George Allen Kent, Jr., 84, of Grayling passed away on
Saturday, November 11th, 2006.
He was born in Lansing, Michigan on January 25, 1922, the son of the
late George Allen and Lelia (Futch) Kent.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years in the South Pacific and European Theater.
He retired from being Owner/Sales Agent at Standard Oil for 25 years.
He married Evelyn (Schrauben) Kent on August 14, 1948 at People's Church in East Lansing, Michigan.
Member of Grayling Masonic Lodge & Detroit Shriner Temple.
survived by his wife Evelyn of 58 years.
Daughter: Marla (Greg) Chandler of Saline, Michigan.
Son: Charles (Kathy) Kent of Hahira, Georgia.
3 Grandchildren: Andrew & Regina Chandler, Courtney Reddish
Sister: Helen (Tom) Cochran of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Visitation of family and friends will be at the Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on
Thursday November 16, 2006 at 1:00 -2:30 pm.
Funeral Service will follow at 2:30 pm.
Family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Michigan Masonic Home Charitable Foundation 1200 Wright Ave Alma, Michigan 48801.

Goldie Donaldson
November 7, 2006

Goldie Geraldine Donaldson, 83, of Grayling passed away on Tuesday November 7, 2006.
She was born on November 29, 1922 in Essex, Ontario to Gerald and Mae (Goslin) Jariett.
Goldie married Andrew Stewart Donaldson, Jr. on June 4, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan.
She moved to the Grayling area in 1972 coming from Detroit, Michigan. She was a former member of the Detroit Redford Presbyterian Church and was a member of St. Francis Eiscopal Church.
She was a member of Roscommon VFW Auxillary #4159. She mostly enjoyed being a homemaker and the
life that revolved around caring for her husband and 5 children.
She is survived by:

Douglas (Joan Neal ) of Grayling
William (Lisa) Donaldson of Roscommon
Robert Donaldson of Grayling
Daughter: Lori (Barb Harris) Donaldson of Madison, Wisconsin.
9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at St. Francis Episcopal Church on Friday November 10, 2006 at 1:00 p.m.
with Rev. Elizabeth Chace and Rev. S.L. Clapp officiating.

Helen Rodney
November 26, 2006

Helen Roberta Rodney, 83, of Grayling passed away on Sunday, November 26th, 2006.
Helen was born in Detroit, MI on December 25, 1922.
She married William Rodney who preceded her in death..
Helen spent part of life in San Francisco with her husband William. This was during the wartime era and she enjoyed the area working in a large hotel adn sitting in with the band. She then moved to Detroit, Michigan where she worked as a sales clerk in the fashion department at J.L. Hudson's. Helen enjoyed living in Florida after Detroit. This was expressed as her favorite time where she could fish and feed the birds. She moved to Grayling in the late 1980's. Helen has been blessed to be surrounded by a multitude of loving friends that she called her family which included the following: Friends at St. Francis Episcopal Church, Riverview Apartments, and Mercy Manor; Jan Bennett of Farmingotn Hills, Diane Poore of Traverse City, Judy Woodland, Carolyln Rakoczy, Bill & Lisa Donaldson, Sharon Priebe, Elizabeth Chace; Clyde, Nadine, Jessica, Miranda, and Reid Holzbauer.

Sister(s): Marjorie Monks of South Carolina.
Nieces:Margaret McClure of North Carolina,
Patricia Allen of South Carolina.
Her beloved cat, Muffin.
She was a member of St. Francis Episcopal Church Grayling, MI.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Francis Episcopal Church on Saturday December 2, 2006 at 2:00 pm , with Rev. Elizabeth Chace officiating..
For those that so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to St Francis Episcopal Church in Grayling, Michigan or the Crawford County Animal Shelter.

James Salo
October 31, 2007

Mr. James C. Salo, 61, of Grayling passed away on Wednesday, October 31st, 2007.
James was born in Detroit, MI on March 2, 1946, the son of the late Sulo Einard and Elizabeth (Niemi) Salo.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era on the USS Piedmont.
James grew up in Superior Township in the Houghton/Hancock area in the U.P. He moved to Grayling in 2004 where he has spent most of his time renovating his home and traveling downstate to spend time with his children and grandchildren.
James married his first with Dorothy in 1967, they raised their family in Clinton Twp
until she passed away in 1988.
He then married his wife Elaine Faye in 1989.
He was retired from the 3M Company since 2001.
survived by his wife Elaine.

Mrs. Leona Louise Dailey, 86, of Grayling passed away onTuesday, October 30th, 2007.
Leona was born in Lecoma, Missouri on July 8, 1921, the daughter of
the late William Robert and Victoria Louise (Lee) Elliott.
Her employment included operating a seamstress business, retail sales, and being a homemaker
She married Edward N. Dailey on December 5, 1942 in Rolla Missouri. They would have celebrated their 65th anniversary this year.
Leona was a member of the Grayling Free Methodist Church, Ladies Auxiliary,
Police and Fireman's Metropolitan Club
Leona is survived by her husband Edward of 64 years.

Son:William (Joan) Dailey of Lansing, MI.
Grandchildren: Kevin S. (Wanda) Dailey of Persia, Iowa

Edgar was born in East Detroit, Michigan on December 18, 1923, the son of the late Mayes and Pauline Jeffers.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp.
He was the husband of Florence Jeffers.

on October 31st, 2007.

Howard Moggo
October 29, 2007

Mr. Howard LeRoy Moggo, 85, of Grayling passed away on Monday, October 29th, 2007.
Howard was born in Grayling, MI on February 3, 1922,
the son of the late Frederick William and Mamie (Thurston) Moggo.
He served in the US Army Air Corp WW II, his tours of duty included India, Burma and China.
He was a member of American Legion Post #106..
He worked as a Supervisor at City of Grayling Department of Public Works for over 37 years.
Howard was married to Betty Marines Moggo for 27 years. She preceded him in death 33 years ago.
He married Emma Wilson on June 21, 1975. She preceded him in death about 10 years ago.
He is survived by :

Otto Loeffler, age 95, of Lovells, Michigan passed away on Monday
October 22, 2007. He was born in Plattenhardt, Germany on January 26, 1912.
He moved to Lovells, Michigan from Detroit and worked at Bear Archery until retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Margaret.
Son: Robert (Madeline) Loeffler of Warren, Michigan.
Daughter: Carroll "Shotz" Rankin of Gaylord, Michigan.
Grandchildren: Thomas (Kristi) Rankin of Phoenix, AZ.
