LORENGER, ALBERT R. JR. Age 84 of Branch passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at his home. Albert was the beloved husband of Ruth Rounsfull, who preceded him in death. Mr. Lorenger served his country in WWII as a Navy pilot. During his lifetime, he was devoted to the Boy Scouts of America, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, the Order of the Arrow and by whom he was honored with the Silver Beaver Award for his service of over 50 years. Albert is survived by his children Cecilia (Edward) Mularz, Albert (Sherry) Lorenger III, Frederick J. (Shannon) Lorenger, Ruth E.E. Lorenger, Jr. (Special friend the late Danny Lee Hansen), his brothers Bernard (Peg) Lorenger, James (Lorraine) Lorenger, and Sister Margaret Mary IHM, his grandchildren Edward Mularz III, Caroline Mularz, Michael Lorenger, Michelle Lorenger, Erick Lorenger, Emily Lorenger and Riley Iakovidis, several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Lorenger were held at the Stephens Funeral Chapel, in Scottville. Interment will take place at Lakeview cemetery, Irons. McCLAIN, ROBERT F. Age 73 of Sylvania, OH. passed away Thursday, March 15, 2001, at the Cleveland Clinic. Robert was a Veteran of the United States Army during WWII. He was a graduate of the University of Detroit. He was a member of the Floor Covering Association for 55 years, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sylvania, for 28 years, where he served as an usher. He also served as an usher at Christ the King, in Detroit. He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis; nine children, Sharon (Steve) Panik of Colorado, Mary Beth (Paul) Grogan, Jayne (Andy) Beckstead of Sylvania, Colleen (John) Crisman of Sylvania, Robert F. (Debra) McClain Jr. of Michigan, Sr. Patricia Marie McClain, SND of Florida, Charlene (Steve) Sherman of Sylvania, James W. (Tammy) McClain of Sylvania and Amy (Dave) Ross of Toledo; 17 grandchildren; and sister Betty (Raymond) Lustig. SLOAN, DOROTHY LINN MILLS of Carolina Meadows. Died suddenly Thursday, March 15 of a ruptured aneurism. A graduate of Mt. Holyoke, she worked at Conde Nast Publishing Co. until joining the Navy in 1942, where she served as a Lieutenant in the First Class of Waves. She also served from 1964-76 as Director of Religious Education in Rye, NY. She was preceded in death by her husband. Dr. Harold Paul Sloan, Jr. She is survived by her children, Dr. Harold Paul Sloan, III of San Francisco, Julia Sloan Van Hamm of Minneapolis, Sibyl Sloan McBride of Cleveland, Ruth Sloan Gates of Flint, her dear friend, Bill Martasin of Seaford, DE, her grandchildren, daughter and sons in law, relatives and numerous friends. A Memorial Service will be held at Carolina Meadows at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 18. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be sent to University Presbyterian Church of Chapel Hill, N.C.
