Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church in Hector, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Hughes Funeral Home in Hector, a prayer service at 7 p.m., and one hour prior to mass at the church Monday.
She was born Sept. 30, 1931, near Wabasso in Redwood County, to Joseph and Gertrude (Gores) Schunk.
She is survived by her husband Ray of Hector; children, Carol Hovde of Dovray, Stephen of Dubois, Wyo., Michael of Badger, and Nancy Berghuis of Alexandria, seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters: Bernadine Haag of Elko, Rosie Kretsch of Hutchinson, Kathy Dehmlow of Fresno, Calif., and Judy Trebesch of Sanborn.

Doris Palmer, 88, of Redwood Falls, died on Friday, Dec. 17, 2004 at the Seasons Hospice Home in Redwood Falls
Services are 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in Redwood Falls, with burial in Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Monday at Nelson Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and one hour prior to services at the church Tuesday.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin of Redwood Falls; daughters: Nancy Anderson of Sun City, Ariz.; Kay Jensen of Redwood Falls, Jeane Dennistoun of Minneapolis, Patty Rohne of Redwood Falls; sons: Robert S. and Jim, both of Redwood Falls;12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and sister: Gertrude Lund of Canton, S.D.
She was born Jan. 18, 1916, in Winterset, Iowa, to Charles A. and Nellie M. (Hendricks) Gray.

Roger Matz, 66, of Stewartville, fomerly of New Ulm, died on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester.
Arrangements are pending with Minnesota Valley Funeral Home.

Daryl W. Barfknecht, 65, of Winthrop, died at his residence in Winthrop, Minnesota.
A memorial service will be Friday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. at the Dalin-Hantge Chapel in Winthrop.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
He is survived by his daughter Dawn Wolff; son Daren Barfknecht; two grandchildren; brothers: Donald Barfknecht, Demar Barfknecht, Dale Barfknecht, Arlan Barfknecht; and sister Jean Stadtherr.
Daryl W. Barfknecht was born Feb. 6, 1939, in Winthrop, Minn., to Walter and Esther Barfknecht.
He served in the United States Army from 1961 until 1963.

Ruby Marie Dittbenner, 90, of Sleepy Eye, died on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at Countryside Apartments.
Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye on Thursday, Dec 30, from 4 to 8 p.m. and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
Service will be held at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church on Friday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. The Clergy will be Pastor Rebecca Krogstad. Interment Prairieville Cemetery in Evan.

Ruby Marie was born on June 22, 1914 in Prairieville Township, Brown County, Minn., the daughter of Edmund and Emma (Hansen) Christensen. She grew up in Eden Township and attended District 18 Country School in Brown County Ruby married Reuben Dittbenner on Feb. 28, 1939 in Evan. They farmed in Eden Township until moving to Sleepy Eye in 1975. She moved to Countryside Apartments in October of 2004. Ruby was a life member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, a member of the Ladies Aid, taught Sunday School and was involved in many church organizations. She delivered meals on wheels and was active with Lutheran Brotherhood. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, knitting and preparing family genealogy.
Survivors include her children: Arlene and Arnold Hinderman of Sleepy Eye, Sharon and Richard Klabunde of Wheeler, WI, Reynold and Vivian Dittbenner of Sleepy Eye, Dennis and Pamela Dittbenner of Sleepy Eye; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; a brother, Russell Christensen of Sleepy Eye; brothers-in-law, Jerroll, Sr. and Carol Dittbenner of Morgan, Armin and Eldora Dittbenner of New Ulm and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Reuben in 1982 and sister-in-law, Phyllis Christensen.

Arline Groebner, 86, of Springfield, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at the Gil-Mor Manor in Morgan.
Arrangements are pending with Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.

Louise (Hallie) Reeves, 64, formerly of Winthrop, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at the Immanuel - St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 3, 2005 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. Burial will be in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m. Sunday and from 7:30 - 11 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.

Audrey Stancer, 92, of Redwood Falls died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004 at Sunwood Care Center, Redwood Falls.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 4, at First United Methodist Church, Redwood Falls. Burial will be in Morton City Cemetery.
Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service, Redwood Falls.
She is survived by her children, Marvella A. Haas, Redwood Falls; Ronald Stancer, Hastings; nine grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; and sisters, Irma Pratt, Redwood Falls and Althea Freitag, Danube.
She was born Sept. 17, 1912, to Francis and Myrtle (Smith) Rousch.

Donald Thom, 79, of North Mankato, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, at his home of cancer.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 3, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Mankato. Burial will be in Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery, Mankato.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary and continues one hour before services at church on Wednesday.
He is survived by his wife, Orloene of North Mankato; daughter, Janel Rau of Tracy; sons, Kevin Thom, Alan Thom, all of Mankato, Michael Thom of Rochester; stepsons, Larry Fossen of St. Anthony, Mark Fossen of Owatonna, Thomas Fossen of Ocean Springs, Miss.; stepdaughter, Janelle Fossen of Clarksville, Tenn.; sister, Phyllis Olson of Mankato; brother, Wallace Thom of Granite Falls; and 18 grandchildren.
He was born Sept. 6, 1925, in Nicollet to August and Esther (Kettner) Thom.

Hulda J. Adams, 93, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Funeral services are 1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 2, at St. John Lutheran Home Chapel in Springfield.
Visitation starts at noon at the chapel.
Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home of Springfield.
She is survived by her children, John Q. Adams and Gaylord Bruce Adams, both of California; and two grandchildren.
Hulda Adams was born on Feb. 21, 1911, in Three Rivers Township, Redwood County, to August Carl and Ida (Rhode) Raddatz.

Charles F. Dwyer, 25, of 321 S. Franklin Street in New Ulm, died Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, in Linden Township, Brown County.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm with burial at a later date. Father John A. Richter will officiate.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Charles is survived by his wife, Amber Dwyer of New Ulm; daughter, Isis M. Dwyer of New Ulm; mother, Pamela Page and her husband Harold of Mountain View, Missouri; father, Thomas Dwyer and his wife Gina of Grand Rapids; a sister, Jennifer Dwyer and her friend, Aaron Miller both of Seattle, Washington; paternal grandmother, Lois Dwyer of Waterville; and paternal great-grandmother, Myrtle Reed of Morristown.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jan and Eugene "Joe" Oziah; and by his paternal grandfather, Wilfred "Buck" Dwyer.
Charles Fredrick Dwyer was born August 31, 1979, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Thomas and Pamela (Oziah) Dwyer. He attended New Ulm Public Schools. He married Amber L. Schmidt on Oct. 9, 1998, in Mountain View, Missouri. After marriage they lived in New Ulm where he held various jobs in the area, working for Buntjers Cleaning Company in New Ulm most recently. Charles was an artist, actor, and musician. He loved video games, playing guitar, reading and writing novels.

Joe D. Iffert, 89, of Morgan, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at Redwood Area Hospital in Redwood Falls
Visitation is 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 4, with a 6:30 p.m. parish scripture service at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service In Morgan
Services are 11:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 5, at St. Michael's Catholic Church In Morgan, with burial in the church cemetery.
Arrangements are handled by Nelson Martin Funeral Service, Redwood Falls.
He is survived by wife Helen Iffert of Morgan; children, daughter, Eileen Majerus of Pine Island; and son Daniel of Clark, S.D.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother Sylvester Iffert of Seattle; sisters: Freida Wolf of Colorado, Mary Anderson of Minneapolis, Cleopha Zeug of Redwood Falls, Theresa Anderson of Willmar, Odelia Eckhart of Willmar.
He was born Nov. 8, 1914 in Olney, Ill., to Joseph and Cleopha (Schulte) Iffert
He served In the Army during World War II.

Elenor A. Lietz, 86, formerly of Brownton died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at Glencoe Regional Health Services in Glencoe.
Funeral service is 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 4, at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brownton with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 - 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brownton.
Minnesota Valley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Joseph Hanson Lueck, infant son of Sarah Hanson and William Lueck of Hanska, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, at the North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale during childbirth.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Schmucker Funeral Service of Hanska is handling the arrangements.
In addition to his parents, baby Joseph is survived by maternal grandparents, Allen and Nancy Hanson of Hanska; paternal grandparents, Larry and Vivian Berger of Fort Dodge, IA, Otto Lueck, Jr. of Warba; great grandparents, Fay Flett of Fort Dodge, Georgianna Braunworth of Watertown, Merrill and Betty Anderson of Hanska, Marilyn Hanson of Hanska; aunts and uncles, Natalie and Tiffany Hanson of Hanska, Angela and Matthew Berger of Fort Dodge.
He was preceded in death by great-grandfathers, Sylvester Hanson, William Fleet and Otto Lueck, Sr.

Lloyd Meinert, 89, of New Ulm died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m.., Wednesday, Nov. 3, at the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 7:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Wednesday.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of 64 years, Erna Meinert of the Oak Hills Assisted Living in New Ulm; daughters and sons-in-law, Marion and Richard Schapekahm of New Ulm and Dorothy and John Russell of New Ulm; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Rachel Meinert of Tucson, Arizona and Robert and Kathie Meinert of Winnebago; twelve grandchildren; and sixteen great- grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Melva and Leonard Koch of Lamberton; and sisters-in-law, Mrs. Delbert (Violet) Meinert of Springfield and Mrs. Raymond (Hildegard) Meinert of Morgan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mildred Fiebiger; and brothers, Delbert and Raymond "Ray" Meinert.
Lloyd Sylvester Meinert was born on May 12, 1915, in Leavenworth Township, Brown County, to John and Delia (Vollmer) Meinert. On March 26, 1940, he married Erna Koch at the Lutheran Parsonage in Wanda, Minn. He farmed in rural Sleepy Eye until 1960 when they retired from farming and moved to Sleepy Eye in 1963. He was a caretaker for the Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye for three and a half years, was a custodian for the Sleepy Eye Public Schools and Brown County REA until retiring in 1979. They moved to New Ulm in 1993. He was a past member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye and a current member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm.
