Glenadine B. Somerville, 69, of Attica, died May 29, 2002.
She was born July, 23, 1932, in Lum, to Glenn and Sylvia (Huntley) Hauxwell. She married Robert E. Somerville in Angola, Ind. on Dec. 13, 1950. She graduated from Lapeer High School in 1950. She worked for Suncrest in the housekeeping department for 17 years, retiring in 1995. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her children, Gene (Marian) Somerville of Attica, Christy Somerville (friend, Gary Gonyea) of Mount Morris and Kim (Julie) Somerville of Attica; mother, Sylvia Hauxwell of Lapeer; grandchildren, Naomi (Steve) Peck of Lapeer, Kim Jr. and Kayla Somerville of Attica; great-grandson, Jeremy Peck of Lapeer; and sister, Marilyn (Kenny) Fischer of Lapeer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Somerville in 1992; father, Glenn Hauxwell; and niece, Sandra Fischer.
Memorial contributions may be made to Suncrest Alzheimer's Wing.
Funeral services were Friday (May 31, 2002) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. The Rev. Peter DeKlerk officiated. Burial was in Attica Township cemetery, Attica.

Florence M. Scott
Died: Wednesday, May 29, 2002
Age: 85

Imlay City

Florence M. Scott, 85, of Imlay City, died May 29, 2002 at Homewood Village, a McLaren Hospice Residential Unit in Flint.
She was born July 28, 1916 in Pontiac. She married Newell J. Scott on Nov. 16, 1940.
She and Newell moved to California in 1944 and returned to Michigan in 1974. They have shared 61 years of marriage together. She was a Realtor in California for many years.
She is survived by her loving husband, Newell J. Scott; daughter, Sheryl S. Roland of Forest Falls, Calif; son, Gregory B. Scott of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; grandchildren, Autumn May of Long Beach, Calif, Nicholas May of Forest Falls, Calif, Amie and David Scott of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; sisters, Eleanor MacKenzie of East China, Helen (Adam) Wodowski of Black River; nieces, Chloanne (Alan) Young of Harrisville, Devera (Monte) Oberlee of Oakland Township; nephews, Jeffrie (Kay) Burdette of West Bloomfield, Brian (Kathy) Burdette of Macomb Township, Jim (Diane) Burdette of Sterling Heights, Roderick MacKenzie of East China, Ben (Eleanor) Scott of Gaylord, Jack Scott of Ann Arbor, Jimmie (Bonnie) Scott of Bella Vista, Ark.; numerous nephews, nieces several times removed; cousins; and many friends here and in California.
Memorial contributions may be made to McLaren Hospice Service, 237 Davis Lake Road, Lapeer, MI 48446.
A memorial service and burial will be held at a later date. Cremation has already taken place.

Nicholas Brian Jerome
Died: Tuesday, May 28, 2002

North Branch

Nicholas Brian Jerome, infant, of North Branch, died May 28, 2002.
He was born May 28, 2002, in Flint, to Brian and Jennifer (Sheldon) Jerome.
He is survived by his parents, Brian and Jennifer (Sheldon) Jerome; grandparents, Brent and Dawn Jerome of North Branch and Randy and Ann Sheldon of Columbiaville; great-grandparents, Tom and Nancy Miller of Brown City, Laurence and Evian Baker of Flushing, Kenneth and Jackie Sheldon of Felch, and Harry and Lucille Davidson of Felch; 1 great-great-grandmother, Susan Cochrane of Snover; and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Larry Jerome; great-great-grandfather, Matthew Cochrane; great-aunt, Kim McClung.
Funeral services were June 1, 2002 at Moore Township cemetery, Snover. The Rev. Brent Jerome of North Branch officiated. Burial was in Moore Township cemetery, Snover.

Philip E. Henry
Died: Tuesday, May 28, 2002
Age: 52

Taylor

Philip E. Henry, 52, of Taylor (formerly of Dryden and Almont), died Tuesday (May 28, 2002).
He was born Oct. 9, 1949, in Pontiac, to Jesse and Betty (Newman) Henry.
He graduated from Dryden High School and received his bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University. He worked as a cost accountant at Wayne State University for 24 years.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Henry of Rochester; brothers, James (Kim) of Rochester Hills, Joel (Stacey) of Bloomfield and Richard of Freemont, Calif.; sisters, Carolyn (Wayne) Carrick of Attica and Debra (Rene) Brousseau of Shelby; 12 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Henry.
A graveside service was Saturday (June 1, 2002) at Ferguson cemetery, Almont. The Rev. Jim Byrd of the First Baptist Church of Almont officiated.

Roy H. Hallock
Died: Tuesday, May 28, 2002
Age: 76

North Branch

Roy H. Hallock, 76, of North Branch, died Tuesday (May 28, 2002).
He was born Jan. 26, 1926, to Charles and Daisy (Heaps) Hallock. He married Betty Mayree Chambers on Sept. 7, 1957.
He lived in North Branch all his life. He served in the Army during World War II. After leaving the Army, he owned and operated a service station in North Branch until 1965. He worked for Champion Motor Coach from 1970 until he retired in 1999. He enjoyed companionship with his golden retriever, Shadow, for 11 years. He was a member of the North Branch Legion Post 457. He was also a volunteer for the North Branch Fire Dept. for over 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Mayree of North Branch; children, Kenneth (Jackie) Hallock of Madison Heights and Carol (Mark) Grimes of North Branch; grandchildren, Brian and Nicole Hallock of North Branch, and Karen and Pamela Grimes of North Branch; one brother, George (Anabel) Hallock of California; and one sister, Margaret Tewksbury of Troy.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Orr Museum.
Funeral services were Friday (May 31, 2002) at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home, North Branch. The Rev. Wayne Ferrigan officiated. Burial was in Westlawn cemetery.

Elaine E. Woodward

West Virginia

Elaine E. (Mancour) Woodward, 65, of West Virginia (formerly of Michigan), died May 27, 2002.
She is survived by her children, Susan (Ken) Andress, Allen Mancour, Scott (Dawn) Mancour, Ed (Brenda) Mancour, Wendy (Mike) McMullen, Keith (Emma) Mancour, Monica (Bob) DeVault, Tracy (Pam) Mancour and Dede (Robert) Lockhart; 32 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one brother, three sisters and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Chuck Mancour.
Funeral services were Saturday (June 1, 2002) at Baird-Newton Funeral Home, Lapeer. Burial was in Green Corners cemetery, Hadley.

Karl David Kolhagen

Fort Worth, Texas

Karl David Kolhagen, 34, of Fort Worth, Texas, died Monday (May 27, 2002) at home.
He was born May 29, 1967, in Lapeer, to Henry and Barbara (Klutz) Kolhagen. He moved to Texas in 1976.
He is survived by his parents, Henry and Barbara (Klutz) Kolhagen of Forth Worth; sisters, Alicia (Bernie) Taft of Hickory, N.C., and Becky (Thomas) Lopez of Fort Worth; brothers, Michael (Denise) Kolhagen of Lapeer and Kenneth (Kim) Kolhagen of Joshua, Texas; grandmother, Goldie Klutz of Fort Worth; uncles, Lawrence (Chiyoko) Klutz of Fort Worth and David Kolhagen of Saline; aunts, Ruthie (Jim) Schang of Lapeer, Anna Greer of Lapeer and Georgia Campbell of Hanford, Calif.; 13 nieces and nephews and13 cousins.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Henry Kolhagen, 6200 Stephenson Levy Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76140.
Funeral services and burial were in Fort Worth.

Robert Lee Moore
Died: Sunday, May 26, 2002
Age: 79

West Branch

Robert Lee Moore, 79, of West Branch (formerly of Lapeer), died May 26, 2002.
He was born April 28, 1923, in West Branch, to Harley and Grace (Withey) Moore. He married Vera L. Stephenson on Aug. 2, 1944.
He was a farmer and had lived in West Branch since the late 1960s. His family moved to Flint when he was a child. He insisted on returning north to stay with his Withey grandparents as soon as school was out for the summer and wouldn't go back until the very day before school started. From 1946-1970 he managed, then owned the Gambles store in Lapeer, always returning to northern Michigan for vacations and to visit family. In 1970, he moved to Ogemaw County to farm. He enjoyed fishing with his son and nephews. Throughout his life his family was his primary focus. In the last seven years of his life, his very best friend, next to his wife of over 50 years, was his great-grandson Taylor.
He is survived by his wife, Vera Moore of West Branch; daughters, Barbara (Elliott) Snow of Ann Arbor and Marcia Moore of Prescott; son, Ronald Moore of West Branch; grandchildren, Jeff and David Moore, Rachel, Sarah and Nicholas Snow, Shawn (Mitch) Garry and Neil (Michelle) Streeter; and great-grandchildren, Taylor Schocki and Shalynnda Garry.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Moore; and three sisters, Dorthea Cameron, Elsie Shaw and Celia Grappin.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Churchill United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were Wednesday (May 29, 2002) at Steuernol and McLaren Funeral Homes Inc. Burial was in Selkirk cemetery, West Branch.

Arnold R. Boots
Died: Sunday, May 26, 2002
Age: 85

Lapeer

Arnold R. Boots, 85, of Lapeer, died May 26, 2002.
He was born Jan. 31, 1917 to the late Henry and Rose Boots. He married Stella in 1939.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He retired from Buick after 30 years as a set-up-man. He loved his children and grandchildren more than anything. He was an avid sports fan and played the harmonica, accordion and enjoyed playing instant lottery games.
He is survived by his children, Betty (Louis) Cherny of Swartz Creek, Jim (Linda) Boots of Davison, John Boots of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella in 1985; three brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services were Wednesday (May 29, 2002) at Baird-Newton Funeral Home, Lapeer. Burial was in Stiles cemetery in Mayfield Township with military honors under the auspices of the Lapeer American Legion.
