SAFRAN, REV. JOHN, Age 91, of clifford, MI died Tuesday, January 11, 2000 at the Huron Memorial Hospital in Bad Axe, MI. He was born on April 21, 1908 in Cleveland, OH son to the late Lucas and Veronica 9Basler) Safran. He graduated from Detroit Cass Technical High School and then pursued a law degree at the Detroit Colelge of Law. He was admitted to the bar in 1931. AS an attorney he was influenctial in the labor moment being one of the first tow labo attorneys in the state. He married jeannete Belle Secker December 5, 1936 in Donnra, PA. HE dediced to enter the ministryand attended garrett Theological Seminary in Chicago, graduating in 1945. He then served at a Methodist Chruch from 1945 to 1960. He later served te Chinese Community Church in Detroit for 27 years. AFter moving to the

SINCLAIR, EILEEN, Age 93, former Detroit resident, died January 7, 2000 in Midland. She was born on September 20, 1906 in Port Huron, daughter of the late Orion and Ella (Eby) Teeple. She married Mack Sinclair on February 26, 1937. Her wishes were to be cremated and be buried next to her husband. A funeral service will take place at Acacia cemetery in Oakland County later in the spring. STEWART, JAMES, age 65, passed away January 10, 2000. He served in the Korean War. He moved to South Lyon in 1976. He retired from Hydramatic-GM, and was a former Middle School Counselor in Taylor. He was an ordained Deacon in the Methodist Church and a Park Chaplain at Lake Chemung. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of South Lyon, South Lyon Area Community Counts and a Senior Representative of the Senior Center. James enjoyed woodworking, stain glass, travel, and snorkeling. James was the beloved husband of Sandy Stewart of South Lyon, loving father of Todd James Russell Stewart of VA and Kimberly Ann (David) Ascher of South Lyon, brother of Kenneth C. Stewart, Dorothy Chalmers and Eleanor Mazorowicz. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Goldie Stewart, and brothers Norman and Lawrence Stewart. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, January 15 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. A Memorial Service will follow at 11 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church of South Lyon. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 640 S. Lafayette, South Lyon, MI 48178.
