SCHMOEKEL, MARY ELLEN Age 72. passed away January 20, 1999 in Livonia. She was born on January 23, 1926 in Detroit to Kenneth and Bernice (Woodbeck) McPherson. Formerly from Detroit, she moved to South Lyon in 1989. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a volunteer for Active Faith. She was the loving mother of George (Frances) Phelps of Novi, Kenneth (Trica) Phelps of Clarkston, and Charles (Joyce) Phelps of Detroit; her brother O.E. McPherson and 8 grandchildren also survive her. Her husband Robert Schmoekel preceded her in death. She was born on March 19, 1914 in Standish, Michigan to George and Mary (Walsh) Beaudoin. She was united in marriage to Raymond L. Boyce on August 26, 1939 at St. Rita s Catholic Church in Detroit, Michigan. She was a member of St. Joseph s Catholic Church in Dale and was past president of the National Council of Catholic Women in Detroit. She was preceded in death by one sister, Ellen Mulrenin. She is survived by her husband, Raymond L. Boyce, Dale, IN; three daughters, Sue Lawrence, Holland, IN, Marijo Ptak, Sterling Heights, MI, Pauline Coffey, Sumner, WA; one son, Christopher Boyce, Hong Kong, China; five brothers, Gilbert Beaudoin, Allen Park, MI, George Beaudoin Jr., Walled Lake, MI, William Beaudoin, Allen Park, MI Edward Beaudoin, Lincoln Park, MI, Thomas Beaudoin, Mears, MI; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. A Funeral Mass for Doris Boyce will be held at 7:00 p.m. EST, (6:00 p.m. Spencer County Time) Wednesday evening, January 26, 2000 at St. Joseph s Catholic Church in Dale, Indiana. Interment will occur at a later date in Michigan. Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg, IN from 2-6:30 p.m. EST, Wednesday afternoon, the same day as the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity.
