NEEDHAM, MARY ELIZABETH (Topsy Peduzzi) Peacefully at Rivergate Convalescent Center on March 15, 2002. Mary was ushered into the presence of the Lord by his holy angels at the age of 86 years. Mary is predeceased by her mother Cecilia Peduzzi, father Ben Vlah Willig, brother Rodolph B., sister Z. Cathrine and daughter Rebecca, and beloved friend Joseph Skendrovic. She is survived by her brother Ben E. Willig, sister Lenora, children Oliver (Merrilee), and Sally Jo (Harry), 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and cousins Eugene and Audrey with whom she was raised and who are deeply loved by her and her children. Mary was born in Trafford, PA on March 12, 1916. Mary was a wonderful mother and a hard worker. During the II World War she supported her children by providing child care, home care for the sick, washing walls, baking bread, and ironing clothes. A career path that she used to sustain her family and herself throughout her life. Mary was an extremely patriotic woman who on several occasions in both PA and MI received recognition from the local press for decorations showing her love for America. Mary loved children and she loved parties. Every year she arranged family/neighborhood parties in her home, a custom so popular that after the children married those families and their children continued to attend. She had a large network of friends who she provided help and assistance to during tough times and who reciprocated when times were tough for her. During her life she provided a home and shelter for many children and to women who needed a chance to restart their lives. Mary will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren, friends and all those whose lives she touched so deeply. Visitation Monday 2-4:30 with memorial service at 4:30 at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 25450 Plymouth Rd., Redford, MI.
