Nancy Avaline Williams
Age 67, of Jackson, formerly of Adrian, went to be with the Lord on, September 29, 2008.
She was born May 5, 1941, in Hamilton, AL, the daughter of Hubert & Nancy (Rayburn) Shotts.
On September 1, 1956, she married Talmage "Gene" Williams in Fulton, MS. He survives.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Adrian.
In addition to her husband Gene, she is survived by her children; Elizabeth Williams (Jan Long), Greg (Laurie) Williams, Brandon (Karen) Williams, three grandchildren, Kylie, Tyler and Aiden Williams, her sister, Maxine Shotts, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Charles Andrel Shotts.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 3, 2008, at Church of Christ in Adrian, with Minister Timothy J. Dunn officiating.
Burial will follow in Oakwood cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM & 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian and also on Friday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

Donald Buchheimer, 69, of Navarre, FL, formerly of Tecumseh, passed away, October 4, 2008. Cremation has taken place.
Paul Billan, Jr.
Age 79, of Coldwater, passed away October 5, 2008.
Paul was born May 14, 1929 in Delta, Ohio the son of Paul and Petrina (Kompara) Billan, Sr.
On November 16, 1968 he married Mary Ann Kukec in Toledo, Ohio.
She survives. He was a graduate of Waite High School in Toledo.
Paul was honorably discharged from the U. S. Army serving four years during the Korean War.
After 31 years of service, Paul retired January 1, 1981 as Quality Control Supervisor for Libby Owens Ford. Rossford, OH.
Paul was a member of the Toledo American Legion.
Besides his wife, Mary Ann; Paul is survived by his children, Michael Kovacik of Toledo, OH, Connie (Mark) Valiton of Oakland, Maryland, and Cynthia (Charles) Aschemeier of Onsted, MI; grandchildren, Jason (Katie) Sparks, Shannon (Scott) Glendon, Mark E. Valiton and Eric (April) Aschemeier and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Schulte and granddaughter, Melissa Valiton.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and private family services will take place at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Branch County Hospice Service, 300 E. Chicago St., Coldwater, MI 49036.

Max W. Skinner
Age 89, of Tecumseh, passed away October 24, 2008.
Max was born September 6, 1919 in Tecumseh, MI the son of Verdi R. and Anna Louis (Seitz) Skinner.
On September 25, 1948, he married Emily J. Todd in Napoleon, Ohio.
Emily preceded him in death on January 2, 2000.
Max was a Tecumseh High School graduate. He retired on December 31, 1983 from Tecumseh Products after 42 years of service.
Max was a member of the Tecumseh Masonic Lodge and served as Worshipful Master.
He was a member of the Tecumseh United Methodist Church and the Hitch Up and Go and the Plum Nuts Camping Clubs.
Max was a devoted husband and father.
He is survived by five sons; Retired Col. Richard (Maryann) Skinner of Vienna, VA, Reed (Joanne) Skinner of Canton, Randy (Mary Pavelka) Skinner of Tipton, Rory (Hayley) Skinner of Columbus, MI and Robin (Dawn) Skinner of Tecumseh, seven grandchildren; Sean (Ellen), Sarah, Jane, Sheila, Corinne, Luke and Grace Skinner; brother, Darrell Skinner of FL; sister, Iota Bufford of AZ Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Rev. David McKinstry officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside cemetery.
Visitation will be 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 P. M. Monday, October 27, 2008 and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
A Masonic Memorial service will be conducted 7:00 P. M. Monday, October 27, 2008 at the funeral home by the Tecumseh Masonic Lodge F&AM #69.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Tecumseh Masonic Association, Great Lakes Hospice or Hidden Lake Gardens.

Beloved father of Desiree Marie Golembiewski, Guardian to Sebastian Golembieski, Daphne Golembieski, and Myzcka Golembieski; Brother to Virginia (George) North, Marlene (Rodney) McGraw, and Julia Golembiewski; preceded in death by brothers, Arthur Golembieski, Alfred Golembiewski and sister-in-law, Marion Golembiewski; also surviving, members of the Illustrious Coffee Clutch: George North and Terry Alpaugh.
Retired Executive Director of the Community Action Agency; Humble Servant to the community of Adrian for 30 years, and friend to all creatures both great and small.
Funeral service scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Sunday Nov. 16, 2008 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, with Rev. Haju Murray of Zen Buddhist Temple, Ann Arbor, officiating.
Visitation scheduled for Saturday Nov. 15, 2008 from 4-8 p.m. at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.

Esther Hudson, 96, of Adrian, passed away, October 27, 2008 at Lenawee Medical Care Facility.
Burial has taken place in Oakgove cemetery, Manchester, MI.
Robert "Bob" Sluder
Age 82, of Adrian, passed away, October 28, 2008 at Bixby Medical Center.
He was born January 15, 1926, in Avery Co., NC, the son of Sherman & Millie (Osburn) Sluder. On March 20, 1948, he married Betty Griewahn, she survives.
He was retired from Simplex Industries in Adrian. Bob served his country in South Pacific in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
He and Betty enjoyed a 60 year marriage and Bob especially loved working in his garden and mowing his yard.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Rebekah (Becky) Largin of Adrian and Wendy Comstock of Sand Creek. His Grandchildren Robert Wilson, Michelle (Devin) Prichard, David Wilson, Anna Wilson, Brian (Jolene) Comstock Jr., and Ashlee Comstock. His Great Grandchildren Alexander and Margeriet Prichard.
He was preceded in death by his parents and all his siblings.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, October 30, 2008, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.
Burial will follow in Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh, with Military Honors conducted by Michigan Army National Guard Funeral Honors Team.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.
Kevin B. Cremeans
Age 50, of Adrian, passed away October 29, 2008. Kevin was born February 13, 1958 in Adrian the son of Ezra and Jewell (Bates) Cremeans.
He is survived by his mother, Jewell Winters; sisters, Nora (Calvin) Morgan, Lori (Paul) Garrow; Wanda (John) Serin; and Judi (Danny) Shaver; brothers, Herman (Lynette) Cremeans and Howard (Judy) Cremeans and many nieces and nephews.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Ezra; a step father, Harlan Winters; brothers Cecil and Keith Cremeans and a sister, Pamela Washington.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Age 89, of Onsted, passed away, October 29, 2008, at Mercy Hospital in Monroe, MI. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, November 3, 2008 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian with Rev. Lloyd Jewett officiating. Burial will follow in Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at J. Age 55, of Adrian, went to be with the Lord, November 4, 2008.
Larry is survived by his wife, Joyce Curtis-Sales, sister, Donna Elliott, brother Gary (Mary) Sales.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 8, 2008, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, with Rev. Chris Cadwallader officiating.

Lavaine Charles “Charley” Peck
Age 77, of Adrian, Mich., and Lakeland, Fla., died Nov. 5, 2008, at his Florida home.
He was born Dec. 27, 1930, to Wesley and Lynwood Peck in Coldwater, Mich.
He graduated from Adrian High School in 1948. He was employed at American Chain and Cable in Adrian for many years.
He later worked at the Lenawee Country Club for 10 years as a groundskeeper.
In recent years he enjoyed attending and working at the Detroit Tigers summer training camps in Lakeland, Fla.
He was also a member of the Adrian Loyal Order of Moose #34.
He was a lifelong lover of many sports and played softball, bowled and golfed in many local leagues.
He is survived by a daughter, Debra (David Howard) Blohm of Adrian; three grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is a stepson, Phil (Kim) Gray of Adrian; four stepgrandchildren; a brother, Leslie (Dorothy) Peck; niece, Janice (Larry) Heisler; and nephew, Dennis Peck.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roland.
Friends and family are invited to a time of remembrance at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at the Hidden River North Clubhouse on Beecher Street in Adrian.
