RUSSELL, JOHN LYLE, Born Oct. 2, 1903, in the County of Kent, Charing Cross, Ontario. One of 11 children. passed away Feb. 2, 1999 at the age of 95 in Atlanta, GA. He was formerly of Shelby Twp. He was preceded in death by his wife Vera (Stover) Russell. He is survived by his daughters Beverly (Mel) Brodie of Cumming, GA, Gaylene (Ray) VarnBuhler of Wilseyville, CA and Dianne (James) Tesnar of Ortonville. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and his brothers Norman (Florrie) Russell and Otis Russell, both of Chatham, Ontario; and his sister Helen Ross of Greenville, SC. Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul s Methodist Church in Rochester. Interment in White Chapel cemetery. Visitation Friday 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at PIXLEY FUNERAL HOME, 322 W. VanBRUSSELEN, BEATRICE (nee WATERBURY BOHNER) Born August 7, 1923. Died February 2, 1999 in St. Clair Shores, MI. Daughter of the late Maurice and Daisy Waterbury of Detroit, MI. "Bea Bea" as she was fondly called by friends and family, was preceded in death by her brother Lawrence Waterbury of Miami, Fla. and her devoted husband Frank VanBrusselen, famous Detroit restauranteur and long-time owner of "The Clam Shop" on East Grand Boulevard. Her working career began at Lou Maxon Advertising Agency, from there she moved to Michigan Bell Telephone Co., and then to the Campbell-Edwald Advertising Agency, working in the Media Dept. until her retirement. Bea and her husband Frank were avid boaters and long-time members of the St. Clair Yacht Club; their yachts: The "More Fun I, II and III" were well known at many ports-of-call on the Great Lakes and along the "Nautical Mile." Bea is survived by her niece Sandra Rowland-Campbell of Oxford, Mich. and her sister-in-laws Margaret Hoisington Waterbury of Rochester, Mich. and Mitzie VanBrusselen of Melbourne, Fla. BOWLES, FRANK A., of Clinton, formerly of the Wayne-Westland area, died Wednesday, February 2. He is survived by his wife, Bernice; a son, Jon and Pat Bowles of Clinton; a daughter, Carol Niedzielski and Mike Morgan of Canton, MI; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two sisters. CLARK, MILDRED MARY (Nee Dougherty) Died February 1, 2000 in Canton, Ohio, home of her loving son Dennis M. Clark. Mildred was born August 7, 1911 in Stanley County, Durham, England, moved to Canada and finally settled in Detroit in 1933. She retired from Chrysler Corp. in 1971 after 23 years of Service. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Ernie on January 9, 1949, a daughter Maureen McMullen in 1999 and a sister Gertrude Rice in 1999. She is survived by her son Dennis and his fiancee Anne who reside in Canton, Ohio; sisters Monica Karpus and Nancy Rice of Roseville; three nephews, Larry and Alan Karpus and Kevin Rice; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She was much loved by all who knew her. She lived a very quiet life in Roseville until her death. She will now get her "Birdie Kisses" from the Angels in Heaven. She was the cherished grandmother of 3 grandsons Dennis DiPaolo, San Diego, CA, David DiPaolo, Sylvania, OH, and Donald DiPaolo of Ann Arbor, MI.
