LABO, DONALD, of Trenton, formerly of Dundee. Age 81. passed away March 22, 2001. He leaves behind his beloved wife Lorraine (Salyers) Labo, two sons Thomas (Mona) of Trenton and Jerry (Sue) of South Carolina, a daughter Joyce Brosse of Dundee, his sister Patricia Dawidko of Wyandotte. He was grandfather to seven and great-grandfather to six. Mr. Labo worked for the Trenton Public School System as a Janitor, and will be remembered by some as Speed Labo of Speed Labo and His Orchestra. Mr. and Mrs. Labo owned the Triangle Bar in Dundee between 1962-1968. Services will be private. Arrangements were entrusted to Ralph W. Ridge Funeral Home in Trenton.

McGUINNESS, VIRGINIA MARIE Age 69 of Ann Arbor, MI. Lover of kids, gardening, family and life, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2001 at the University of Michigan Hospital. She was born in Haynesville, KS on November 22, 1921 and was raised there by her parents, William and Agnes (McOsker) Curtis. She received an Associates Degree in Home Economics and Journalism at Parson Junior College in 1939 and worked as a Journalist before marrying her husband of 50 years, James H. McGuinness, who she met while working as an inspector on the B-29 at Boeing in Witchita, KS. Ms. McGuinness was a former resident of Jackson, Grand Rapids and Detroit, MI. She was a member of the Gesu Parish in Detroit for 30 years. She is survived by nine children: James P. of Troy, MI, Philip W. of Kennewick, WA, Paul H. of Grand Rapids, MI, John C. of Atlanta, GA, Thomas J. of Kentwood, WA, Peter M. of Rochester Hills, MI, Andrew J. of Dexter Twp, MI, Matthew C. of Laguna Beach, CA and Mary C. of Ann Arbor, MI; her sister Pauline McGuinness of Clawson, MI; her brother Henry Curtis of Topeka, KS; 14 grandchildren: Elizabeth, Kevin, Ryan, Becky, Maggie, Maureen, Gabriel, Rory, Adam, Quinn, Zachary, Megan, Chase and Anna; and two great-grandchildren, Christian and Zoe. She was preceded in death by her husband James H. McGuinness and her brother Billy Curtis. Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 26 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 2250 E. Stadium, Ann Arbor, MI at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. James McDougal as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery in Dexter, MI. Visitation will be at Janowiak Funeral Home, Geer-Logan Chapel on Sunday, March 25 from 4-6 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass.

She is survived by her sister Josephine Crocker and three grandchildren Michael Lewis, Elizabeth Matthews, and Peter (Michele) Lewis. Marie and her late husband were the owner operators of Universal Laundry Machine Inc. in Dearborn. She was a longtime member of the Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak. Funeral services were held at the Hosmer-Muehlig Funeral Chapel, in Dexter on Friday, March 23, 2001, at 2:30 p.m. Interment was in St. Joseph cemetery.
