Clement G. Sellner, 80, of rural Sleepy Eye, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005 at his farm in Albin Township, near Sleepy Eye.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye. The clergy will be Father John Richter. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Monday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. E-mail condolences may be sent to the family via www.sturmfh.com.
Clement was born on Nov. 29, 1924 in Albin Township to Christopher and Marianna (Schloegl) Sellner. He attended rural school and St. Mary's School in Sleepy Eye. He married Dorothy Juenemann on Oct. 27, 1947 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Clements. He was a member of CAA for over 50 years and a lifelong member of St. Mary's Church in Sleepy Eye. Besides farming his whole life, he also enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing tuba in the "Sellner Band", being with his family, going to auctions and fixing on machinery, and his dog, Scooter.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Sleepy Eye; nine children; Richard (Karen) of Sleepy Eye, Linus (Judy) of St. James, Adelle (Delbert, Jr.) Fischer of New Ulm, Gerald P. of Sleepy Eye, Annette (David) Dressel of Hutchinson, Suzanne (Clem) Windschitl of Sleepy Eye, Robert M. (Barbara) of Sleepy Eye, Jean (Steve) Bruggeman of St. Cloud, Janelle (Gary) Richter of Comfrey; 34 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Clara Schroepfer of Sleepy Eye, Angeline Weber of New Ulm and Anna Hacker of Lafayette; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Harold Johnson of Madelia, Florence Sellner of Sleepy Eye, Gilbert Hoehn of Kalispell, MT, Richard and Herbert Juenemann of Sanborn, Denis and Pat Juenemann of Springfield, Bennett and Shirley Juenemann of Sanborn, Bernice Goblirsch of Morgan and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William, Albert, Christopher, Edmund, Florian, and Leonard; sisters, Mary, Amelia, Catherine, Mathilda, Martha and Bertha, and an infant granddaughter.

Marvin 'Marv' Brand, 64, formerly of New Ulm died Thursday, January 6, 2005 at the Franklin Health Care Center in Franklin. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be conducted at the Cemetery by the New Ulm Veteran's Organizations. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Monday and from 7:30 - 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The St. Joseph's Catholic Aid Council will pray the rosary at 6:00 p.m. and there will be a parish prayer service at 7:00 p.m. both Monday at the Funeral Home.

Marvin 'Marv' Brand, 64, formerly of New Ulm died Thursday, January 6, 2005 at the Franklin Health Care Center in Franklin. Marv is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis Schmitz, Marlys Drill, Joleen and Warren Jorgensen all of New Ulm, LaDonna Kissner, Doris and Wesley Guemmer all of St. Cloud; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Myrtle Brand, David Brand, Robert and Lucille Brand all of New Ulm; Brothers-in-law, Cole Carley of Fargo, North Dakota, Jim Krueggel of Winthrop.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Diane Carley and Carol Krueggel; and brothers, Lowell Brand, Gerald Brand, Curtis Brand and Kenneth Brand.
Marvin Joseph Brand was born on August 13, 1940 in New Ulm to Joseph and Sophia (Kuehn) Brand. He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1959.
From 1963 to 1964 he served in the U.S. Army. Marvin had worked as a bookkeeper at Wallner's Construction and at Lubbert's Construction and later worked for Brand's Handy Dandy Refuse Service. He was a very active member of Cathedral and had served as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. Marv was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm; the St. Joseph's Catholic Aid Council, and the American Legion Post #132 in New Ulm.

Lynette (Loni) Evelyn Larson, daughter of Leonard and Pearl (Jenkins) Larson, was born January 21, 1948 in Worthington, MN. She married Glen Miller in Madelia, MN on November 26, 1964 and raised her family in Lake Crystal, MN.
Lynette was a "Domestic Engineer" for over 20 years and won many awards for her incredible service in the field of Motherhood. (She had a "trophy case" to prove it.) Loni married Marlin Knaak in June of 1991. In August of 1993, Loni graduated with honors from Mankato State University with degrees in Corrections and Sociology. She worked at the Brown County Jail as a Corrections Officer until 2000 when she began working for the Brown County Probation Department as a Victim/Offender Mediator.
Lynette was happiest when she was helping other people, whether it was her family, friends, co-workers, or clients. Even though Loni didn't live a long life, she made a big difference in many peoples' lives. Loni also loved her dogs; Sophie, Samantha, and Sebastian. She enjoyed "spoiling" her grandchildren, embroidery, watching scary movies and reading.
Lynette (Loni) Larson died on Thursday, January 6, 2005 at Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
She is survived by three daughters, Tamie Urberg and husband John of Eau Claire, WI, Debra Ekstrand and husband John of New Ulm, Wendy Zehm and husband Chris of Madelia; one son Rick Miller and wife Brandi of Mankato; two sisters, Dianne Firchau of Lewisville and Paulette Larson of St. Cloud; one sister-in-law, Vicky Larson of Windom; seven grandchildren who called her "gramie"; eight nieces and 11 nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Duane Larson.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia.

George Eckstein, 75, of Sleepy Eye, died Jan. 4, 2005, in Mesa, Arizona.
Services are pending on Jan. 22 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye.

Arlis Walton-Kettner, of Springfield, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Arrangements are pending with Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.

Rudolph Anderson, 94, of Morgan, formerly of Springfield, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at New Ulm Medical Center Hospital.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
The Redwood Valley Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Jerry 'Jerr' Berdan, of Greenfield.
A very much loved husband, dad, brother, son and friend died suddenly on Sunday afternoon.
Preceded in death by father, Richard Berdan and grandparents, Ferdinand & Sophie Berdan and Christian & Gertrude Moelter.
He is survived by wife, Jayna; daughters, Allyson (17), Korissa (16) and Allissa (14); mother, Lucille Berdan; siblings, Ron (Mary) Berdan, Carol (Jim) Prokosch, Dave (Penny) Berdan, Joyce (Lynn) Krenz, Diane (Wes) Dodson, Brian (Lisa) Berdan and Denis (Lisa) Berdan; 25 nieces and nephews and many other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral service Thursday Jan. 13, at 11 a.m. at Our Father's Lutheran Church, 3903 Gilbert Ave SE, Rockford.
Visitation is Wednesday, Jan. 12, 5-8 p.m. at Gearty-Delmore Chapel of Plymouth, 37th Ave N & Vicksburg Ln and one hour prior to service at church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.

Carl J. Boettger, 90, of New Ulm, died Monday, January 10, 2005, at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 13, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with Father John A. Richter officiating. Burial will be in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery with full military honors being conducted by the New Ulm veterans organizations.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m., Wednesday and 7:30 - 10 a.m., Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
Carl is survived by his wife, Lauretta Boettger, a resident of the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm; daughters and son-in-law, Carla and Lyle Lindquist of Brooklyn Park, Karen Boettger of New Ulm; sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Jean Boettger of Eden Prairie, Jeff and Sue Boettger of Circle Pines; five grandchildren; a sister, Veronica Forstner of New Ulm; and a sister-in-law, Aurelia Boettger of New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and four sisters.
Carl John Boettger was born August 19, 1914, in Sigel Township, Brown County, to Henry and Caroline (Tauer) Boettger. He served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII from 1942 to 1945. He served with the 22nd Marines, 6th Division in the South Pacific. He married Lauretta Janni on November 29, 1945, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. After marriage he worked various jobs in New Ulm, working the last 32 years at Borden's until he retired in 1978. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm and a lifetime member of the Seifert-Bianchi American Legion Post #132 in New Ulm.

Millie Clark, 80, of Hector, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at her son's home in Arkansas.
Funeral service is 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 12, at the First Lutheran Church in Hector. Burial will be in the Hector City Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at noon on Wednesday at the church.
Hughes Funeral Home handled arrangements.
She is survived by her sons, Dennis Clark Prairie Grove, Arkansas, Dale Clark of Hector, and Dan Clark of Waconia; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brother Myron Schroeder of Fairfax.
She was born May 24, 1924, in Wellington Township, Renville County, Minn., to Max and Hulda (Dallman) Schroeder.

Martin H. Jahr, 91, of Arlington, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, at Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
Services are 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 13, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Arlington. Burial will be in the Arlington Public Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, at Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington; and one hour before the service Thursday at the church.
He is survived by sons, Roger Jahr of Arlington, Elden Winter of Darwin; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
He was born Feb. 28, 1913, in Arlington Township to Henry and Amelia (Abraham) Jahr.

Marjorie Previtt, 72, of DeSmet and formerly of New Ulm,, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, at DeSmet Memorial Hospital in DeSmet, S.D.
Services are 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 13, at the American Lutheran Church in DeSmet. Burial will be at a later date.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, at Osthus Funeral Home in DeSmet.

Arlis L. Walton-Kettner, 67, of Springfield, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 12, at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Springfield with burial at Springfield City Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday, Jan. 11 from 4 -8 p.m. and Wednesday, Jan. 12 from 7:30-8:30 a.m. at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, and continues for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
She is survived by husband Arthur of Springfield; daughters, Vikki Morford of St. Cloud, Rhonda Ludewig of Springfield; sons, Scott Walton of Mitchell, S.D., Douglas Walton of Springfield; stepson Kevin Kettner of Springfield; sisters, Leona Richmond of Ivanhoe, and Dorothy 'Babe' Kennedy of Fairmont; brothers, Orm Steffen of Baudette, Jack of Mankato, and Robert 'Bob' Steffen of Ogilvie; 12 grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
She was born August 26, 1937, in Estherville, Iowa, to Henry and Sophia (Broderson) Steffen.

Lillian Essler, 69, of Winthrop, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at her home in Winthrop.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 14, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Winthrop. Burial will be in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Friday at Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the time of services at the church on Friday. The rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m., and there will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m., Thursday at the funeral chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.

Melvin Schroepfer, 72, of 711 N. Jefferson St., New Ulm, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, at the St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Burial will be in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The St. Joseph's Catholic Aid Council and the St. Patrick's Council of the Knights of Columbus will pray a combined rosary at 6 p.m., and there will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m., both Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity or the Way of the Cross.
