ANDERSON, CATHERINE, 86, of Midland, died Saturday, April 7, 2001 at her home. She was born December 27, 1914 in Reeley, Maryland, daughter of the late Benjamin and Rose (Cummings) Arnold. She worked for General Motors for 18 years, and came to Midland in 1995. She made Midland her home, and appreciated the many kindness those in the Midland community shared with her. She is survived by her daughter, Saundra (Ronald) Murphy of Sanford; sister, Lillian Taggie of Ann Arbor; grandchildren, Ronald (Bridget) Murphy of Sanford, Suzanne (Keith) Ruff of Madison Heights, and Brian Murphy of Bloomfield Hills; and by six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Anderson. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday from the WARE-SMITH-WOOLEVER FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1200 West Wheeler Street in Midland with a 2:00 p.m. committal service at White Chapel cemetery in Troy. Mrs. Anderson s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 p.m.

FITZGERALD, ARLINE BESCH 88 died on Friday, April 6, 2001 in Bayonet Point, Florida. Private services were held in Florida for the former Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan resident. Born in Cleveland, Ohio Mrs. Fitzgerald was active in swimming at Turners Club and worked for the East Ohio Gas CO. Moving to Detroit in 1943, Mrs. Fitzgerald founded the Argus supply co., Roseville, MI with her late husband. After her retirement in 1985 she remained as Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors. She enjoyed crafting articles of silver and copper for family and friends. She was a member of the Bayview Yacht Club in Detroit. Her husband James Philip Fitzgerald, a brother, Arthur F. Besch, and a sister, Jean B. Dever, predeceased her. She is survived by a son, James a Fitzgerald of Grosse Pointe, four grandchildren Evan R. Collins III, Elizabeth C. Burnette, Elizabeth A. Fitzgerald, and James R.S. Fitzgerald, and 4 great granddaughters. Memorial contributions may be made to Hernando pasco Hospice, 12107 Majestic Blvd., Hudson, Fl. 34467. JACOBS, TED, 84, of Midland, died Sunday, April 8, 2001. He was born July 25, 1916 in Detroit. He married Helen (Miksell) Condon in 1961. He worked for the Ford Motor Corporation. Ted retired from the Ford Utica plant in 1974, and moved to Midland. He is survived by his wife, Helen; two stepchildren, Bill (Sheryl) Condon of New Baltimore, Barbara (Hank) Potrykus of Grosse Ile; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Larry Jacobs in 1992, and by eight brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday the 12th from the WARE-SMITH-WOOLEVER FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1200 West Wheeler Street in Midland. Ted s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
