Pauline Wentworth, 89, of Dryden, died Monday, April 21, 2003.
She was born Jan. 2, 1914.
She is survived by her children, Myrna (Gilbert) Henderson of Howell and Claire Wentworth of Dryden.
Funeral services were Friday (April 25) at Dryden United Methodist Church, Dryden.

John F. Schwartz

Lapeer
John F. Schwartz, 76, of Lapeer (formerly of Macomb Township), died Monday, April 21, 2003.
He was born Dec. 13, 1926, in Grosse Pointe to Clarence Frederick and Kathleen (DeCarteret) Schwartz. He married Joan Isabel McLean on Nov. 15, 1952, in Grosse Pointe Farms.
He was a plant industry inspector for the State of Michigan Department of Agriculture, retiring in 1988. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed raising beagles, showing dogs, hunting, raising Christmas trees, horses (riding) and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Joan of Lapeer; sons, Grant (Constance) of Fenton, Eric (Kathryn) of Clifford and Kurt (Judy) of North Branch; four granddaughters and two grandsons.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
A memorial service was Friday (April 25) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. The Rev. Janusz Iwan was the celebrant. Burial was in Holy Sepulchre cemetery, Southfield.

Robert Ennis

Imlay City
Robert “Bob” Ennis, 59, of Imlay City, died Monday, April 21, 2003, at Lapeer Regional Hospital.
He was born Aug. 2, 1943. He married June Stamman.
He lived most of his life in Imlay City. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Imlay City. He was also a member of the Farm Toy Collectors. He liked fishing, flying and motorcycles.
He is survived by his wife, June; sons, Michael and his wife, and Ronald and his wife; sister, Joyce (Laverne) Ferrett of Imlay City; grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Imlay City. The Rev. Alan Casillas officiated.

Ruth Mae Klover

Attica
Ruth Mae Klover, 91, of Attica, died Monday, April 21, 2003.
She was born Sept. 12, 1911, in Rienzi, Miss., to Ben and Ella (Sloan) Prichard. She married Walter Klover.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her daughter, Louise Andersen (special friend, Paul Fike); son, David (Gail) Klover; grandchildren, John (friend, Tammy) Anderson, David Klover, John Klover, Mathew Klover, Mary Klover and Christine Klover; seven great-grandchildren, three sisters and one brother.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dewey Jarrett; second husband, Walter Klover; and parents.

Funeral services were Thursday (April 24) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Burial was in Flint Memorial, Flint.

Roy E. Roberts

Lapeer
Roy E. Roberts, 82, of Lapeer, died Sunday, April 20, 2003.
He was born Oct. 1, 1920, in Lapeer to Wilbur and Bessie (Gilman) Roberts. He married Opal Mellish on Feb. 1, 1946, in Lapeer.
He graduated from Lapeer High School with the class of 1941. He served in the Army during World War II. He worked in the maintenance department of Lapeer Community Schools for 37 years, retiring in 1982. He attended the Alzheimers Support Group in Lapeer and the Lapeer Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed the dinners with the Retired Lapeer Community School Employees, and eating at Arby’s every night. He and Opal were great campers.
He is survived by his wife, Opal; son, Stephen (Patricia) of Lapeer; daughter, Roxanne (David) Wermuth of Lapeer; and grandchildren, Scott of Lapeer, Eric of Lapeer, Stephanie (Don) Corneal of Fla., and Sara (Brandon) Huffman of Lapeer.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Corda; and parents, Wilbur and Bessie (Gilman) Roberts.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, American Diabetes Association or the Gideons.
Funeral services were Wednesday (April 23) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. The Rev. David Wermuth officiated. Burial was in Mount Hope cemetery, Lapeer.

Lloyd Childers

Lloyd “Mick” Childers, 48, of Lapeer, died Sunday, April 20, 2003.
He was born Sept. 26, 1954, in Almont to William and Alma (Cundiff) Childers.
He was a truck driver for the Lapeer County Road Commission for 20 years. He loved golfing, riding his motorcycle and was an avid hunter. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.He was a lifetime resident of Lapeer.
He is survived by his children, Tracey (Andrew) Allen of North Branch and Shannon (Kenneth) Walter of Mayville; grandchildren, Cody Joseph Allen and Emily Kay Allen; parents, William and Alma (Cundiff) Childers of Lapeer; siblings, William “Junior” Childers of Marlette, Jack (Kim) Childers of Tennessee and Chris (Tom) Harrington of Mount Morris; close friend, Debbie Childers of Attica; two nieces, two nephews, special aunt and uncle, Diane and Joe Childers of Lapeer; and many special friends and co-workers.
Funeral services were Wednesday (April 23) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. The Rev. Art Crawford officiated. Burial was in Stiles cemetery, Mayfield Township.

Boleslaw Dachnowski

Sterling Heights
Boleslaw “Bill” Dachnowski, 86, of Sterling Heights (formerly of Lapeer, Ossineke and Hamtramck), died Sunday, April 20, 2003.
He was born Aug. 4, 1916, in Detroit to Alex and Rose (Bukowski) Dachnowski. He married Olga J. Patla.
He served in the Navy during World War II. He worked for Chrysler Corp. and the City of Hamtramck for 18 years. He was a Fourth Degree Past Color Guard of the Knights of Columbus, Lapeer Council 1987. He was an avid bowler, a wood crafter, and played cards (particularly pinochle).
He is survived by his children, Gerald W. (Eileen) Dachnowski of Warren, Judy (Craig) Mirowski of Greenwood, Ind., and Joann (Paul) Grochowski of Sterling Heights; grandchildren, Lynette, Brenda, Bryan, John, Gary and Jim; and great grandchildren, Bradley, Mathhew Bryan, Matthew David, Taylor, Lauren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Olga Dachnowski; parents; and brother, Roman Dachnowski.
