Clyde (Ray) Kimberlin

April 12, 1923 – Dec. 9, 2002

Services have been set for Clyde (Ray) Kimberlin, 79, of Monroe, who died at 5 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo. He had been in the hospital since Oct. 30.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight and from noon to 9 Wednesday at Earle Little Funeral Home, Bacarella Chapel, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Elders Kenneth Wilson and Charles Murphy, both of Monroe Primitive Baptist Church, will co-officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.

Born April 12, 1923, in LaFollette, Tenn., he was the son of Frank and Emma Love (Turner) Kimberlin. He married June R. Parrott Aug. 4, 1945, in LaFollette.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Don R. (Joelyn) of Brooklyn, Mich.; a daughter, Ellen L. (John) Gordon of Monroe; two brothers, John of Norman, Okla., and Ovid of Monroe; a sister, Alma Edwards of Speedwell, Tenn.; four grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.

Bonnie Lou Johnson

July 5, 1937-Dec. 8, 2002

TOLEDO – Services have been set for Bonnie Lou Johnson, 65, of Toledo, formerly of Temperance, who died Sunday at Medical College of Ohio.

Friends may call until 8 tonight at Bedford Funeral Chapel, Temperance, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. John Paschen Jr., pastor emeritus of Shelton Park Baptist Church, Lambertville, will officiate.

Born July 5, 1937, in Temperance, she was the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (Parshall) Niederhauser.

Surviving are her mother, Elizabeth Adalaide Bowman; a son, Robert C. Sr. of Lambertville; three daughters, Sherri Kay Harris of Toledo, Machelle Renee McFarland of Ottawa Lake and Janelle Diane (James) Halstead of Toledo; two brothers, Larry and John (Jackie); two sisters, Marilyn Furfaro and Colleen Hamman; 13 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Dorothy M. (Beavers) Anderson

Jan. 17, 1925-Dec. 7, 2002

TOLEDO — Dorothy M. (Beavers) Anderson, 77, of Toledo, who has relatives living in Monroe County, died at 11:10 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center after a long illness.

Friends may call until 8 tonight at Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Savior Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.

Surviving are a son, John (Margie) Beavers of Monroe; two daughters; a stepdaughter, Kathy Louttit of Monroe; a brother; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Jessie M. Green

July 7, 1917-Dec. 7, 2002

ROMULUS – Jessie M. Green, 85, of Romulus, formerly of Sumpter Township, died Saturday.

Friends may call from noon to 9 Wednesday at Crane Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Evans Bentley, pastor of First United Methodist Church, Flat Rock, will officiate. Burial will be in Mallet cemetery, Huron Township.

Born July 7, 1917, in Sumpter Township, she was the daughter of Elwin and Catherine (Hughes) Green.

Surviving are a brother, Raymond of New Boston, and eight sisters, Mrs. Frank (Gladys) Bordt of Romulus, Marian Krause of Belleville, Mrs. Harold (Cecil) Harris of Allen Park, Mrs. Melvin (Frances) Reeck of Adrian, Mrs. Elbert (Laura) Davis of Flat Rock, Helen Kowski of Belleville, Mrs. Gordon (Mildred) Miles of Grosse Ile and Dorothy Jones of Sarasota, Fla.

Sister Patricia (Rose Irene) Hogan, IHM

Oct. 6, 1928-Dec. 6, 2002

Sister Patricia (Rose Irene) Hogan, Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 74, died Friday at St. Mary Health Care Center.

Friends may call until 7:30 tonight at the IHM Motherhouse at St. Mary Center, where a remembrance service will begin at 7. Mass of the Resurrection will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the center. The Rev. Richard Mevissen will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery on the Mother-house campus. Rupp Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born Oct. 6, 1928, in Elyria, Ohio, she was the daughter of Howard and Mary (Schnitzler) Hogan. She entered the IHM community in Monroe in 1949, taking the religious name Sister Rose Irene.

Surviving are three brothers, Lawrence, Thomas and Herbert.

Shirley M. Breitner

Oct. 11, 1935-Dec. 9, 2002

PETERSBURG --Shirley M. Breitner, 67, of Petersburg died Monday in her home. She had been ill and had been under the in-home care of Arbor Hospice, Ann Arbor.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. John Mehl, pastor of Petersburg United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View cemetery.

Born Oct. 11, 1935, in Dundee, she was the daughter of Charles F. and Ortha L. (Smith) Kuhlman. She married Frank Breitner March 20, 1954.

Surviving are her husband; her stepfather, Carl Williams of Dundee; a son, Bret (Rebecca) of Petersburg; three daughters, Cathy A. (Ronald) Whipple of Monroe, Valerie Reed of Blissfield and Tracey McCollum of Temperance; a brother, James A. (Dawn) of Lambertville; three sisters, Wilma Edwards of Florida, Charlotte (Robert) Diver of Deerfield and Mary Ann Brooks of Monroe; 12 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

Herbert L. Jones

July 12, 1935-Dec. 9, 2002

Services have been set for Herbert L. Jones, 67, of Monroe who died at 5:12 p.m. Monday at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, where he had been for a week. He had been in poor health for a month.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Rupp Funeral Home. He will lie in state from 10 until services at 11 a.m. Friday at Bible Fellowship Church. The Rev. Eugene White, pastor emeritus of the church, and the Rev. David Kopka, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.

Born July 12, 1935, in Monroe, he was the son of Herbie and Gladys (Pierce) Jones. He married Vivian H. Parker March 5, 1955, in Monroe.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, H. Douglas (Sharon) of Lambertville and A. Keith of Monroe; three brothers, Eugene (Marlene) Jones and Johnny (Judy) Drummonds, both of Monroe and Jimmie (Cathy) Drummonds of LaSalle; a sister, Wanda (James) Fletcher of Monroe; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Peter J. Wafalosky

July 17, 1918 --Dec. 9, 2002

TOLEDO --Peter J. Wafalosky, 84, of Toledo, died Monday at Toledo Hospital.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bedford Funeral Chapel, Temperance, where the rosary will be recited at 7 by the Knights of Columbus, followed by presentation of the fourth-degree chalice. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home and 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Temperance. The Rev. Steve Vileo will officiate. Burial will be in St. Anthony cemetery, Temperance.

Born July 17, 1918, in Lynn, Mass., he was the son of Harry and Jadwiga (Buchalska) Wafalosky. He married Emily J. Yanuz April 28, 1946, in St. Hedwig Church, Elizabeth, N.J. She died Jan. 1, 1990.

Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Jeanne Wafalosky of Temperance; a sister, and two granddaughters.

Louis Stura

June 4, 1925 --Dec. 10, 2002

Louis Stura, 77, of Monroe died at 1:17 a.m. Tuesday at Mercy Memorial Hospital, where he had been for nine days. He had been ill for several years.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. Thursday at Allore Funeral Home. The Rev. Cliff Ervin of First Christian Baptist Church, Newport, will officiate. Monroe Post 1138, Veterans of Foreign Wars, will conduct military services afterwards at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.

Born June 4, 1925, in Burlington, Pa., he was the son of Anthony and Mary (Bertolina) Stura. He married Elizabeth Alwill, and she died August, 1981. He then married Helen DeVee Sept. 10, 1985.

In addition to his wife Helen, surviving are two sons, Christopher Stura of Lubbock, Texas, and Steven Comes of Pemberville, Ohio; a stepson, Gerard Comes of Toledo; 54 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Louis Petit

June 27, 1913 --Dec. 9, 2002

Louis Petit, 89, of Monroe died at 11:30 p.m. Monday at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He had been in poor health for six years and seriously ill since entering the care of Hospice four months ago.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Earle Little Funeral Home, Bacarella Chapel, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Jacqueline Holdsworth of St. Paul United Methodist Church and the Rev. James Scheick of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Grosse Ile, will co-officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.

Born June 27, 1913, in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of August and Veronica (Grey) Petit. He married Thelma A. Grace Oct. 31, 1942, in Ypsilanti.

In addition to his wife, surviving are a son, Monty L. (Pam) of Monroe; a daughter, Marilyn (Robert) Scheick of Toledo; a brother, Raymond (Lou) Petit of Newport; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Ralph R. Frisbee

July 25, 1910-Dec. 7, 2002

LEESBURG, Fla. – Services have been set for Ralph R. Frisbee, 92, of Leesburg, formerly of Monroe, who died Saturday at Leesburg Regional Medical Center.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Rupp Funeral Home, Monroe, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. The Revs. Joe Bryant, pastor of Union Street Missionary Baptist Church, Monroe, and William Wiswell of Sandusky, Ohio, will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.

Born July 25, 1910, in Marshall, N.C., he was the son of Wexter and Dovie (Crowder) Frisbee. He married Lela M. Hurst June 30, 1930, in Hamilton, Ohio.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Walter R. (Billie Jean) of Sandusky; two daughters, Juanita (James) Dalton of Leesburg and Elsie (James D.) Redmon of Lakeland, Mich.; a sister, Goldie Jackson of Hendersonville, N.C.; eight grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Antonio Lini

Sept. 27, 1928-Dec. 11, 2002

Antonio Lini, 74, of Monroe died Wednesday at Mercy Memorial Hospital. He had been ill for a year.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Rupp Funeral Home, where the rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home and at 10:30 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Maybee. The Rev. Michael Malawy, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery, Maybee.

Born Sept. 27, 1928, in Cassino, Italy, he was the son of Ameleto and Maddelena (DiMambro) Lini. He married Anna E. Megerle Dec. 31, 1953, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She died Jan. 23, 1995.

Surviving are two sons, Mario A. (Rebekah) of Monroe and John A. (Kathy) of Maybe; a daughter, Assunta B. “Sue” (Greg) Thomas of Monroe; three brothers, Mario and Dominic, both of Toronto and Guido of Italy, and seven grandchildren.

Sister Gertrude (Donalda) Mack, IHM

Jan. 29, 1909-Dec. 7, 2002

Sister Gertrude (Donalda) Mack, Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 93, died Saturday at St. Mary Health Care Center.

Friends may call from 2 to 7:30 tonight at IHM Motherhouse at St. Mary Center, where a remembrance service will begin at 7 tonight. Mass of the Resurrection will take place at 10 a.m. Friday at the center. The Rev. Richard Mevissen will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery on the Motherhouse campus. Rupp Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born Jan. 29, 1909, in Toledo, she was the daughter of Stanislaus and Kathryn (Lesniewicz) Mikolajczyk. She entered the IHM community in 1929, taking the religious name Sister Donalda.

Surviving are two sisters, Bernice and Winifred.
