SLIWINSKI, RICHARD, age 87 of Newaygo, Michigan passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2002. He was born September 1, 1914 in Detroit, Michigan to Antonio and Martha (Klein) Sliwinski. On September 12, 1936 he married Anna V. Kolosowski in Detroit and she preceded him in death on February 27, 2001. He had been employed by Chrysler Corp. for 40 years until his retirement in 1976. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Newaygo. Survivors include four children: Patricia Neumann of Newaygo, Valerie (Charles) Powell of Florida, Lorraine Sliwinski of Newaygo and Richard (Juanita) Sliwinski II of Chesterfield, MI; ten grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; three brothers: Ralph, Florey and Clements. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Anne Marie, sister Gertrude Kendorski and brother Norbert. The Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, March 18, 2002 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Newaygo with Fr. Loc Trinh as Celebrant. Interment in St. Bartholomew cemetery in Newaygo. CHAMBERS, ELIJAH, was the son of the late Louis Chambers, Sr. and Rebecca Henderson Chambers and was born in Leon County Tallahassee, Florida on June 18, 1947. He lived in the state of Michigan for several years. There he was employed with the School of Education for 23 years until returning to Tallahassee in 1996. He leaves to cherish his memory: His wife, Mrs. Carol Chambers; a devoted friend, Ms. Shirley Taylor; and children, Jamal Chambers, Elijah Chambers Jr., Antonio Chambers, Bobby Chambers, Damasia Chambers and Angela Woods.
