EL-AMIN, BILAL ALI Sr. was born Walter C. Wright Jr. in Bowling Green, KY. to the union of the late Walter C. Wright Sr. & Annabelle Wright on Oct. 16, 1939. Bilal attended public schools in Chicago, Illinois and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps in 1960. Bilal & Zahirah El-Amin were married in Chicago and relocated to Michigan in 1964 where he worked for the Detroit News for 29 years. He joined the Nation of Islam in 1969 and became an orthodox Muslim under the leadership of Iman W. D. Mohammed in 1975. He will be remembered as a believer in Allah, a devoted husband and father. His legacy also includes establishing Instant Impressions Printing Company which he and his family have operated for the past 24 years. He leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his memory; his loving wife of 39 years, Zahirah El-Amin; three sons Bilal Wali El-Amin Jr., David Omar El-Amin, Hassan Ali El-Amin; four daughters, Delilah El-Amin Sims, Arissa El-Amin Garrett, Khadijah El-Amin, Asia El-Amin; two brothers, Ralph and Prince Edward Wright; three sisters Robbye Sherril, Mechelle Wright, Judith Beavers; ten grandchildren, 12 nephews, five nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
