LUX, CHARLES R. Sr. 64. of Mt. Pleasant died Saturday, January 24, 1998 at his home in Venice, FL. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Church in Mt. Pleasant. Visitation is at Lux Funeral Home on Thursday from 1-5 and 7-9 p.m. and on Friday from 1-5 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Friday from 7-9 p.m. with a wake service begining at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also call from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Charlie was born June 14, 1933 in Detroit, the son of Raymond Francis Lux and Agnes Wood. He married Nancy M. Walker April 7, 1956. He owned and operated Lux Funeral Home from 1975 until his retirement in 1995. Prior to that, he worked for several funeral homes in the Detroit area including, Bossardet in Oxford, Schultz in East Detroit, and Hopcroft in Hazel Park. He graduated from the Wayne State University mortuary science program in 1963. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Lux of Mt. Pleasant; seven children, Paul (Beth) Lux of Alma, Pam Shoe of Mt. Pleasant, Jennifer (Mike) Mills of Carson City, Matthew (Suzanne) Lux of Peachtree City, GA. Lyle Lux of Carsen City, Edith (Brian) Robinson of West Virginia; and Charlie Lux, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant; his mother, Agnes (Connie) Halter of Mt. Pleasant; and also 12 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

TAYLOR, MORTON GERALD of West Bloomfield. Died suddenly January 24 at 82 years young while visiting his daughter in Tennessee. Dearly beloved husband of Helen M. (Kurzweil). He was the son of the late Morton and LaVina Taylor (Mann) of Pontiac, Michigan. Mr. Taylor graduated from Pontiac High School, where he was the 1933 State 50 yard Freestyle Swimming Champion. After attending Michigan State College (University), he joined Pontiac Motor Division. He retired from General Motors Corporation forty-seven years later, leaving as their Manager of Dealer Development for the Western U.S. Following retirement he was an active member of the Detroit Economic Club. Also surviving are three beloved children, his daughters Pamela (Max) Edwards of Knoxville and Debra (John) Snetting of Plano, Texas and his son Kent Taylor (fiancee Katherine) of Chicago. He will also be lovingly remembered by his three grandchildren Christopher and Brandon Edwards and Jason Snetting. There will be visitation at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, in Pontiac, Friday, January 30, 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be the following morning (January 31) at 11 a.m.

Mrs. Day retired from Waterford Public Schools, where she taught kindergarten. She started teaching at Drayton Plains Elementary, then Cooley Elementary, and finally retired from Donnelson Elementary School. Mrs. Day introduced phonetic reading techniques to her students, giving them the ability to read by the time they left her class. Funeral services will be Sunday, January 31, 1999, 2:00 p.m. at COATS FUNERAL HOME, Waterford. The family will receive friends Saturday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. In leiu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, envelopes available at the funeral home.
