JACKSON LEE GIBBS
"Geeter"

Blissfield, MI

Jackson Lee Gibbs, 16 years of age, passed away into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday evening, September 19, 2007. Jackson was embraced at Heaven's gate by his Aunt Sue Ann Webb, Uncle Teri Gibbs, and cousins Tanner Wade and Zachary Vasher.

Jackson was born in Tecumseh, Michigan, Friday, May 17, 1991 the son of Tracy Lee and Tracy (Vasher) Gibbs. Jackson lived most of his life in Lenawee County and attended grade school at Britton-Macon.

Surviving besides his mom and dad are his siblings - brothers Gregory and his fiancé Becca and Cody and sisters Kaitlyn and Jessica, his grandparents, Don and JoAnn Vasher and Jack and Nancy Gibbs, great grandmother, Julia Vasher, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Jackson belonged to a large and loving family.

Jackson or "Geeter" to his family and friends was quite the kid. Not only was he brave, but he was smart and funny keeping everyone entertained, never complaining about anything. The highlight of Jackson's life was his trip to Hollywood, CA with his family to meet and have dinner with his idol, Robert Englund or "Freddie Kruger." This was all made possible through the Kids Wish Foundation. Jackson was a big fan of horror movies, liking all the scary stuff.

He was preceded in death by his Aunt Sue Ann, Uncle Teri and cousins Tanner and Zachary.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Sunday, September 23, 2007 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Chaplain Roger Papenhagen officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgeway cemetery, Ridgeway.

Visitation will be 4 - 8 P. M. Saturday, September 22, 2007 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

Myrtle Martha Follas

Adrian, MI

Myrtle Martha Follas. age 83, passed away September 15, 2007.

Myrtle was born January 1, 1924 in Riga, Michigan to Louis and Chloe (Becker) Miller. On December 2, 1947 she married Otto (Jack) Follas in Covington, KY. He preceded her in death.

Myrtle worked at the Rainbow and Big Boy Restaurants in Adrian and the Cherry Nook in Palmyra.

She was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, the Maple City Swingers, and the Bachelorettes. She attended both the Blissfield and Adrian Senior centers.

Myrtle is survived by a daughter Bonnie (Jack) Hartnell of Bethel Park, Pa; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 P. M. Monday, October 1, 2007 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.

Burial will follow in Riga cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00 - 2:00 P. M. Monday (one hour prior to service) at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.

Helen Zambeck

Helen Zambeck, age 89, of Adrian, passed away September 24, 2007.

Helen was born April 2, 1918 in Detroit, Michigan.

Beloved wife of Arthur (deceased), loving and loved mother of Arthur (Alice), Paul and Thomas (Denise).

Grandmother to Tony, Michael, Debbie, Brandie and Tom.

Great grandmother of 9 Originally from the Metropolitan Detroit area, Helen was a resident at Tendercare of Adrian where the conscientious and caring staff made her final years pleasant and comfortable. Helen will be missed and remembered.

A memorial service will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, September 29, 2007 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home. 2959 N. Adrian Hwy (M-52), Adrian, MI.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Great Lakes Hospice Foundation (Adrian) or to the Alzheimer's Association of Michigan.

ESTHER MARIE ROE

Adrian, MI

Esther Marie Roe, 90, of Bickford Cottage of Midland went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 28, 2007. In October 2006, she moved to Midland from Adrian, Michigan, to be with her son, James Roe. Esther was born May 18, 1917 in Dover Township, Michigan, daughter of Earl P. and Lucy (Townsend) Hutchison. She was the youngest of seven children. Esther graduated from Clayton High School, Lenawee County Normal, Adrian College with a bachelor of arts degree and Siena Heights College with a master of arts degree. She also completed 15 credits post M. A. She taught all levels in the elementary school and retired from Adrian Public Schools in 1979. She thoroughly enjoyed teaching, learning and expanded her knowledge in all areas. She married Furman Roe on September 30, 1940 at the Moody Bible Church in Chicago. He survives her. She was an active member of the Clayton Bible Church where she taught Sunday School and enjoyed many Bible Studies. While in Midland she participated in Community Bible Study.

Esther is also survived by her loving children, (Rebecca) Jean Brenner and husband Larry of Adrian, James Roe and wife Barbara of Midland and Lee Roe and wife Katie Of Ellenburg, Washington; beloved grandchildren Mike Jon, David and Steve Brenner, Eric Roe and Cindi (Roe) Hautekeete, and Rachel and Jessika Roe; great grandchildren Angie, Jonathan, Derek, Bailey, Katelyn, Kelcy, Alec, Adam, Rylei, Robert, James and Ellie; and great great grandchildren Kaleigh and Jeremy; cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Ina Tiede, Devera Hutchison, John Milton Hutchison, Myron Hutchison, Luena DeLine and Bernice Kamke.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday afternoon, October 2, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Clayton Bible Church in Clayton, Michigan with Bickford Cottage Chaplain Mitzi Nimmo officiating. A private family graveside committal service will take place at the North Dover cemetery prior to the memorial service.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry, P. O. Box 908, Bellmawr, N. J. 08099 or The Open Door, 2953 S. Pullman Street, Santa Ana, CA 92705. The family wishes to thank the staff of Bickford Cottage for their kindnesses and love shown to our Mom and Grandma over the past ten months. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.

Shane M. Glisson

ROCK SPRINGS, WY

Shane M. Glisson, age 33, of Rock Springs, WY, formerly of Adrian, MI, died Sept. 26, 2007 at home.

He was born August 14, 1974.

Shane is survived by his wife Tracey; daughter, Emmalayne; step-son, Kristopher; parents, Jim and Stephanie Glisson of Adrian, and Heidi and Chuck McGown of Jackson; brother, Shawn (Erica) Glisson; 5 sisters, Rochelle (Dan) Forche, Kellie (Jay) Niese, Jenna (Mauro) Campos, Lisa (Todd) Henshaw, and Jennifer Risinger; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Visitation will be take place Friday, October 5, 2007 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home. Adrian from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM; followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM officiated by Rev. Dallas Cantu.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his children Emmalayne & Kristopher: c/o their mother Tracy.

Mary Alta DeMoss

Tecumseh, MI

Mary A. DeMoss, age 81, of Tecumseh, passed away September 30, 2007, Mary was born January 18, 1926 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Leonard and Gloral Nissen. On September 17, 1946, she married Warren W. DeMoss in Davenport, Iowa. She lived in the Tecumseh area since 1960 and retired from Ann Arbor Scientific Company.

Mary is survived by one son, Leonard DeMoss of Longmont, CO, son-in-law Brad Fletcher of Howell, five grandchildren, Robert, Scott, Matt, Julie and Kelly and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Rev. Fr. Daniel Wheeler officiating.

Burial will follow in Brookside cemetery. Visitation will be 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 P. M. Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

She was preceded in death by her husband Warren, parents, a daughter Judy Fletcher and a brother Jack Nissen..

Howard R. Miller

Blissfield, MI

Howard R. Miller, age 87, of Blissfield, passed away October 1, 2007 at Lake Park, Sylvania.

Howard was born June 20, 1920, in Deerfield the son of Lynn and Myrtle Miller. On January 31, 1943, he married Blanche Suydam in Wellsville. She preceded him in death on March 5, 2007.

He was employed at the Tecumseh Products for thirty eight years.

Howard is survived by his children David Miller of Harrison, MI, Bill Miller of Blissfield, Greg (Brenda) Miller of Blissfield, Steve ( Sallie) Miller of Blissfield, Mary (Rick) McAllister of Adrian, Kellie (Mark) Retter of Blissfield; daughters in laws Diane Miller of Adrian and Roberta Stapleton of Saline; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Besides his wife Blanche, Howard was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Harry and Harold.

According to his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no services.

Arrangements were entrusted to the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.

Alan L. Buskirk

BROOKLYN

Alan L. Buskirk, Sr., age 74, formerly of Brooklyn, died Oct. 1, 2007, at the Medical Care Facility of Jackson. He was born in 1933 in Jackson, MI, to Florence and LeRoy Buskirk. They both preceded him in death.

He served in the Marines during the Korean War and received three Purple Hearts.

In 1953, he married and had seven children. They survive him.

4 Sons, Dennis of Texas; John and Alan of Colorado, and Thomas (Dawn) of New Mexico.

3 Daughters, Karen (James) Pipher of Oklahoma, Julie (Thomas) Stubbins of Pittsford, MI, and Maria (Lou) Lofton of Jackson.

He has six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandaughter Sonya Heather in 2002, sister Brenda Pariseau; and a brother, William Buskirk.

He is also survived by two sisters, Beverly Jean (Gordon) Ketrlar of Florida and Carol (Lou) Nutt of Texas; a brother James (Debra) Buskirk of Warren, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private family services and viewing were held were held Oct. 4, 2007 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian. Cremation followed the funeral service.

Inocencia Banda

Adrian, MI

Inocencia Banda, age 96, of Adrian, died October 2, 2007 at her daughter's home in Blissfield, MI.

She was born December 28, 1910 in Parras, Coahuilla, Mexico the daughter of Inez and Juanita (Ranjel) Jimenez.

Funeral sevices were held Wedneday October 3, 2007 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, MI, with Rev. Adrian Lioi officiating. Interement followed at Oakwood cemetery, Adrian.

Visitation was held Tuesday October 2, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
