GIANNASI, RAOUL L. (Lou) Giannasi, 66, of 185 Sena Court, died March 23, 1998. A native of Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Louis Roger and Katherine Marie Stalc Giannasi. He was a former professional musician and public school teacher. He was a retired real estate broker and a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. He had attended the Catholic Center at the University of Georgia. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 26, 1998 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens East, Athens, GA.Father Steven Pavignano will officiate. Interment will be in Athens Memory Gardens. Survivors include his brother and sister in law, David E. and Jean Giannasi of Athens; and two nieces, Claire and Elise Giannasi, both of Athens. The family will receive friends Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. SLOCUM, JOHN L., Of Rochester. March 23, 1998. Age 77. survived by Mary Lee Slocum. Mr. Slocum was born August 9, 1920 in Detroit. He was a Tool and Die Maker and owned the L & S Plastic Co. in Auburn Hills. He was a member of the National Aircrafters Association and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy, having served in WWII. Mr. Slocum was a member of the Governor s Club and lifetime member of Cranbrook Institute of Science and was a member of the M.M.S. Michigan Mineralogical Society. Mr. Slocum was known around the world for the Step Beyond Opal, a man-made opal which he introduced in 1967. He also produced lucite imbediments for The Winston 500 and dignitaries around the world. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 26, 1998 at 11 a.m. at the Potere-Modetz Funeral Home, 339 Walnut Blvd., Rochester. Officiating Reverend Barbara Handelsman. ALEXANDER, JOHN E. III Age 50, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Dearborn, passed away suddenly March 23, 1999. He was a former student at Dearborn High School, Wayne State University. He was veteran of the United States Armed Services. He was presently with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was involved with Paws with a Cause and Meals on Wheels. He is survived by his parents, Jack & Faymarian Alexander, sister Kathleen (Robert) Mermuys, niece and nephew Carrie and Michael Mermuys, Uncle and Aunt Dr. Lawrence V. Tremper, cousin Michele Tremper (G.L.) Brown, niece and nephew Kristin (Tim) Smith and Patrick Tremper Brown. A Graveside service will be held Friday at 12:30 PM at Acacia Park cemetery in Detroit. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Paws with a Cause or Meals on Wheels. The family will greet friends on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Service, 4291 Cascade Rd. S.E. at Kenmoor, E. of I-96.

BEAL, JEAN FAIRBANK, of Rochester Hills, formerly of Dearborn. Age 80. passed away on March 9, 1999. Dear mother of Ann Louise Beal of Dearborn, Richard (Jane) Beal of Ada and Peter (Donna) Beal of Nebraska. Grandmother of Erin, Matthew, Nathen, Kathryn and Elizabeth. Beloved sister of Richard (Betty) Fairbank. Preceded in death by her sister Alberta Thomas. Also survived by her former husband Leland Beal. Mrs. Beal majored in Speech and Journalism at Michigan State University and was vice president of the 1940 graduating class. She was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority and active in drama and radio productions. During her professional life she edited publications for the Maccabees Insurance Co. and conducted speech therapy at Wayne State University. She taught Sunday School and raised her children to lead Christian lives. Memorial service Saturday, March 27, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at the Harold R. Davis Funeral Home, Auburn Hills.

BELLMAN, KATHLEEN A. (VanDOORNE) March 22, 1999, age 37, suddenly, of Lincoln Park.
