POZNIAK, RAYMOND J., Lansing. Age 69, passed away on April 22, 2000 after a long illness. Raymond "Ray" was born in Detroit, May 24, 1930, the son of Casimir and Mary Pozniak. He was a graduate of Wilburwright High School, he enlisted in the Navy, earned the rank of Chief Petty Officer and the respect of his superiors, peers, and subordinates. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, he returned to civilian life thereafter, worked several years at "Control Engineering" in Detroit, then twenty-eight years with the Detroit Free Press until health forced his retirement in 1992. Services will be held Saturday, April 29, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at Glendale cemetery. Ray s friends, Co-workers, and Co-Veterans are welcome to attend. He is survived by: daughter, Patricia; son-in-law, Joseph; ex-wife, Marie; daughter, Trudi; adopted son, John; brother, George; aunts, Annie, Helen, Mary, and Lottie; uncle, Harry, numerous cousins, and many that will miss his calming voice, sense of humor, kindness, and caring charm that was taken away to soon. RADAK, WILLIAM PETER, Age 84 of Jekyll Island, GA, and formerly of Melvindale, MI, died Sunday, April 23, 2000. Mr. Radak retired from Ford Motor Company. He was a former Mayor and Councilman of Melvindale and was a former member of the Rackham Choir. Surviving are his wife, Muriel L. Hadcock, five stepchildren, five stepgrandchildren.
