HALL, RANSOM PALMER, 83 of 927 Knollwood Village Southern Pines, NC died Sunday evening at the First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst NC. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 pm Thursday at St. Luke United Methodist Church by Rev. Judy Drye and Rev. Beth Hood. Burial will follow at Buffalo cemetery. Mr. Hall was born in Boston, MA, and was a US Coast Guard Veteran of WWII, serving the American Theatre and The Asiatic Pacific Theatre. He was 1939 graduate of the University of Southern California, where he is in the Gynmastic Hall of Fame. Also in 1939 he won the National Gymnastic Championship on the Rings in Chicago. He was a 32nd Degree he moved to Carolina Trace and was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. Mr. Hall is survived by his wife Betty Cole Fasick Hall of Southern Pines; one son Bradford P. Hall of Canton, OH, four step-daughters Nancy O. Liner of Alexandria VA, Sally O. Decker of Dallas, Texas, Peggy O. Smith of Columbus OH, Kim Fasick Jordan of Cameron NC; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Wednesday at Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home.

KOWALCZYK, ROBERT, October 28, 1998, of Birmingham. Robert was a well-known floral designer and display artist in the Detroit area for many years. LEVBARG, JAMES JESSE Age 87 of 2616 Erwin Road. Died Wednesday at the Coble Health Care Center. Mr. Levbarg earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Economics from the City College of New York and took up farming for 16 years. He earned his Masters in Religious Education from Hebrew Union College. His 50 year career of leadership, scholarship and teaching in the Reform Jewish movement touched the lives of thousands. He established Hebrew Union College satellite schools for teacher certification in New Jersey, Michigan and Pennsylvania. He served on the Rabbinical Pension Board for 33 years. He also served on the Camp Commission for the Union of American Hebrew Congregations. Mr. Levbarg was a founding member of the National Association of Temple Educators, an organization for which he later served as President and as Executive Secretary. His warm good humor and joy of living will be sorely missed. Surviving are his wife of 60 years Judith B. Levbarg of the home; daughter Teme Levbarg of Chapel Hill, NC; son Mark and his wife Rosanne Levbarg of Austin, TX; brother Norman Levbarg of Lakewood, NJ; grandchildren Rebecca Rose Reice of Chapel Hill, NC, Hannah Levbarg, Sean Duggan, Jennifer and Dara Teibel, all of Austin, TX.
