Lapeer

Debra "Debbie" Allison, 40, of Lapeer (formerly of Attica), died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003.
She was born Aug. 30, 1962, in Mount Clemens to Donald and Betty (Daniels) Vohs.She married Paul Allison on Sept. 18, 1982, in Lapeer at Trinity United Methodist Church.
She graduated from Imlay City High School in 1980. She worked for Kroger in Lapeer for over 10 years. Most recently, she was the U-Scan cashier at Kroger. She was a loving mother, wife, sister and daughter.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Allison of Lapeer; son, David (Krista Kondrat) Allison of Lapeer; parents, Donald and Betty Vohs of St. Helen (formerly of Attica); siblings, Donnie (Darlene) Vohs of Roscommon and Beth (Rick) Horton of Imlay City; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Darlene (Dick) West of Lapeer; parents-in-law, Paul Sr. and Maxine Allison of Lapeer; nieces and nephews, Garrett Horton, Benjamin Horton, Justin Marsh, Steven West and Julie (Rick) Thomson; and great-nephew, Blake Thomson.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Grant and Ethel Daniels.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Funeral services were Wednesday (Jan. 15) at Grace Episcopal Church, Lapeer. The Rev. Steve Dewey officiated. Burial was in Mount Hope cemetery, Lapeer.

Robert F. Young
Died: Saturday, January 11, 2003
Age: 75

Almont

Robert F. "Bump" Young, 75, of Almont died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at home, following a lengthy illness.
He married Pauline Stoin on Aug. 23, 1950, in Almont.
He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from General Motors in 1976 after 30 years of service and then operated a small engine repair service in Almont for 20 years. He loved playing and watching golf, bowling and horseshoes.
He is survived by his children, Allen (Marsha) of Oxford, Calvin (Linda) of Rochester, Sally (Buck) Smith of Columbiaville and Jeff (Kathleen) of Port Angelus, Wash.; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and long time companion, Gert Cole.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline in 1966.
Funeral services were Tuesday (Jan. 14) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Almont. The Rev. Roger Keur of the Country Christian Church, Columbiaville, officiated. Burial was in West Berlin cemetery, Allenton.

Virginia Eleanor Stables
Died: Saturday, January 11, 2003
Age: 84

Livonia

Virginia Eleanor Stables, 84, of Livonia (formerly of Imlay City), died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at St. Mary's Hospital in Livonia.
She was born March 26, 1918 in Detroit. She married James Edward Stables on Aug. 6, 1949, in Traverse City.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Almont First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, James Stables of Livonia; sons, Herb Stables of Lum, Jim ( Carol) Stables of Davison and Paul Stables of Warren; daughters, Janet (Peter) LaRose of Canton, Hazel Stables of Davison and Joyce Dzieminski of Milwaukee, Wis.; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, brother, Herb (Lillian) Ellison of Denver, Colo.; and sister, Lois Murphy of Commerce Township.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter, Ruth Irene Stables; and sisters, Norma Cole and Ruth Woods.
Visitation was Wednesday (Jan. 15) at the First Baptist Church, Almont. Funeral services were Wednesday at the church. The Rev. James Byrd officiated. Burial was in Dawn Memorial cemetery, Lapeer.

Connie Villalpando
Died: Thursday, January 09, 2003
Age: 74

Attica

Connie Villalpando, 74, of Attica, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, at Genesys Medical Center, Grand Blanc.
She was born Dec. 8, 1928, in San Antonio, Texas, to George and Celia (Correa) Sanchez. She married Nicholas P. Villalpando on March 15, 1947, in Capac.
She lived in the Attica area for 13 years and previously lived in the Imlay City and Capac areas for over 50 years. She had been employed as a prep cook at Nacho's Restaurant in Imlay City for 19 years and also at ITT-Baylock in Leonard for seven years. She was a member of the Hispanic Service Center, Hispanic Baptist Association of Michigan and First Latin American Baptist Church, where she had served as a deaconess.
She is survived by her sons, Joe (Cathy) Villalpando of Imlay City and David (Delores) Villalpando of Lake Orion; daughters, Sally (Guile) Atkinson of Imlay City, Alice (Ron) Kersten of Lapeer, Vickie (Tom) Samolej of Casco Township, Cindy (Emmett) Davis of Rochester Hills, Olivia (Mark) Pelton of Riley Center, Irene (Nacho) Ramirez of Imlay City, Elizabeth (Kenneth) Morris of Lapeer and Virginia Villalpando of Attica; 24 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and cousins, Bill (Carol) Olivo of Owosso, John (Janet) Olivo of Lapeer, Sixto Olivo of Burton and Consuelo (Charlie) Roche of Pensicola, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas on Dec. 14, 1999; sister, Mary Louisa Valdez; and cousins, Robert Olivo and Jesse Olivo.
Funeral services were Monday (Jan. 13) at the First Latin American Baptist Church, Imlay City. The Rev. Angel Ojeda officiated. Burial was in Imlay Township cemetery.

Margaret Helen Couture
Died: Thursday, January 09, 2003
Age: 71

Lapeer

Margaret Helen Couture, 71, of Lapeer (formerly of Flint), died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003.
She was born June 20, 1931, in Flint to Basil and Meryl (Sibilski) O'Leary. She married Ray G. Coutureon April 20, 1973. in Flint .
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Her faith was a very important part of her life. She had been a waitress.
She is survived by her husband, Ray Couture of Lapeer; siblings, Irene Petty of Flint, Patsy Cook of Davison, Kathleen McLaughlin of Pellston and William O'Leary of Flint; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Ione.
Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Building Fund, Church Parish or Mass cards.
Funeral services were Saturday (Jan. 11) at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lapeer. Burial was in Mount Loretto cemetery.

Joyce E. Waterloo
Died: Wednesday, January 08, 2003
Age: 77

Lapeer

Joyce E. Waterloo, 77, of Lapeer, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003, at home with her family at her side.
She was born June 20, 1925, in Flint to Harold and Marguerite (Adams) Teachout. She married Eldon "Bud" Waterloo in January, 1947, at Grace Episcopal Church, Lapeer.
She graduated from Hurley Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. She and her husband ran Waterloo Oil Co. for 40 years.
She is survived by her children, Diane (Richard) Waterloo-Banks of Santa Barbara, Calif., Gail (John) Cosens of Lapeer, Judy (Ronald) Boyne of Terre Haute, Ind., Jan (John) Stone of Rochester Hills and David (friend, Ann Snoblen) Waterloo of Lapeer; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon "Bud" Waterloo in 1996; parents, Harold and Marguerite (Adams) Teachout; and brother, Richard Teachout.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lapeer Area Hospice.
A private memorial service has been planned. The Rev. Canon Yung-Hsuan Chou will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery, Lapeer.

Theron w. Reamer
Died: Wednesday, January 08, 2003

Theron W. Reamer, 83, of North Branch, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003, at the Fenton Extended Care Facility.
He was born Jan. 20, 1919, in Lapeer to Frank and Bessie (Forbush) Reamer.
He loved working with wood and enjoyed his John Deere Tractors. He was a member of the 2 Cycle Club (Steam Engine Club), a former member of the Script Model A Club, and a former Elba Township trustee. He was also a member of the International Operating, Engineers local.
He is survived by his children, Shirley (Gary) Miles of Davison, Darlene (Ernie) Uhlbeck of Muskegon, Frank (Wendy)of Burton, John of Columbiaville, Donna (David) White of North Branch and Lee (Keith) Collins of Columbiaville; 21 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and brothers, Elwin (Zola) of Lapeer and Earl (Joyce) of Lapeer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; daughter, Sharon Mayher; and grandson, Allen J. Mayher.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Kidney Foundation.
Funeral services were Saturday (Jan. 11) at Baird-Newton Funeral Home, Lapeer. The Rev. Tom Wachterhauser officiated. Burial was in Mount Hope cemetery, Lapeer.

Madeline V. Locklin
Died: Wednesday, January 08, 2003
Age: 81

North Branch

Madeline V. Locklin, 81, of North Branch, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003, at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility in Mayfield Township.
She was born June 9, 1921, in Deerfield Township to Perry and Victoria (Case) Fricke. She married Dwyane Locklin on Dec. 31, 1937, in Imlay City.
She was a lifelong resident in North Branch and of the North Branch Eastern Star Chapter 149. She enjoyed bowling and her grandchildren were a bright spot in her life.
She is survived by her daughters, Dian (Robert) Stuewer of North Branch, Darla (Charles) Beadle of Clifford and Denise (Gordon) Farrington of Lapeer; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, brother, Gale (Betty) Fricke of Burton; sisters-in-law, Grace Fricke of North Branch, Nancy Fricke of North Branch, Lucille Fricke of North Branch, Alta Fricke of Florida and Dorothy (Douglas) Fansler of Lapeer; brother-in-law, Lester Locklin of North Branch; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwyane Locklin in 1988; son, Dennis LaWayne; seven brothers and five sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Heartland Hospice.
Funeral services were Saturday (Jan. 11) at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. The Rev. Roger Keur officiated. Burial was in Westlawn cemetery, North Branch.
