Opal M. Toner
October 11, 1918 - November 20, 2004

Opal M. Toner, age 86, of Pittsford, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2004 at her home. She was born October 11, 1918 in Hillsdale to Merle & Ethel (Wagner) White. She married Raymond Toner and he preceded her in death.

Opal was a graduate of Pittsford High School, she worked for the Sears & Roebuck Co. in Hillsdale and then worked for the Pittsford Schools for over 30 years as a cook. Opal loved to sew, crochet, and cook. She also raised many farm animals but her true love was for her family, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Opal is survived by two sons, Jack (Karen) Toner of Pittsford, Bruce Toner of Pittsford; a daughter-in- law, Laura Toner of Pittsford; 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and a sister, Leota Allegar of Pittsford.

She is preceded in death by her husband Raymond, son Doug Toner, 2 granddaughters, and a sister Neita Arnold.

The funeral service for Opal M. Toner will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Dr. Samuel Wickard and Rev. Richard Thorp co-officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 23, 2004 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to make a donation to Hospice of Hillsdale County.

Scott William-Lee Ringman
January 7, 1963 - November 5, 2004

Location: VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home, Hillsdale

Service: Wednesday, November 10, 2004 @ 2:30 p.m.

Scott William-Lee Ringman, age 41, an eight month resident of Jackson and a lifelong Hillsdale resident, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 5, 2004, at Foote Memorial Hospital in Jackson. He was born in Hillsdale on January 7, 1963 to Robert & Sharon (Jackson) Ringman.

Scott was a press operator for Bare Metal Forms, Inc. in Jackson and was a former employee of Hi-Lex Controls in Hillsdale. Scott was an accomplished musician, he enjoyed playing the guitar and at one time was in his own band.

Scott was married August 27, 2004 and is survived by his loving spouse, Polly (Stull) Hirsh Ringman. Also surviving are his children, Derek Ringman, Angela and Ashley Ringman. He was anticipating the birth of his fourth child in approximately two months. Also surviving is his step-father, Ken Price of Hillsdale and his step-mother, Joyce Ringman also of Hillsdale; sisters, Gloria Templeton of South Lyon, Mi, Melody Rimer and Cheryl Hammond, both of Hillsdale, Debbie Southwell of Jackson and Anita Steinfeldt of Camden; brothers, Robert Ringman II. of Texas and Kenny Price of Archbold, Ohio.

Funeral services for Scott Ringman will be Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Pastor Paul Pickell officiating. Interment will follow at the Northlawn cemetery in North Adams. The visitation will be Tuesday, November 9, 2004 from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family of Scott Ringman.

Timothy Severy
April 18, 1950 - November 11, 2004

Timothy Severy, age 54, of Hillsdale, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2004, at his home. He was born April 18, 1950 in North Stratford, New Hampshire to Linwood & Hilda Severy.

Tim was a former chef at the Hillsdale Golf and Country Club and a graduate of the North Stratford High School in 1968.

Tim is survived by friends, Judy McKeage of Colebrook, New Hampshire and Lynn Beaverson of Hillsdale. He was preceded by a close friend, Ollie Buckner.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service for Tim Severy on Monday, November 15, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Pastor Don Harkey officiating. Interment will take place at the Fairview cemetery in North Stratford, New Hampshire at a later date.

Vivian M. Belcher
August 4, 1918 - December 2, 2004

Visitation: Sunday, December 5, 2004 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
Service: Monday, December 6, 2004 @ 11:00 a.m.

Vivian M. Belcher, age 86, of S. Bird Lake Road, Osseo, Michigan passed away Thursday, December 2, 2004 at home. She was born August 4, 1918, in Missouri to Fredrick Edwin and Mable (Mullen) Fowler. She married LaVern Belcher on June 10, 1940, and he preceded her in death on October 19, 1994.

Vivian resided in Clinton, Tennessee for the past ten years and was a member of the Temple Baptist Church and Widows Group in Powell, Tennessee. She enjoyed country music, reading, cooking, and going to auctions.

Surviving Vivian are two sons, Carl (Crystal) Belcher of Osseo and Lafayette "Tiny" (Marcia) of Clinton, Tennessee; one brother, Fred (Ella May) Fowler of Hudson, Michigan; 16 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 42 great great grandchildren, several step grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sons, Harold, Frank and Arthur Belcher, four great grandchildren, three sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services for Vivian Belcher will be Monday, December 6, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson with Rev. Clyde Wonders officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove cemetery in Morenci. Visitation will be Sunday, December 5, 2004 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may make memorial contributions to Hospice of Hillsdale County.

Victor L. Rowe
June 25, 1908 - November 2, 2004

Victor L. Rowe, age 96, of Hillsdale, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2004, at the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility. He was born June 25, 1908 in Galesburg, Illinois to Fred & Aclelia (Stallman) Rowe.

Mr. Rowe was a retired photographer, he ran the Victor Rowe Photo Studio in Hillsdale from 1948 - 1975, he previously had a studio in Detroit and also did door to door photography. He was a member of Hillsdale First United Methodist Church, the Moose Lodge and the Hillsdale Elks Lodge.

He was first married to Edna Smith, he later married Vivian (Marshall) Matz and she preceded him in death in 1975. In November of 1975 he married Iva Wilkins and she preceded him in death in 2001. He is also preceded by three sons, Charles, Robert and David Rowe, and two brothers, Frederick and Harlan.

Mr. Rowe is survived by a son, Gary (Edna) Rowe of Piffsford; a stepson, Marshall Matz of Westlake Village, California; a sister, Freda Hoppe of Vera Beach, Florida; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Victor Rowe will be Saturday, November 6, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Pastor Curtis Jensen officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove cemetery in Hillsdale. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 5, 2004 from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Hospice of Hillsdale.

William H. Kane
May 7, 1923 - March 30, 2005

William H. Kane, age 81, of Forrister Road, Rollin, Michigan passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at Hillsdale Community Health Center. He was born May 7, 1923 in Osseo, Michigan to John W. and Lucy (Shewman) Kane. He married Wilma Nichols on July 10, 1954 in Addison, Michigan and she preceded him in death on March 10, 1987.

William retired from Bohn Aluminum in Adrian, Michigan in 1986 after 38 years of service. He was a US Army WW II Veteran and member of Hudson Senior Citizen Center.

Surviving William are two daughters, Teresa (Fred) Keys and Tammy (Jason) Rutan all of Osseo; two sons, Terry (Janet) Kane of Pittsford, Michigan and Scott (Cheryl) Kane of Hillsdale, Michigan; special friend, Tilli Harris of Rollin, Michigan; two sisters, Doris Schultz, of Jackson, Michigan and Mary Ruskowsky of Hudson, Michigan; two brothers, Art (Olyse) Kane of Dodson, Texas and Melvin (Cecily) Kane of Tipton, Michigan; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, Evelyn Winchester and twin Wilma Aldrich.

Funeral services for William Kane will be Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson with Rev. Don Harkey officiating. Military interment by the Hudson American Legion Hannan Colvin Post #180 will follow at Maple Grove cemetery in Hudson. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

William V. Dunten
September 14, 1927 - March 19, 2005

Service: Wednesday, March 23, 2005 @ 1:00 p.m.

William Dunten, 77, of E. Congress Street, Morenci passed away Saturday, March 19, 2005, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo. He was born on September 14, 1927 in Champaign, Illinois the son of James & Mae (Woody) Dunten. On May 16, 1987 in Morenci he married Dorothy Clark Pobanz and she survives.

Bill worked at Tecumseh Products for forty-three years before retiring in 1988. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was a member of the Morenci American Legion Post #368. Bill was an avid sports fan and loved fishing and hunting.

Besides his wife, Dorothy, Bill is survived by a step-son, Thomas (Theresa) Pobanz of Morenci; a sister, Jean Lapham of Angola, Indiana; a brother, James
Dunten of Hillsdale; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at the Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. James Yatzek officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove cemetery in Jefferson Twp. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, March 22, 2005 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Morenci EMS, Morenci Athletic Boosters or donor's choice.

Viola M. Flint
March 7, 1916 - March 30, 2005

Viola M. Flint, age 89, of Hillsdale, formerly of Osseo, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility. She was born on March 7, 1916 in Cambria Township, Michigan to Demi and Iva (Huston) Shiffler.

Viola was a retired Nurses Aid at the former Maplelawn Nusing Home and she was a graduate of Reading High School.

Her first marriage was to Forrest Woodard who preceded her in death in 1960. On December 2, 1961 she married Keith Flint who preceded her in death in 2003.

Viola is survived by a son, Jerry Woodard and fiancee Janet Kibert of Hillsdale; three step-daughters, Beverly Peiffer of Florida, Ruth (Larry) Merillat of Osseo, and Linda Compton of Osseo; seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren

A graveside service for Viola Flint will be Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 2:00 p.m at East Hill cemetery in Osseo with Pastor Don Lee officiating. Friends may call anytime after 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2005 at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale. There will be no scheduled visitation.

Reuben "June" Wornstaff
August 13, 1915 - March 19, 2005

Location: Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson
Visitation: Wednesday, March 23, 2005, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M.
Service: Thursday, March 24, 2005, at 1:30 p.m.

Reuben Wornstaff, age 89, of Hudson passed away Saturday, March 19,2005, at Charlotte Regional Medical Center in Punta Gorda, Florida. He was born August 13, 1915, in Hudson, Michigan to Reuben and Nina (Jewell) Wornstaff Sr. He married Marjorie Brock on October 23, 1937, in LaGrange, Indiana.

Reuben retired form Consumers Energy in 1980, after 33 years of service and was a graduate of Hudson High School Class of 1934. He was a U.S. Army WWII veteran, a member of Hudson First United Methodist Church, Hudson American Legion Hannan Colvin Post #180, Hudson Men's City Golf League. He was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing all sports.

Surviving Reuben besides his wife, Marjorie of Hudson are three daughters, Katherine (Ralph) Gibson of Howell, Michigan, Susan Wornstaff of Hastings, Michigan and Sally (Russell) Blurton of Middleville, Michigan; five grandchildren, Michael Gibson of Livonia, Michigan, Scott Gibson of Royal Oak, Michigan, Susan (Larry) Jones of Howell, Kellie (Tom) Hulst of Alto, Michigan and Kristie (Sean) Babbitt of Ada, Michigan; six great grandchildren, Zoie and Jozie Hulst, Jesse and Jake Babbitt and Larry and Kaylea Jones; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Daisy Darr and one brother, Bruce Wornstaff.

Funeral services for Reuben "June" Wornstaff will be Thursday, March 24, 2005, at 1:30 p.m. at Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson with Rev. Mark Johnston officiating. Military interment by Hudson American Legion Hannan Colvin Post #180 will follow at Maple Grove cemetery in Hudson. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may make memorial contributions to Hudson First Methodist Church Library.
