GUBALO, SOPHIA LOTTIE Age 70, of Indialantic, Florida, died Monday, February 8, 1999. Miss Gubalo was born in Tuscola County, Michigan and moved to Florida in 1989 from Madison Heights. She worked as a secretary for General Motors. She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. She is survived by her brother, John Stosiak of Harper Woods, and three sisters, Mary Ann Gladki of Fraser, Genevieve Vnuk of Flat Rock, and Frances Scasny of Dunnellon, Florida. JOHNSON, HARRIET EVELYN Died Sunday, March 14, 1999 of Alzheimer s Disease at Lourdes Nuring Home in Waterford. She was 92. Born May 16, 1906 in Mt. Clemens, the former Harriet Van Hollenbeck married Howard E. Johnson (deceased) of DuBois, Pennsylvania in 1925 and moved to Birmingham in 1927. Mrs. Johnson studied piano at Detroit Conservatory of Music and ws active in local musical groups. A homemaker for much of her life, she and her husband also founded the Johnson Oil Company, a home heating oil firm that serviced the Birmingham, Bloomfield and Pontiac areas from 1952 through 1967. She is survived by her son, Howard (Ethel) of Bloomfield Hills; three grandchildren: Jody, Jeff, Mark; sisters Margaret Rastigue of Chesterfield and Rita Hart of Toledo, Ohio. A private service will be held at Holy Name Church in Birmingham. Interment will be in White Chapel cemetery in Troy. Memorials to Lourdes Nursing Home, 2300 Watkins Lake Rd., Waterford, Michigan 48328 are appreciated.

SAWYER, JAMES O. II, Age 87. Of Venice, FL. Formerly of St. Clair Shores. Died at home March 9, 1999. Mr. Sawyer retired after working as a photographer for Rockwell International in Troy. He was a member of the Grosse Pointe Theater before moving to FL. Mr. Sawyer is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen; daughter, Diane Wellnitz of Venice; daughter-in-law, Joyce Sawyer of Sterling Hts.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by son, James O. Sawyer III and sister, Kay Bake. Cremation has taken place. Mr. Sawyer will be greatly missed but will forever live in the hearts of those that love him.
