CURRIER, DONALD FRANCIS Age 86, of Overland Park, Kansas, died at home March 3, 2002. Born November 9, 1915 in Saulte Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. Mr. Currier lived most of his life in the Detroit area where he worked in the lumber business for over forty years. He held executive positions including president with Currier Lumber Company. A 1938 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, he was a loyal fan of the "Fighting Irish". He also attended Sacred Heart Seminary for several years. He was a long-time parishioner and member of the mens choir of St. Paul's Church, Grosse Pointe Farms. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Mary Jane Currier. He is survived by his son Patrick George Currier of Overland Park, KS; granddaughters Christine Tinder of Gig Harbor, WA and Anne Fruci of Spokane, WA; three great-grandchildren Alex, Andrew and Christina Fruci; sisters Colette Walsh of Beverly Hills, MI and Clare Schneider of Troy, MI; brother Desmond Currier of Charlevoix, MI and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Mass will be 10 a.m., March 16th at St. Paul's Church, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI. Burial St. Paul's Church. Memorial contributions to Right to Life of Michigan. DANA, RICHARD H., Age 92 of Clare. passed away Mar. 11, 2002 in Clare. The son of Charles and Lilly (Geisinger) Dana. He married Mary Sineni in 1961, and she predeceased him in 1986. Richard had lived in Clare since coming from Brighton in 1990. He had worked for Detroit Edison as a Pipefitter. GORTNEY, GERALD W., Age 70 of Leoni Township, formerly of Plymouth, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2002. He was born December 16, 1931 the son of Justin and Marybell (Tucker) Gortney. Gerald was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955. He is survived by his wife of 16 years Cynthia; daughters Cynthia Owens, Wendy Gortney both of Plymouth and Melissa (Patrick) Stayer of TX; stepsons Donald and Robert Warfield of Leoni Township and Mark (Sylvia) Warfield of Irish Hills, MI; grandchildren Tyler and Kaeli Stayer and Drew and Kyle Owens; step grandchildren Mark, Robert, Michael, Joshua and Shayna Warfield; sisters Annette, Judy and Sue; several nieces and nephews.
