEE; of Clarkston; October 8, 2008; at 82 years of age. Beloved wife of Edward E. Bud Rettig and the late Donald Hazelett; dear mother of James (Toni) Hazelett, Robert (Kathryn) Hazelett, William (Darcee) Hazelett, Bill (Joyce) Rettig, Barbara (Dan) Compagnoni and Betty (Harold) Tufel; also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. GEIGER, SUSAN ELLEN; 69; of Rochester, formerly of Port Huron; died October 8, 2008 in Troy. She was born April 27, 1939 in Muskegon to the late Raymond and Leona Hilt. Susan graduated from the University of Michigan and was a teacher. She moved to Port Huron in 1968 and began a career in antiques. She owned and operated Olde Store on Union Street and Attic Antiques on Military Street. Susan was a past president of the Antique Dealers Association. She is survived by her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William C. (Holly) Hartman of Warrenton, VA; a grandchild, Clara D. Hartman; two brothers, Dr. and Mrs. Raymond J. (Jackie) Hilt, of Muskegon and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce A. (Linda) Hilt of Port Huron Township; a nephew, Matthew Raymond Hilt of Port Huron; and a niece, Mr. and Mrs. Noel (Amy) Harrington of Muskegon. Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2008 in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with Visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery, Port Huron Township. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the People s Clinic.

WAGNER, ROBERT M.; age 87; of Rochester; died October 7, 2008. A Navy veteran of W.W.II, he retired in 1987 from Chrysler Corporation as an engineering executive after 37 years of service. He was past president of Big Brothers, a former active member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church and was presently an active member of First Baptist Church. Beloved husband of Sally, who preceded him in death on March 20, 2008; dear father of William (Patty) Wagner, George (Elizabeth) Wagner, Richard (Cheryl) Wagner, Robert (Terese) Wagner, Martha (Tim) Maxwell, Sarah (Mark) Hubler and Amy Wagner; stepfather of Michalle (Robert Sobieralski) Ross and Casey (Glenn Witalec) Ross; also survived by 17 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; brother of Jack Wagner and the late Molly Turgeon, Marion Burroughs and Martha Jane Parker. BARNFATHER, GERALD R.; age 74; of Weeki Wachee, FL; passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2008, at Hudson Hospice Care Center. Jerry was born in Pontiac, Michigan, retiring to Florida in 1993. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church and retiree of General Motors. He was involved with community theatres for many years, the Lakeland Players and Clarkston Village Players. He was also co-founder of Sugarmill Woods Stagecrafters in FL, and also involved in theatrical promotions. Jerry was truly a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. His love will remain forever in their hearts. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Gail Barnfather of Weeki Wachee, FL; daughter, Lana Sioma (Jeffery) of TX; son, Jeffrey Barnfather (Laura) of IN; brother, Sid Britton (JoAnn) of FL; sister, Lois Buetter, MI; sister-in-law, Harriet Barnfather; six grandchildren, Michael, Candace, Devon, Steven, Christopher and Nickolaus; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Service willbe held at All Saints Episcopal Church, Pontiac, MI, on Thursday, December 4, at 1 p.m. Interment following at White Chapel Memorial cemetery in Troy, MI.
