Lucille A. Morgan, age 72, of Hillsdale, passed away Friday, August 13, 2004, at the home of her daughter in Quincy. She was born December 21, 1931 in Middleport, Ohio to Fred & Cecile (Miller) Diehl.

Lucille retired as supervisor of the Coldwater Regional Center, she was a graduate of Reading High School and a member of the College Baptist Church.

She was married January 27, 1984 to Albert "Al" Morgan and he survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Reanee (Dwayne) McNall of Quincy and Sherrie (Jim) Riddle of Reading; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Lucille Morgan will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m., at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Rev. Steve Read officiating. Interment will follow at the Lakeview cemetery in Hillsdale. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish consider memorial contributions to Hospice of Hillsdale.

Lyle Spahr
April 25, 1935 - August 7, 2004

Location: VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home, Hillsdale

Service: Tuesday, August 11, 2004, at 11:00 a.m.

Lyle Spahr, age 69, of Pittsford, passed away Saturday August 7, 2004 at his home. He was born on April 25, 1935 in Hillsdale County to Ross and Alberta (Shiffler) Spahr.

Lyle graduated form Pittsford High School in 1954, and received a B.A. degree from Adrian College. He was a teacher at Pittsford Area Schools for 28 years until his retirement in 1989. He served in the U.S. Army, was a member of the Pittsford Lions Club, Pittsford Golf League, and was a avid golfer.

On August 16, 1958 he married Colleen Perrin who preceded him in death in 2000, he was also preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Karen, and three brothers.

Lyle is survived by a daughter, Brenda (Dr. Leslie) Fraser of Horton; one son, Gary (Sue) Spahr of Cedar Springs; two sisters, Dorla (Jerome) Meehan of Nashville; Sandy (Bill) Tate of Hastings; three brothers, Norman(Glenna) Spahr of Osseo; Bob (Rose) Spahr of Hillsdale; Mike (Kim) Spahr of Largo, Fl; five grandchildren, Kellie and Kyle Spahr, Lyndi and Daniel Spahr, and Eric Rossman.

Funeral services for Lyle Spahr will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale, with Dr. Sam Wickard officiating. Interment will follow at the Leonardson cemetery in Pittsford, the family will recieve friends Monday from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Leo G. Webster
March 5, 1916 - July 10, 2004

Service: Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at 11:00 a.m.

Leo G. Webster, age 88, of Jonesville passed away Saturday, July 10, 2004 at the Maplewood Manor in Monroe. He was born on March 5, 1916 in Jefferson Township to Clarence and Ruby (Weathewax) Webster.

Leo graduated from Frontier High School in 1934. In 1941 he bought a farm on Lake Pleasant Road and became a dairy farmer. He served as Ransom Twp. treasurer for 24 years and trustee for four years on the Camden-Frontier Board of Education. He was a member of the Hillsdale First United Methodist Church. After moving to Bird Lake, he served as Jefferson Twp. supervisor. He was employed at DCA in Hillsdale from 1970 until his retirement in 1981. Then he moved to Pescara Lake in Bradenton, Florida. He took up golfing and shuffling and enjoyed both very much. He returned to Hillsdale in 1999.

On November 7, 1936 he married Altha Baker and she survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Brenda Alicea of Georgetown, Texas; a son, Gary (Carolyn) Webster of Alto; one sister, Wilma Fitzgerald Coffey of Hillsdale; son-in-law Noyle Wasnich of Union City; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter Charlotte Wasnich in March 2004.

Services for Leo Webster will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale, with Pastor Sean Kidd officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen cemetery in Ransom Township. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Merlene F. Creek
June 12, 1932 - July 30, 2004

Merlene F. Creek, age 72, of Main St., Alvordton, Ohio passed away Friday, July 30, 2004 at Toledo Hospital. She was born June 12, 1932 in Petrolia, Ontario Canada to Joseph and Vera (Volway) Tobin.

Mert retired from Fayette Tubular in 1994 with over 30 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, poetry, reading and telling jokes, cats, bird watching and was a professional nintendo "Mario" player.

Surviving Mert are two daughters, Lory (Barney) Klopfenstein of Wauseon, Ohio and Elaine (Robert) Cupp of Edgerton, Ohio; one son, Mark (Chris) Creek of Montpelier, Ohio; six sisters, Jane (Vic) Ribblet of Plymouth, Michigan, Patsy Taylor of Clear Lake, Indiana, Madaline Sentle of Pioneer, Ohio, Margaret (Dale) Gleckler of Lyons, Ohio, Joanne Whetro of Alvordton, Ohio and Sue (Butch) Bany of Bryan, Ohio; 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Carol Figgins, two daughters, Teresa Daniels and Barbara Creek and one son, Tom Creek.

Memorial services for Merlene "Mert" Creek will be Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at Eagle Funeral Home in Fayette, Ohio with Minister Mike Harbour officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Union cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time.

Morine B. Gemmill
February 26, 1921 - July 17, 2004

Morine B. Gemmill, age 83, of Hillsdale, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2004, at the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility. She was born Feb. 26, 1921 in Hillsdale County, Michigan to William & Nora (Hammond) Westfall.

Morine was co-owner and operator of Gemmill Trucking and an Avon representative for 31 years. She was a member of Cambria Baptist Church, a volunteer for the American Red Cross, the March of Dimes, and the American Cancer Society.

She was married November 28, 1940 to Lewis Gemmill Jr. and he preceded her in death in 1990. She is survived by two daughters, Janice (Fran) Ramey of Hillsdale and Julia (George) Gemmill Waterman of Dallas, Texas; a son, James (Sheryll) Gemmill of Hillsdale; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; sister, Eva (Robert) Sowle of Jonesville; brother, Edward Westfall of Frontier; and a very special friend, Peter Dippong.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Maleta Turner and two grandchildren.

Funeral services for Morine Gemmill will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., at the Cambria Baptist Church with Pastor Ryan Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Cambria cemetery # 2.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.

August 24, 1941 - June 29, 2004

Marie E. Richardson, age 62, of Fayette, Ohio passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at Harborside Healthcare in Sylvania, Ohio. She was born August 24, 1941 in Hillsdale County, Michigan to Guy Burt and Mildred Mae (Osborn) Richardson.

Marie was employed at Plastech in Wauseon, Ohio.

Surviving Marie are one son, Michael (Belinda) Blair of Montezuma, Indiana; two grandchildren, Mike and Penny Blair; three sisters, Jan (Don) Oliphant of Alvordton, Ohio, Phyllis "Joan" (Gale) McNett of Adrian, Michigan and Betty Lou (Daniel) Shaffer of Cave City, Arkansas; two brothers, Cleo Richardson of Merry Lake, Michigan and Ronald (Barb) Richardson of Bird Lake, Michigan and special friend, Paul "Skip" Briskey of Hudson. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services for Marie will be Friday, July 2, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Eagle Funeral Home in Fayette, Ohio with Pastor James Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Maplewood cemetery in Reading, Michigan. Visitation will be Thursday, July 1, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Norma Amos
February 2, 1918 - August 3, 2004

Norma Amos, age 86, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2004, at Vista Grande Villa in Jackson. She was born February 2, 1918, to Glen L. and Bessie (Lauder) Hackett Sr. She married Hugh Amos M.D. in 1962.

Norma graduated from Sacred Heart High School of Hudson and Siena Heights College of Adrian. She served in WW II as a special service club director for the American Red Cross in Stuttgart, Germany, was a department store buyer at Crowley's in Detroit, Jelleff's in Washington D.C., and Halle's in Cleveland. She was a member of Queen's of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, Amarantte Club, Woman's Club and Golfettes all of Jackson. Norma enjoyed playing golf and bridge.

Surviving Norma are two sisters, Ruth (Thomas) Hunsucker of Washington, Michigan and Lois (Jerry) Stein of Hessel Michigan; one step daughter, Harriet (Louis) Fried of Ridge Manor, Florida; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, seven brothers and four sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial for Norma Amos will be Saturday August 7, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Rick Eberle as celebrant. Interment will be at Calvary cemetery in Hudson at a later date. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. with a vigil prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson.

Natalie Kathleen Nye

Natalie Kathleen Nye was stillborn on July 29, 2004 at Toledo Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. Natalie is survived by her parents, Randy and Lisa (Gordon) Nye; one sister, Kaitlin; and one brother, Daniel; all of Camden. Natalie is also survived by her grandparents, David (Kathleen) Gordon of Defiance, Ohio, and Patricia (George) Prosser of Jonesville; and a great grandfather, Kenneth Copeland of Fremont, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Don Nye.

There will be a private graveside service for Natalie Nye at Woodbridge cemetery with the Rev. Don Harkey officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.

Orland Harry "Bud" Walker
April 6, 1930 - August 3, 2004

Orland Harry "Bud" Walker, age 74, of N. Eagle Street, Fayette, Ohio passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at his home. He was born April 6, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio to Orland "Red" Harry and Theresa Alberta (Glock) Walker Sr. He married Ann Phillips on May 11, 1990 in Fayette, Ohio and she survives.

Bud retired from Kelsey Hayes as a engineer in 1995 with 48 years of service. He graduated from Fayette High School in 1948, was a U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean Conflict, a member of Fayette American Legion Post #143, Wauseon V.F.W. Post #7424 and was a Mason for over 50 years. Bud was a drummer in several bands, performed in the Ginnivan show and enjoyed fishing.

Surviving Bud Besides his wife, Ann of Fayette are one daughter, Sherry DiCenso, Waldron, Michigan; one, step daughter, Barbara Grant, of Fayette; three grandchildren, Melanie (Kevin) Whitlock, of West Unity, Ohio, Lisa (Lee) Rabe, of Wauseon, Ohio and Tiffany (Adam) Bachman of Wauseon; two sisters, Barb Blassingame of Tuscon, Arizona and Verna Jean (Robert) Psurny of Bryan, Ohio; nine great grandchildren, five step grandchildren, three great step grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, step son, Mike Beaverson and son in-law, Jr. DiCenso.

Funeral services for Bud Walker will be Friday, August 6, 2004, at 1:00 p.m. at Eagle Funeral Home in Fayette, Ohio with Rev. Winston Hatcliff officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Union cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 4, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, August 5, 2004 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

Pauline L. Bennett
March 4, 1923 - July 22, 2004

Pauline L. Bennett, age 81, of Allen, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2004 at the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility. She was born on March 4, 1923 in Allen Township, Michigan to Ora and Anah (Sullivan) Avery.

Pauline graduated from the Allen High School in 1941, and attended the Bankers Baptist Church.

On February 28, 1942 she married Charles Bennett who preceded her in death in 1987. She was also preceded by her parents and a son, Donald.

Pauline is survived by three sons, Jerry (Karin) Bennett of Mansfield, Ohio, Mike (Kay) Bennett of Allen, Rick (Pam) Bennett of Hillsdale; two sisters, Viola Laurel of Coldwater, Jean (Joe) Randolph of Arizona; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and a special friend Jack McLain of Hillsdale.

Funeral services for Pauline will be Monday, July 26, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with the Rev. Clyde Wonders officiating. Interment will follow at the Allen cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 25, 2004 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
