TAGETT, BARBARA ANN, Plainwell, MI. Barb was born on October 3, 1933. She grew up and graduated from high school in Toledo, Ohio, then received a Bachelor's Degree from Ohio State University and an RN Degree from Case Western Reserve. On January 4, 1958, she married John P. Tagett in Cleveland. After their studies, Barb and John moved to the Detroit area and lived for about twenty years in Grosse Ile. During this time, Barb raised four children, and was active in the community; traveling with the bell choir of the Presbyterian Church, and participating in the PTA, Scouts and fund raising activities. Although her passion was being a homemaker and mother, Barb went back to nursing when her children moved away. She chose geriatric care and many of her elderly patients considered has as a mother. In 1985 John moved his medical practice to Grand Rapids where they settled for seven years and then on to Mason City, Iowa for five years. After John's retirement, they moved back to West Michigan to be near the family and built a home in the forest on the outskirts of Plainwell. Recently Barb joined the PEO Chapter in Plainwell. An unassuming, quiet person, Barb was a listener that people often confided in. She gave love naturally and unselfishly and by her example taught her family to love. Barb enjoyed nature, flower gardening and especially raising roses. Besides her husband John, her family includes their children, Mark Tagett and his wife Janet of Portage, Matt Tagett and his fiance Mary Williams of Eugene, Oregon, Becky Tagett and her husband Thierry Martin of Marseille, France, and Michael Tagett and his wife Jenny of Grand Rapids, as well as five grandchildren.
