POZNIAK, RAYMOND J., Lansing. Age 69, passed away on April 22, 2000 after a long illness. Raymond "Ray" was born in Detroit, May 24, 1930, the son of Casimir and Mary Pozniak. He was a graduate of Wilburwright High School, he enlisted in the Navy, earned the rank of Chief Petty Officer and the respect of his superiors, peers, and subordinates. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, he returned to civilian life thereafter, worked several years at "Control Engineering" in Detroit, then twenty-eight years with the Detroit Free Press until health forced his retirement in 1992. Services will be held Saturday, April 29, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at Glendale cemetery. Ray s friends, Co-workers, and Co-Veterans are welcome to attend. He is survived by: daughter, Patricia; son-in-law, Joseph; ex-wife, Marie; daughter, Trudi; adopted son, John; brother, George; aunts, Annie, Helen, Mary, and Lottie; uncle, Harry, numerous cousins, and many that will miss his calming voice, sense of humor, kindness, and caring charm that was taken away to soon.
