Christopher P. Brown, 36, of Lapeer (formerly of Garden City), died Nov. 16, 2001.
He was born Aug. 4, 1965, in Southfield, to Doyle Brown and Martha (Johnston) Apigian. He married Julie Billington in Florida on May 25, 2001.
Chris worked as a welder for Antieau's Welding in Garden City. He loved hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Julie of Lapeer; children, Nicholas of Livonia, Ryan of Lapeer, Amanda of Ferndale, Hunter of Ferndale, Brook of Lapeer, Mya of Lapeer; mother, Martha (Al) Apigian of Dearborn; sisters, Marijo (Junior) Thomas of Melvindale, Margaret Pegi Triplett of Romulus, Laura (John) Ochocki of Brighton and Sarah Apigian of Dearborn.
He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Brown in June 2001.

Margaret P. Fox

Margaret P. Fox, 92, of Lapeer, died Nov. 16, 2001.
She was born in Kingston to Melvin and Margaret (Chambers) Wilcox. She married Arthur Fox in North Branch on August 30, 1938.
She married the love of her life Arthur Fox, and together they have celebrated 63 precious years of marriage. She will be greatly missed by her loving family.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur; children, Nancy (Arthur) DeVriendt of Dryden and Raymond (Linda) of Lapeer; grandchildren, Christopher (Natalee) DeVriendt of Lapeer, Michael (Connie) DeVriendt of Attica, Dennis (LaDonna) of Mundy Twp, Derrick (Nikole) of Grand Blanc and Philip (Michelle) of Burton; great grandchildren, Joshua, Killian, Monica, Zachery and Tyler; sister, Naomi (Thomas) Bower of Caro; brother, Max (Geraldine) Wilcox of Marlette.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Margaret (Chambers) Wilcox; daughter, Lydia Fox; granddaughter, Sheri DeVriendt; great-grandson, Jeremy Fox; 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
Memorial contributions may be made to the McLaren Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
Funeral services were Monday (Nov. 19, 2001) at Baird-Newton Funeral Home. Rev. Fred Timm officiated. Burial was in Stiles cemetery.

Velma Jean Murcko

Velma Jean (Fitch) Murcko, 74, of Mayville, died Thursday (Nov. 15, 2001).
She was born July 18, 1927 in Lapeer. She married Joseph Murcko in Ohio on July 10, 1950.
She loved being with her grandchildren, going to garage sales and collecting chickens and teddy bears.
She is survived by her sons, Danny of Lapeer, Ronald (Shirley) of Humboldt, Kan.; daughters, Judy of Lapeer, Nancy (James) Bindon of Mayville; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Virgina (Gerald) Morea of Goodrich.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family fund, which will be distributed to local charities.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; son, John; 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
Funeral services were held Saturday (Nov. 17, 2001) at Avram Funeral Home, Mayville. Pastor Paul Armstrong officiated.

Thelma T. Metro

Beaverton
Thelma T. Metro, 88, of Beaverton (lifetime Lapeer area resident), died Thursday (Nov. 15, 2001).
She was born Jan. 15, 1913, in Goodland Township, Lapeer County, to Frank and Blanche (Smith) Smith. She married Harry J. Metro in Rochester on Dec. 14, 1935.
Mrs. Metro was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She and her husband had been active members of Calvary Bible Church and devoted missionaries. She was a missionary in Ethiopia, teaching and doing pharmacy work. They had a weekly radio program on WMPC for over 10 years.
She is survived by her husband, Harry of Beaverton; daughter, Pauline (Dan) Sturgis of Beaverton; grandchildren, Douglas Poole, Donald Sturgis, David Poole, Cynthia Wasilewski, Daniel Sturgis, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Melisa Poole Schoenberg, Alexandra Poole, Zachary Poole, Joshua Poole, Jonathan Poole, Rebecca Poole, Brittani Sturgis; 3 great-great-grandchildren; step-granddaughter, Danalee Howell; step-great-grandchildren, Jennifer Howell and Matthew Howell; 2 sisters and 1 brother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Pat Smith.

Funeral services were held Monday (Nov. 19, 2001) at Calvary Bible Church, Lapeer. Rev. Arnold Bracy and Rev. Peter DeKlerk officiated. Burial was in West Goodland cemetery.

Henry N. Hauxwell

Henry N. Hauxwell, 57, of Attica, died Thursday (Nov. 15, 2001).
He was born Feb. 8, 1944, in Flint, to Francis and Myrtle (Shafer) Hauxwell.
He retired from GM Truck and Bus in 1997, completing 30 years of service. He was a member of the Bearinger Church. He enjoyed farming and auto mechanics. He will be greatly missed by his loving family.
He is survived by his son, William Nathan (Shawn); grandchildren, Zacharey William and Jesica Marie; special friend, Carol Hoover of Bellevue; parents, Frances and Myrtle of Attica; brother, Willard (Mary) of Attica; 2 nieces and 3 nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday (Nov. 18, 2001) at Baird-Newton Funeral Home, Lapeer. Rev. Tim Butterfield officiated. Burial was in the Lum cemetery.

Joseph A. Villareal

Joseph A. Villarreal, 44, of Lapeer, died Nov. 14, 2001 at Lapeer Regional Hospital.
He was born May 25, 1957 at the Whiteman A.F.B., Missouri.
Joseph was a construction worker, he enjoyed sports, boating, dancing and playing the guitar.
He is survived by his fiance', Betty Anne Wilkes of Lapeer; her children, Megan and Roger; his daughters, Monica and Melissa; sister, Anita (Douglas) Bradshaw of Lapeer; brother, Bobby Smith Jr.; nephews, Joe (Renee) Alfaro, J.C. Alfaro and Mario (Corey) Alfaro all of Peck; aunts, uncles, cousins, and his AA family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ramona (Smith) Villarreal.

Margaret W. Munger

Davison
Margaret W. Munger, 83, of Davison, died Wednesday (Nov. 14, 2001) at Genesys Hospice Center of Goodrich.
She was born Aug. 3, 1918, in Oregon Twp., to William and Alma (Wilson) Taylor. She married Fred Munger in LaGrange, Ind. on Jan. 29, 1937.
She had resided in the Davison area most of her life. Mrs. Munger accepted the Lord as her Savior in 1945 and faithfully served him for the next 56 years. She was a member of Calvary Bible Church in Lapeer and it's Ladies First Missionary Society. In addition, she was a life long member of the Gideon's Auxiliary, Davison Historical Society and the Davison Art Club. She and her late husband Fred owned and operated Independent Oil Company till their retirement.
She is survived by her children, Leota (Elwood) Orchard, Barbara (Nyle) Fossett, Christine Bishop, Elaine (Kurt) Gebhard, Mark (Kathy), Rev. Timothy (Kay), Cindy (Jeff) Brown; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Munger on June 23, 1984; son, Edward in 1945; parents; sisters, Chloe Kyle and Dorothy Cram; brother, Wilson Taylor.
Funeral services were held Sunday (Nov. 18, 2001) at the Groves Chapel, Hansen Funeral Home, Davison. Rev, Timothy Munger and Rev. Arnold Bracy officiated. Burial was in the Davison cemetery.
