ADKINS, ERVIN, Age 71 of Morley; formerly of Taylor. passed away April 13 at Metron of Big Rapids. He was born July 15, 1926 in Pikeville, KY. The son of James and Gracie (Stephens) Adkins. During his working years he worked as a Tool and Die Maker for many years for Murrays Tool and Die. In 1951 he married Marie DeShano who survives; leaves four sons Robert of Morley, David of Colorado, Mark (Mary) of Taylor, Kenneth of Ionia; three daughters Linda Hayley of Florida, Cindy (Larry) Bray of Morley and Brenda Myers of Taylor; 18 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; he was preceded in death by his mother and father; and a daughter Wanda and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the Germain-Mohnke Funeral Home, with Fr. Phong Pham officiating with burial in Blythefield Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. and prior to services on Thursday.

Beloved husband of Sally (nee Read) for 47 years; dear father of Alexander (Amy) Bacon and Pamela (Jon) Cabot; loving grandfather of Alexander and Daniel Bacon and Stephen Uffelman; brother of Donald Bacon of Colorado. Mr. Bacon was co-founder of Associated Electroplaters in Hazel Park, Michigan and he was a full lieutenant in the Naval Air Force in the Central Pacific. He also received a Presidential Citation Award. Memorial service will be held Friday, April 17, 2 p.m. at Kirk in the Hills Presbyterian Church, 1340 W. Long Lake Rd., Bloomfield Hills. DOANE, JACK HANLON, 95, died April 12, 1998 at his residence in Venice, Florida. He was born in Rose City, Michigan on September 1, 1902. He moved to Venice, Florida from Detroit in 1971. He was a supervisor for Detroit Edison for 40 years before his retirement in 1966; he was loaned to the U.S. Navy as a Torpedo Inspector during WWII; he was a member of Venice Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his two nieces Beverly Watkins of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Faymarian Alexander of Ada, Michigan and his nephew Dr. L.V. Tremper of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He will be buried beside his beloved late wife Beatrice, with a family service in Michigan. Graveside services Friday, April 17, 1998, 2:00 p.m. at Acacia Park cemetery in Southfield. Farley Funeral Home, in Venice, Florida is in charge of arrangements.

KECK, THELMA L., Age 67. Went home to her Lord April 13, 1998 after a courageous battle with cancer. Thelma was an employee of Green Valley Recreation and a volunteer with Pima County Sheriff Auxiliary Volunteers, Concerned Advisors and Habitat for Humanity. Thelma was born May 12, 1930 in Detroit, Mich. to Robert Lewis Jr. and Settie Lewis. She is survived by ex-husband and best friend Norman R. Keck of Green Valley, Arizona; son Gary L. Keck (Susan) and daughter Carole S. James (Dan) both of Tucson, Arizona. She is also survived by sister Janet McKeel (Harold) of Memphis, Tennessee; and grandsons Bryon and Denver Keck of Tucson. Her generous and loving spirit will be missed by her family and many dear friends, but her love and laughter will live on in our hearts and in our homes. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Thelma s life Sunday, April 19 at 3 p.m. at the Green Valley Community Church. Informal reception will follow. Thelma was laid to rest at Green Valley Memorial Gardens, Sahuarita, Arizona. Charitable donations to those organizations for which she volunteered are requested in lieu of flowers.
