GIBNEY, RUTH MARY, Ann Arbor, MI. Age 72, passed away Sunday, February 1, 1998 in Ann Arbor. Born June 27, 1925 in Highland Park, MI the daughter of Earl and Leota (Uptegraff) Potter, Mrs. Gibney was a long-time resident of Birmingham, MI. She attended Mary Washington College at the University of Virginia. She was active in the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America and the Scottish Terrier Club of Michigan. A member of he First Presbyterian Church of Birmingham, she was also an avid supporter of civil war historic preservation projects. She was preceeded in death by her husband Abbott, in 1986. She is survived by daughter, Jean Gibney; son John Gibney; Granddaughters Melissa and Jessica and by dear friend Sandra Barth. Memorial services will be held at the First Congregational Church of Ann Arbor on Friday, February 6, 1998 at noon. Officiating is Rev. Robert Livingston.
