GRAY, RUBY G. (Nelson) Age 78, of Fenton, died Saturday, March 6, 1999 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Pontiac. Services were held March 10, 1999 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Those desiring may make contributions to Catholic Outreach Services, Fenton, or the Hospice of one's choice. Ruby was born December 22, 1920 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Ben and Anna (Larson) Nelson. She married R.D. Gray in 1954 in Detroit and he preceded her in death on December 5, 1994. Mrs. Gray had lived in Fenton since August, 1998, coming from Cadiz, KY. She was a life member and past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #2504, Northville, MI, life member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW #7890, Cadix, KY and member of the American Legion Auxiliary #116, Princeton, KY. Surviving are son, Gerald and wife Sharon Colton of Poplar, WI; daughter, Diana and husband Bob Beckemeyer of Fenton; 12 grandchildren, Ric Steven, Robaleen and husband Michael Bogden, LuAnn Hunter, Jeff and wife Dawn Crumley, Tammy Colton, Robert Beckemeyer, Diana McNew, Jerry and wife Shelly Crumley, Deborah and husband Bryan McIntyre, Dennis Beckemeyer, Raymond Beckemeyer, Rochelle Beckemeyer; 14 great- grandchildren, Stacy, Phillip, Eric, Jessica, Robert, Kelsey, Alexandra, Erik, Justin, Jeremy, Candice, Hailey, Joshua, Bradley; great-great-grandchild, Darrian Harrison; brother, Richard and wife Shirley Nelson of Mission, TX. LOVERDE, ALICE, March 9, age 86, of respiratory failure at Bon Secours Hospital. Born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and argued till her death that she was still a British citizen. Beloved wife of the late Sam Loverde. Dear mother of Joan (Tony) Sciturro and Linda (Jack) Buffo. Beloved grandmother of Rena Sciturro Wilson, Jana Goldstein, Nicole Buffo Scott and great-grandmother of Kelly Horrigan and Erin Brick-Goldstein. Dear sister of Altina Giulioni, Ida Curtale, Lucy Driskill, Monty DiMarzo and Edmund DiMarzo. Alice worked for Ford Motor Company for many years doing one of the hardest sewing jobs, welt cording on car upholstery. Her handiwork included sewing, crocheting, upholstering furniture, hat making, cake decorating and one of her favorites was dressing dolls for the Goodfellows for many years. She won prizes at both Ford motor Company and Parke Davis & Company for the beautiful costumes she designed. She made the best meatballs and spaghetti in town. She loved playing cards and winning and many a time we had to drag her away from the slot machines after 8 to 10 hours but only if the casino put up an out of order sign. She was a much loved woman. She will be greatly missed. Resting at the Sterling Heights Chapel of the Frank J. Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 E. 15 Mile Road (at Schoenherr) Friday 3-9 p.m. and in state Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at St. Germaine Church at Martin Road and Little Mack until 10:00 a.m. Mass.
