SCALES, MARY ELL (Minnis) January 9, 1998, age 85. Beloved wife and companion of Jack B. Scales for 58 wonderful years. A life long resident of Pontiac, she is also survived by her sister-in-law Margaret S. Warren of Pontiac; nieces Sally Ochsner (Warren) of Morrison, Colorado, Margaret, "Peggy", Van Hull (Warren) of Waterford, nephews Howard and Roger Warren of West Bloomfield, and their families, to whom she was affectionately known as Aunt De De. Mary Ell was a statistical typist, spending 8 years at General Motors Truck, (Service Engineering), and 18 years at Pontiac Motor Div. (Organization and Analysis), retiring in 1972. There was no funeral ceremony and cremation was by The Cremation Society of Michigan. Her spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved her.

CALLEWAERT, MARCEL A. 92, of Marysville, died Monday, January 11, 1999. Mr. Callewaert was born May 11, 1906 in Stalihille, Belgium. He married Mary T. Lams on August 22, 1934, she died June 28, 1987. He is survived by two sons, Dr. and Mrs. Denis (Karen) Callewaert of Oxford; Mr. and Mrs. Albert (Tina) Callewaert of Clinton Township; and a daughter-in-law, Marlene Store of Rochester Hills; three grandchildren, Angela, Amy and Megan, a brother, George Callewaert of Utica, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Augusta Arnold of Carsonville, a brother-in-law, George Lams of Warren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerome. Visitation will be Thursday, January 14, 1999 from 2 p.m.-9 p.m. in the Marysville Funeral Home. DRAPER, HAROLD A., Of Grand Blanc, age 79, died Monday, January 11, 1999 at Genesys Health Park. Mr. Draper was Attorney for the City of Davison, Assistant Prosecutor for Genesee County, practicing for 50 years. He was a member of the Genesee County Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, Michigan Senior Lawyers Committee, Fellow of American Bar Association, Vice Chairperson Technology and Economics in Planning and Probate, American College of Probate Council, Past Chairperson Probate Section of the State Bar of Michigan, Past Chairperson Legal Economics Section of the State Bar of Michigan, American Judicature Society, Tax Court of the United States, American Bar Association, Past Member Internal Academy of Estate and Trust Law. He received Paul Harris Fellow (Rotary Award for community work), Michael W. Irish Award (1997) (outstanding contributions to estate planning profession and to community), Institute of Continuing Legal Education Service Award. Mr. Draper was Editor of Probate Administration in Michigan: A Systems Approach.
