Crystal Lake, Ill.

Irvin J. Tindall, 57, of Crystal Lake (formerly of Michigan), died July 17, 2002 at Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry, Ill.
He was born Aug. 8, 1944, in Ypsilanti, to Donald and Evelyn (Haack) Tindall.
He had been employed as a heating air conditioning technician prior to becoming disabled following an auto accident in 1993.
He is survived by his sons, Mark Tindall of Michigan and Scott Tindall of Georgia; daughters, Randi and Reva Griskenas of Crystal Lake; brothers, Tom (Juanita) Tindall of Florida, Curly Tindall of Florida, Patrick (Ella) Tindall of Crystal Lake and Lyle Tindall and Don Tindall, both of Michigan; sisters, Thelma (Polk) Davis of Kentucky, Faye (Grant) Sexton of Arizona and Dorothy Cantrell of Ohio; close friends, Diane (Steve) Seymour of Wonder Lake and Melinda Griskenas of Crystal Lake; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Funeral services were Tuesday (July 23, 2002) at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home, North Branch. The Rev. Wayne Ferrigan officiated. Burial was in Maple Grove cemetery, North Branch.

Dorothy Williams
Died: Wednesday, July 17, 2002
Age: 77

Lapeer

Dorothy Williams, 77, of Lapeer, died Wednesday (July 17, 2002).
She was born April 7, 1925, in Bay City, to Stephen and Wanda (Bruziewski) Klida. She married Donald Williams in Pontiac on Dec. 9, 1952.
She was a homemaker who raised five children. She will be sadly missed by her loving family.
She is survived by her husband, Donald of Lapeer; daughters, Deborah Williams of Imlay City, Denise (Timm) Striggow of Fenton and Dianne Williams of Lapeer; sons, Douglas (Debbie) Williams of Attica and David (Kim) Williams of Mount Pleasant; grandchildren, Aryelle, Heather, Kristi, Alaina, Erica, Ashley, Mark, Bradley and Jill; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Bernard and Jerome Klida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and step-son, Donald Williams.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
A memorial gathering was Saturday (July 20, 2002) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Cremation has taken place.

Robert D. Green
Died: Wednesday, July 17, 2002
Age: 76

Davison

Robert D. Green, 76, of Davison, died Wednesday (July 17, 2002) at Genesys Hospice Care Center, Goodrich. He was born Dec. 30, 1925, in Royal Oak, to Harry and Agnes (Bennet) Green. He married Mildred L. Ingamells on June 26, 1947.
He was a loving husband and father. He served in the Army's 45th Division during World War II. He was employed at General Motors Parts Division for 38 years, retiring in 1983, and was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 659.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred; son, Roger (friend, Beth Sharp) Green; daughters, Diane (Ken) Burleson, Kathleen (Mark) Munger and Patricia Green; son, Harry Green; grandchildren, Andrew, Paul and Peter Munger and Matthew Burleson; three great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Brian Burleson; and brothers, Kenneth and Herbert Green.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
Funeral services were Sunday (July 21, 2002) at Allen Funeral Home. The Rev. P. Thomas Wachterhauser officiated. Burial was in Davison cemetery with military graveside services.

William Gene Crary
Died: Tuesday, July 16, 2002
Age: 78

Imlay City

William Gene Crary, 78, of Imlay City, died Tuesday (July 16, 2002) at Pine Wood Manor Adult Foster Care, Lapeer.
He was born Oct. 13, 1923, in Chariton County, Mo. He married Lois Eileen Moyer in Kansas City, Mo. on Oct. 20, 1946.
He was employed by General Motors since 1951 as a senior product engineer, retiring in 1986 from Fisher Body's G.M. Tech Center. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Rochester, the Elf Khurafeh Templeand the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge.
He is survived by Lois Crary of Imlay City; daughter, Carol Coonley of Warrensburg, Mo.; son, Chris (Gayle) Crary of Imlay City; grandchildren, Dr. Kimberly Crary, Scott Crary, Anna Crary and Chard Crary.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Dr. Patrick Coonley.
Funeral services were Thursday (July 18, 2002) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Imlay City. The Rev. Kevin Harbin officiated. Burial services were Saturday in Fasken cemetery, Carthage, Mo.

Charles Richard Morrison
Died: Monday, July 15, 2002
Age: 76

Hadley

Charles Richard Morrison, 76, of Hadley, died Monday (July 15, 2002) at Genesys Hospice Care Center, Goodrich.
He was born Aug. 7, 1925, in Detroit, to Charles and Agnes Morrison. He married Olga Szczerbacki on Nov. 2, 1945.
He served in the Navy and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4087, U.S.S. Maddox Association and a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He enjoyed working on his 1931 Ford, playing senior bingo and caring for stray animals.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Olga; children, Donna (Ralph) Burley, Dwayne (Barbara) Morrison, Richard (Gail) Morrison, Cheryl (Al) Bingham, Kenneth Morrison, Sandra Morrison, John (JoAnn) Morrison, Michele Kashani, Marc Morrison and George Morrison; grandchildren, Renee, Robert, Rebecca, Raymond, Rosalynn, Randall, Ryan and Russel Burley, Brian Dean, Ann Marie Morrison, Tanya, Richard Steven and Anita Morrison, Joseph, Rochele, Heather, Josh Morrison, Nicole Kashani, Jonathon and Alexander White, and Meghan and Casey McNeil; 15 great-grandchildren; friends from the McDonald's Bingo Group; Don White; Connie Bannister; and loving pet, Peppy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Catherine Pollum; and three grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to University of Michigan Cancer Center or St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Visitation was Sunday (July 21, 2002) at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was 2 p.m., Sunday (July 21, 2002) at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Davison. The Rev. Andrew Czajkowski celebrant. Burial was in Holy Sepulchre cemetery.

Sue McDonald
Died: Sunday, July 14, 2002
Age: 97

Almont

Sue MacDonald, 97, of Almont, died Sunday (July 14, 2002) at St. Joseph Hospital in Clinton Township.
She was born Jan. 27, 1905 in Yokohoma, Japan.
She came to the United States in 1971 and became a U.S. citizen in 1987. She was a member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Martha Bearinger of Almont; nieces, Jennie Matsumoto of Hawaii, Martha Miyahara of Hawaii, Gladys Russell of California and Barbara Fernandes of California; and nephews, Paul Horio of California and Donald McGregor of Louisiana.
A memorial service was Wednesday (July 17, 2002) at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, Dryden. The Rev. Wayne Ureelofficiated.

Junior Garlinghouse
Died: Sunday, July 14, 2002
Age: 77

Dryden

Junior "J.E." Garlinghouse, 77, of Dryden (formerly of Ferndale), died Sunday (July 14, 2002).
He was born Feb. 8, 1925, in Flint, to Elton and Leona (Beckman) Garlinghouse. He married Lucy Gascho in Mount Clemens on Nov. 17, 1942.
He served in the Army during World War II. He owned and operated the J.E. Garlinghouse Excavating Co. During the last 10 years, he had owned and operated Attica Auto. He and his wife enjoyed winters in Lakeland, Fla.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy Garlinghouse of Dryden; children, Gary Garlinghouse, Peggy (Kenneth) Bradley of Dryden, John (Cathy) Garlinghouse of Dryden, Lucy (Mark) Cromas of Imlay City and Amber Garlinghouse of Dryden; grandchildren, Brian, Andrew, Darlene, John Jr., Sarah and Matthew; and brother, Lyle Garlinghouse of Royal Oak.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Barbara Bekes, Royal Garlinghouse and Ralph Garlinghouse.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dryden Wesleyan Church.
Cremation has taken place.

Mary A. Nelson

Age: 95

Lapeer

Mary A. Nelson, 95, of Lapeer (formerly of Okemos), died Saturday (July 13, 2002).
She was born Sept. 12, 1906, in Lapeer, to Robert and Addie (Jones) Nelson.
She was a former Lapeer County school teacher. She retired from the Lansing school system in 1969 with 40 years of service. She was an avid quilter with the Faith Lutheran Church in Okemos for many years. She enjoyed caring for her peacocks and flock of wild turkeys.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Ralph Grossbauer of Alma, Ray (Bonnie) Grossbauer of Lapeer, Janet (Ron) Deschler of Burton, Alan (Jolane) Grossbauer of Lapeer, Margaret (Ray) Bissett of Brown City, Duane (Janet) Glady of Marysville, Molly (Davis) Mason of Mexico, Mary Anne Sowash of Florida, Robert (Joyce) Nelson of Lapeer; and many great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Francis Glady, Anna Grossbauer and Robert Nelson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lapeer Area Hospice.
Funeral services were Monday (July 15, 2002) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. The Rev. Peter DeKlerk officiated. Burial was in Mount Hope cemetery, Lapeer.
