GERTRUDE E. (TRUDY) DAVIS

nee Smith, October 23, 2006. Trudy grew up in Dearborn and attended Fordson High School. Her passions were rollerskating and church. She played string bass, loved to sing, and had a beautiful voice. She worked for 16-1/2 years at The American Red Cross, and has lived in Livonia for 50 years. Trudy devoted her life to caring for her family. She was loving, kind, self-sacrificing, thoughtful, considerate, compassionate, understanding, and forgiving. She is survived by her husband, William; seven children, William Davis, Jeannie Morucci, Richard Davis (deceased), Cynthia (Jeff) Peters, John (Tami) Davis, Linda Davis, and Sandra Davis. eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. While sweet and gentle, she had unbelievable strength and faith in times of adversity and pain.

ROSALIE T. ROTTMAN

Age 68. Formerly of Livonia, Died October 24, 2006. Beloved wife of Robert. Loving mother of the late Michael, Janet (Ken) Shureb, Mark (Rachel) Rottman, Sarah Thomason, and Beth Rottman. Loving Grandmother of Paula (Justin) Higdon, Diane, Theresa, Laura, Connie (Paul) Watson, Christine, Mackenzie, Edward and Krystal. Great-grandmother of Dalton and Delila. Dear sister of Sharon (Ed) Dutka. Memorial service to be held at a later date.

Beverly B. "Betty" Janssen

Age 84 of Howell, formerly of Hartland and New Lisbon, WI, died October 19, 2006. Beloved mother of: Carolyn Jacobs of Highland, Laurel (Dan) Ellerbrook of Buchanan, MI. Grandmother of: Stephanie Jacobs, Lee Ellerbrook, Sulin Ellerbrook. Also survived by her sister Lauella Cloyd and numerous good friends, including Anne Ballingall. A Memorial Service was held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty, Milford, Tuesday 11AM. Pastor Terry Claus officiated. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

WILLIAMS, PAUL E.

WILLIAMS, PAUL E., of Pontiac died December 28, 2004 at 56 years of age. Beloved husband of Karen for 30 years. Loving father of Shawn Callender, Dawn and Karalea Williams. Dearest grandfather of Monica, Raeanne, Jazmynne, Lindsey, Mark II and Rieley. Also survived by his brother Gary LaCross; sisters Lavera Boward, Kathy Vansickle and Euphamia Coats; and several nieces and nephews. Paul was an avid hunter and fisherman.

ROTH, MARGARET LaVELLE

ROTH, MARGARET LaVELLE, of Clarkston, on December 24, 2004. She is survived by her husband, Daniel Roth; her sons, Edwin (Gretchen) Adler of Lk. Angelus and Robert (Peggy) Roth of Clarkston; grandchildren, Tara, Chelsey & Jordan Roth; and her sister, Ann (Lorn)Hayes of Waterford. Preceded in death by her son, David Roth; her sisters, Willie May Smith, Clyde Schaver, Mayme Palmateer, and her brothers Charles, Wendel, and Harry Lehman. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Roth founded the Food Town grocery stores in 1944, which grew to include stores in Pontiac, Waterford, Oxford, Hartland, Highland and Clarkston. She was a former member of the Central United Methodist Church in Waterford and a current member of the Clarkston United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the O.E.S., Joseph C. Bird Chapter, and the Waterford American Business Women's Assoc. where she was Woman of the Year in 1990. Funeral Service Tuesday, December 28, 2004, 11 am, at Clarkston United Methodist Church, 6600 Waldon Rd., Clarkston. Interment following at Ottawa Park cemetery, also in Clarkston. Family will receive friends at COATS FUNERAL HOME, Waterford, Monday 3 - 5 & 7 - 9 and also at church Tuesday 10 - 11 am. Memorials to the Independence Twp. Library, 6495 Clarkston Rd., Clarkston 48346 or to the Bertha Roth Music Fndn., c/o Evola Music, 2184 S. Telegragh, Bloomfield Hills 48302.

Mary Harteker, 97

Mary Harteker, 97, of Wolverine, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000 at Grayling Nursing Centre. Mass of the Resurrection will be held Wednesday, Aug. 16 at 1 p.m. at the Cross in the Woods Catholic Church in Indian River. Burial will be in Silver Lake cemetery in Wolverine. The family suggests memorials to the Cross In The Woods or Wolverine Senior Citizens Center. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lintz Funeral Home in Indian River.

John (Jack) Crahan

John (Jack) Crahan died at his home in Napoleon, Ohio July 16, 2000.
The family suggest memorials be made to Sacred Heart Church.
A memorial service was held in Napoleon, Ohio on July 18 and Mullett Lake on Aug. 7, 2000.

Kathleen S. Babcock, 58

Kathleen S. Babcock, 58, of Wolverine, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000 at her home.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 19 at 2 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Vanderbilt.
Arrangements were handled by the Lintz Funeral Home in Indian River.

Walter W. Lipski, 89

Walter W. Lipski, 89, of Cheboygan, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, at the home of his stepdaughter. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on Aug. 6, 1911, the son of Joseph and Leocadia (Klimowicz) Lipski. He was employed as a purchasing agent for an electrical company in the Detroit area for many years. He was a member of the Electrical Workers Union in Detroit. Walter was preceded by his first wife Stella in 1984. He then married Irene Schings in 1985. She also preceded him in death in 1998. He was the last of his family, and was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. Survivors include his stepchildren Donald (Judy) Schings of Florida, George Schings of Sterling Heights, Joseph (Janie) Schings of Florida and Martha (Raymond) Alexander of Cheboygan. He also leaves six stepgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Cremation services have been provided by the Christian Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Mt. Olivet cemetery in Detroit on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000 at 2 p.m. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to make them to Hospice of the Straits or to The Sand Road Seniors Center. Envelopes for this purpose are available at the Christian Funeral Home.

Foster H. Mullins, 73

Foster H. Mullins, 73, of Onaway died Oct. 16, 2000 at his residence. Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Chagnon Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Pastor Denver DeKeyser will officiate and interment will be in Hillcrest cemetery, Onaway.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Michigan.

Blanche M. Winters, 84.

Blanche M. Winters, 84, of Carp Lake died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000 at Bortz Health Care Center in Petoskey. Mrs. Winters was born Oct. 4, 1916 in Carp Lake. She married Lewis Winters in 1933 and he preceded her in death in 1997. Mrs. Winters enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and the great outdoors. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by three daughters Orthella Marshall of Carp Lake, D. Jean LaCost of Carp Lake and Carol Girardian of Carp Lake, three sons: Lewis Winters Sr. of Petoskey, Herbert Winters of Elba, Ala. and Robert Winters of Carp Lake and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One sister preceded her in death, Violet Kaufman of Petoskey. Two brothers preceded her in death Henry and Elmer Weatherwax. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements were made by the Nordman Funeral Home..

Tracy Myers, 71.

Tracy Myers, 71, of Carp Lake died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000.
Visitation will be Tuesday morning at the Christian Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. .

Frank B. Kwiatkowski, 81, of Cheboygan passed away Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000 at the Cheboygan Health Care Center.

Howard L. Carney, 72

Howard L. Carney, 72 years old of Cheboygan, passed away at his home on Friday, Dec. 1, 2000. He was born in Cheboygan on June 5, 1928, the son of Harry and Bernadette (DeMara) Carney. He married Donetta Harrington at St. Mary's Church on Feb. 27, 1954. He owned and operated a scrap metal and salvage yard for many years in Cheboygan. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1282, and was a Golden Eagle. Survivors include his wife Donetta and his children Wendy (Dennis) Sullivan of Homer Alaska, Bernadette Brown (and friend Rick Carson) of Cheboygan, Christopher Carney of Cheboygan, Ronald Carney (and friend Vanessa) of Cheboygan, Carla (Bruce) Kresslien of Manitowac, Wis., Amy (Mark) Jarosz of Wixom, Joseph Carney of Cheboygan and Jennifer (Guy) Jenne of Cheboygan. He also leaves 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren as well as his brothers Gerald (Mary) Carney, Joseph (Sue) Carney and Don Carney all of Cheboygan and his sisters Teresa (Jim) Beach of Hixon, Tenn., and Delores Carney of Cheboygan. He was preceded in death by his son Mitchell Carney in 1961, his great-grandson William Hollopeter, as well as his brother Eugene and his sister Marion. Visitation will be held at the Christian Funeral Home today from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m. There will be a rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. this evening at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at the Christian Funeral Home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Mt. Calvary cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to his family or to Hospice of the Straits.

Christine J. Brandt, 93

Christine J. Brandt, 93, of Cheboygan, passed away at Larson Hall on Nov. 30, 2000. She was born in Frontenac, Kan. on April 1, 1907, the daughter of Modest and Barbara (Gesslein) LaForte. She married Fred Brandt Sr. in Detroit on Jan. 30, 1932. They came to Cheboygan in 1953, where they were both employed with the Department of Natural Resources. At that time they also owned and operated the Aloha Store at Aloha State Park until 1959. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred on Jan. 18, 1986. She was the oldest of her family and was also preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son Fred (Eileen) Brandt of Cheboygan, and her daughters Donna Pulford of Mesa, Ariz., Carol Ann Klein of Westland and Susan Brandt of Cheboygan. She also leaves 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, as well as her brother Russell (Vi) LaForte of Sturgis. Visitation was held at the Christian Funeral Home on Saturday and Sunday. There was a wake service at the funeral home Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. The funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today at St. Mary/St. Charles Church at 10 a.m. Burial will take place at St. Francis cemetery in Alverno. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to remember Bishop Baraga School or the Larson Hall Activity Fund.
