ELDER, BRUCE E., Passed into the spiritual world on August 24, 1999 while suffering an illness. Bruce raised his family in Royal Oak for 25 years before building a home in Rochester, MI in 1985. Bruce was born to Vance & Doris Elder on October 26, 1929 in Detroit, MI. He graduated from -- The Academy of the New Church High School in Bryn Athyn, PA and from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. He also served as a Corporal in the US Army. Bruce was an active member of the Oak Arbor Church of the New Jerusalem in Rochester, MI. Past member of the Red Run Country Club and a Director for the Casket Manufacturers Association of America. Bruce is survived by his wife, Suzanne, their seven sons: Jack of Rochester, MI, Gary of Clemson, SC, Mark of Richmond, IN, Kent of Rochester, MI, Todd of Rochester, MI, Alan of Bryn Athyn, PA, Paul of Oxford, MI, one daughter, Rebecca, of Rochester, MI, and 24 grandchildren. Bruce Elder cared deeply about people and helping them to achieve their personal dreams. His Lord, church, country, family and friends were always foremost in his thoughts. He was President of Elder Group, Inc., of Rochester, MI and a director of The York Group, Inc. of Houston, TX and a founder of many other businesses in various industries. Dearest to Bruce were the people; he loved to see new ideas take root and grow to help others. Funeral arrangements handled by the Voorhees, Siple, & Summerford Funeral Home, (248) 332-8378. BERGSTROM, MELVIN A., 71, of Novi, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2000 at his summer home in Aura, MI. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Finnish Cultural Center of Farmington Hills. CORRIGAN, JAMES, 59, of Charlevoix and formerly of the Detroit/ Flint area. Died Thursday, August 24, 2000, at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey, MI. James was born on July 29, 1941 in Glasgow, Scotland, the son of John and Hannah (Chambers) Corrigan. In 1952 his family moved from Scotland to the Detroit area. He received a Master s Degree in Fine Arts from Wayne State University. During his career he worked as a dancer at Arthur Murray Dance Studio, The Meadowbrook Theater and Hilbery Theater.
