Lorna Bode, 84, of Courtland, died Monday, November 8, 2004 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, November 11, 2004, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Courtland with Pastor Wayne Bernau officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Thursday.
Lorna is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth Ann and Dennis Wills of Nicollet, LaVonne and Ronald Dahltorp of Lake Crystal; a son and daughter-in-law, Reuben and Judy Bode of Courtland; a son-in-law, Wayne Luepke and his wife, Kathy, of Courtland; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Mildred Enter of Nicollet, Velora Studtmann and Arline and Harley Wills all of Courtland; brothers and sisters-in-law, Elton and Esther Stolt of New Ulm and Merlin and Dorothy Stolt of Gaylord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ervel Bode on May 19, 2001; a daughter, Laura Luepke; a sister, Ardella Macho; brothers, William Stolt, Jr. and Sylvan Stolt in infancy.
Lorna Stolt, the daughter of William Sr. and Johanna (Hulke) Stolt was born on February 17, 1920, in Nicollet Township, Nicollet County. On September 29, 1938 she was united in marriage to Ervel Bode at the Immanuel Lutheran Church rural Courtland. After marriage they farmed in Courtland Township, Nicollet County until 1970 when they retired and moved into Courtland. While living in Courtland Lorna worked for several years at the Union Hospital in New Ulm.
She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and a past member of the Dorcas Society at church. Since July 31, 2003 Lorna resided at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

Geneva Gilland, 85, of Morgan, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at Gil-Mor Manor in Morgan.
Services are 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 12, at the United Methodist Church in Morgan, with burial in the Morgan City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Thursday, at United Methodist Church in Morgan; and continues one hour before services.
Arrangements are handled by Nelson-Martin Funeral Service, Redwood Falls.
She is survived by sons, Roger of Morgan, Keith of Morgan; seven grandchildren; brother, Russel Bright of Minneapolis; and sister, Ruth Hoerdt of Minneapolis.
She was born July 1, 1919, to H. Alfred and Lillian (Frenz) Bright.

Delmar 'Chick' Huhn, 85, of New Ulm died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at the Sleepy Eye Care Center in Sleepy Eye where he had been a resident since 1997.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, Nov, 12, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Donald Sutton officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday and 7:30-10 a.m. on Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The visitation will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Friday. Full military honors will be conducted at the Cemetery by the New Ulm Veterans Organizations on Friday.
Delmar is survived by his wife, Irma Huhn of New Ulm; daughters and sons-in-law, Carole and Allan Brackee of Amery Wisconsin, Linda Huhn of Minneapolis and her husband, Richard Johnson of Salt Lake City, Utah; Susan Huhn-Bowles and her husband, Warren Bowles of Minneapolis; granddaughters, Jennifer Lynch and Tammy Brackee; and great grandchildren, Hannah Brackee and Cody Brackee; and a brother, Stanley Huhn of South Gate, California.
He was preceded in death by, his parents; a sister, Bernice Huhn; and a brother, Norman Huhn. Delmar was born on Aug. 9, 1919, in New Ulm to Edwin and Therese (Schreiner) Huhn. He attended New Ulm Public School, graduating in 1937. On August 31, 1940, he married Irma Grams at St. Paul's Parsonage in New Ulm. In 1943, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps serving during World War II. He worked at Super Sweet Feeds and Kato Engineering for a number of years until retirement.
He enjoyed travel, often taking his family on long camping trips, which they learned to love. He was an accomplished guitarist and loved music and nature. Delmar was a founding year member of the Concord Singers and a lifelong member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm.

Meta (Krueger) Lawrence, 106, of Springfield, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Service is 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 12, at St. John Lutheran Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Springfield City Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the St. John Lutheran Home Chapel.
Sturm Funeral Home of Springfield handled arrangements.
She is survived by a sister- Evelyn Sonnenberg of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Lydia 'Meta' Lawrence was born Jan. 13, 1898, in North Star Township, Brown County, the daughter of Ed and Mary (Timm) Krueger.

Lylon Niemann, 70, of Hector, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at the Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.
Funeral service is 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 13, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hector, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the church.
Arrangements are by the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel of Hutchinson.

Milo 'Mike' A. Engesser, 78, of Springfield, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at the New Ulm Medical Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, Nov. 13 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield with burial at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Springfield.
Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 12 from 4-7 p.m. and Sat., Nov. 13 from 7:30-10 a.m. at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.
He is survived by his wife Carol of Springfield; daughters, Debra Janni of Springfield, and Connie Ryan of New Ulm; six grandchildren; brothers, Rodney Engesser of Omaha, Nebr., and
Thorval of Gary, S.D.; sisters, Pat DeVos of Marshall, Jenice Molitor of
Scottsdale, Ariz., and Jackie Marquardt of Mesa, Ariz
He was born Feb.16, 1926, in Balaton, Minn., to, Tom and Olive (Olson) Engesser.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army. in 1945 and served during World War II.

Alice E. Grunke, 88 of Fairfax, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Funeral services will be 2p.m., Friday, Nov. 12, at St. John Lutheran Church in Fairfax. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be two hours before services at the church on Friday.
Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax is handling the arrangements.
She is survived by sisters, Irene Kuiper of Jeffers, and Shirley Matzke of Apache Junction, Ariz.
She was born May 9, 1916, in Cottonwood County, Minne., to Edward and Hilda (Huski) Storbeck.

Eva Mayer, 92, of rural Winthrop, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at the Sibley Medical Center in Arlington.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Friday, November 12, at St. Willibrord's Catholic Church in Gibbon with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4 - 7p.m., Thursday and 7:30 - 9:30 a.m., Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon. The St. Willibrord's Catholic Aid Society will pray the rosary at 6 p.m., and there will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. both Thursday at the funeral home.
Eva is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, James Mayer of rural Winthrop and his fiancee Dorothea Paul of Morton, Gail and Gladys Mayer of New Ulm; granddaughters, Mary and Tom Schroeder of New Ulm, Amy Mayer of Minneapolis; great-grandchildren, Kate and Andrew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur Mayer on Jan. 4, 1983; sisters, Elizabeth, Mabel, Mary and Sadie; and by brothers, Harry, Will J., and John.
Eva Heinrich was born Nov. 18, 1911, in Cairo Township, Renville County to William and Katherine (Grosam) Heinrich. She married Arthur J. Mayer on Oct. 27, 1934, at the St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax. After marriage they farmed in Moltke Township, Sibley County. In 1939 they bought a farm in Cornish Township, Sibley County, where Eva lived until her death. She enjoyed cross-stitching, star quilts, gardening, flowers and shopping for her great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the St. Willibrord's Catholic Church and the St. Willibrord's Catholic Aid Society.

Richard 'Dick' Rubischko, 63, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2004, in Denver, Colo.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 13, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon with burial in the St. Willibrord's Catholic Cemetery in Gibbon.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday.
Richard is survived by his wife, Pat of Centennial, Colorado; daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Dave Berryman and their children, Erik and Katie; his mother, Marcella Rubischko of the Countryview Estates in Fairfax; sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Lyle Rettmann of Brownton; brothers and sister-in-law, David and Wendy Rubischko of St. Peter, and Jerome "Jerry" Rubischko of Gibbon; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Rubischko on April 6, 2004.
Richard Rubischko was born on Feb. 11, 1941, in New Ulm to John and Marcella (Schreiner) Rubischko. He graduated from Gibbon High School and later received a Bachelor of Science-Physics degree from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dick and his wife, Pat have resided in the Denver, Colorado area for the past 25 years.

Donna Mae Strobl, 54, passed away Oct. 22, 2004, at the Hospice Inn, Huntington, NY, after a courageous battle with lymphoma.
She was born Feb. 8, 1950, in Sleepy Eye, MN, to Elmer and Elda (Meyer) Schefus. She grew up on the family farm near Fairfax, and was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Fairfax. She graduated from Fairfax High School in 1968, and was a graduate of the Medical Institute of Minnesota in Minneapolis. She lived and worked in Fort Dodge, Ventura and Polk City, Iowa, and more recently in Oakdale, NY.
She married Lieutenant Colonel USAF Ed Strobl on May 13, 1993 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Donna is survived by her husband Ed Strobl of Oakdale, NY, mother Elda Schefus of Fairfax, sisters Carol (John) Bader of Marinette, Wis., Elaine (Steve) Tiffenbach of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Darlene (Don) Zimmerman of Fairfax, Diane (Steve) Hanson of Dassel, and Susan (Tim) Chattin of Farmington. Also mother-in-law Helen Strobl of Huntington, NY, stepsons John (Terri), Edward III (Hope) both of Des Moines, IA, grandchildren Joshua, Colin, Kaitlyn, Rebekah and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and an infant sister.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Fairfax.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Donna M. Strobl Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 80, Huntington, NY 11743.

Joseph E. Wermeier, 81, of Arlington, died Nov. 8, 2004, at Glencoe Regional Health Services,
Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 13, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Arlington. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is two hours before the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Arrangements are handled by Kolden Funeral Service of Arlington.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Arlington; children, Jane Brennan of Glencoe, Mary Schmid of Edina, Linda Malarkey of Corning, NY and John Wermeier of Arlington; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson, Caden; brother, Ernest Wemeier of Gurney.
He was born May 23, 1923, in Dryden Township, Sibley County, to John and Elizabeth (Bahrke) Wermeier.
