CARDEN, FIELDON M. Jr. "Tiger" formerly of Detroit and St. Clair Shores, died peacefully Tuesday, January 16 in Traverse City. Born on October 21, 1918 in Manchester, TN, he was the son of Fieldon M. Carden and Bertha Sue (Zook) Carden. On November 3, 1941 he was united in marriage to Nancy Louise McBride (now Wolpe), of Cleveland, OH at the Methodist Christ in Manchester, TN. He was a former owner with his brother Robert of Jewell Photo Co. of Detroit and St. Clair Shores. He always loved the family business. Fieldy was an avid fisherman. His muskie and walleye catches on Lake St. Clair and the Detroit River are legendary. Tiger cherished his boat, "Sweet Thang, " the Lake, and his buddies at Tommy's Marina. Fieldy is survived by his son, Fieldon M. (Sandra) Carden III of Suttons Bay, and his grandchildren, Jesse Carden of Marquette, MI and Sarah G. Carden of Seattle, WA. He is also survived by his daughter Margaret A. Carden (Glenn Groustra) of Ann Arbor, his sister Sara Beth "Sally" (Donald) Crampton of Sarasota, FL, brother Robert C. (Arden) Carden of St. Clair Shores, and his beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Linda (William) Townsend of Centerville, OH. There will be no services at this time. A family gathering to honor his memory will be held this summer in the Detroit area. Arrangements by Martinson Funeral Home, Suttons Bay, Michigan.
